What have you learnt about technologies from constructing
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from constructing your
product?
2. Blogger
Through using blogger, I was able to upload all of my coursework
as I was doing it. This meant that I was able to keep track of
work that I had done, what I needed to do, and it also let me
go back and make improvements to posts that I had
previously posted. It allowed me to show the progress that I
have made. From using blogger, I have learnt how to make
online posts (and change the layout of these posts, such as
background, colours…), how to upload photos, share Prezis
and Slideshares. Learning all of this has helped me to improve
my blog and make it easily accessible.
3. Adobe Photoshop
I used Photoshop to edit all of the pictures used on my
magazine. I have learnt a lot using Photoshop. I was able to
erase shadows from photos, cut the background away (I did
this using the background erase tool, and the magic erase
tool) and change the brightness of the pictures. Adobe
Photoshop, allowed me to make a higher quality picture that
look more realistic for a music magazine.
4. Adobe Indesign
I used Adobe Indesign to put my whole magazine together. From
using this, I learnt how to make a magazine look like a music
magazine. I was able to resize pictures, change their positions,
change fonts, colours, and angles of objects. I also learnt how
to position objects to make them fit together in a way that
was appropriate for my music magazine.
5. Prezi/Slideshare
I used Prezi and Slideshare, a way to present some of my work .
It allowed me to present some of my blog posts in a different
way that was appealing to look at. I taught myself how to use
these websites, and how to use different templates to present
my work.
6. Microsoft Word
I mostly used Microsoft word to type up my article. I used Word
to make sure that there were no spelling or grammar mistakes
to ensure that my product resembled a music magazine as
much as possible. I also used this to create the flowers used
on the front page and double page spread as it was easy to
create shapes, group them, resize them and change their
colours.
