1. EIGHTH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR (19 -2-2017)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Holy Communion for our children will be administered today/tomorrow at 10 am mass. Kindly note the
change in mass timing from 9.30am to 10 am.
2. The February Bible Quest results are sent online, and also uploaded in our church website. Individual
toppers collect your prizes before today/tomorrow evening. Next BQ will be held on March 19 in the
Bible Study Quiz part 1.
3. Today/tomorrow we celebrated as Bible Sunday in our archdiocese.
4. We begin the season of Lent from coming Wednesday, 1st March. On Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting
and abstinence, there will be 3 masses – morning at 6.45 and evening at 6.15 in Konkani and 7 in
English. Blessed ashes will be applied during all the Masses. For common practice of Penance in the
archdiocese of Bombay, please refer to the circular of Cardinal Oswald Gracias in the latest issue of
the Examiner.
5. During the season of Lent, Stations of the Cross will be held on Friday at 6.15 in Konkani and Saturday
at 6.15 in English.
6. The annual SCC ENVIRONMENT RALLY will be held on coming Sunday, 5th March. First part of the
rally will be WALK FOR ENVIRONMENT wherein parishioners of all faiths will come in procession from
their respective localities with placards and slogans on environment protection. The second part of the
rally is a stage programme with various stage items on the theme on environment, specially SAVE
AAREY COLONY put up by the Eco Kids Clubs of our parish. Bishop Percival Fernandez will be the
chief guest for the stage programme. Since it is a parish level annual project, various parish groups are
also allotted with different portfolios. Your active involvement will help to make this annual event a
success. Project plan and portfolio details are uploaded in our church website. PPC members please
note – today/tomorrow is the last date to submit your consolidated entry forms and eco kids feedback
reports for the month of February. As there will be bishop as chief guest, and also a big crowd of about
700, the quality of your stage item must be good. The rehearsal for stage item will be held on coming
Thursday, 2nd March, not tomorrow Monday, as announced earlier.
7. The bi-yearly OLCM session for all parish association members will be held on the following Sunday,
12th March, along with the PPC meeting. 10.30 to 12 will be the OLCM session. From 12 we will have a
shorter PPC meeting. Members of various parish groups attending the session, please enlist your
names with your PPC members. PPC members please send the nos to Fr Felix on online before
Wednesday 8th March.
8. DYC is organizing camps for youth in the month of April and May. For details see the poster on the
notice board. Youth who are interested to attend find it difficult to pay the charges may meet the parish
priest.
9. (9.30 am mass) Coming Sunday liturgy will be SCC 10.
10. This is the last reminder to renew your Daily flash reflection booklets in the parish office.
