This document describes the fabrication of a cruise controller for an electric bike. The cruise controller allows the bike to maintain a constant speed without the rider having to continuously operate the throttle. A microcontroller is programmed to automatically control the speed of the electric bike based on input from the driver. The cruise controller uses a switch that can be engaged to lock the bike at the desired speed. It then uses the microcontroller and sensors to regulate the motor and maintain that constant speed. When disengaged, normal throttle control is restored. The system is intended to make long rides on an electric bike easier by automating speed maintenance.
