1. SECOND SUNDAY OF THE YEAR (14 -1-2018)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. The PPC meeting will be held today/tomorrow in the A V Hall after 9.30 am ma
2. PYC meeting will be held today/ tomorrow in the A V Room after 9.30 am mass. Those youth who
would like to volunteer for the fete are requested to attend the same.
3. The novenas in preparation for our parish feast will begin from coming Friday 19th January 2018. Every
day, the novena mass in Konkani will be celebrated at 6.30 pm. This will be followed by the recitation
of novena prayer in Tamil followed by the novena mass in English at 7.30 p.m. The theme chosen for
this year is family. The community-wise novena schedule is put up on the notice-board. Two mass
intention boxes, one for the 6.30 pm and the other for the 7.30 pm mass will be placed at the altar for
the novena masses, you may drop in your intentions along with the mass offering in these boxes.
4. Our parish feast mass will be celebrated in the morning at 9 a.m. on the following Sunday 28th January
2018. On the feast day evening we will have the Parish Fete starting at 5 p.m. Snack/dinner coupons
for the same are available with your PPC members from today for Rs 75/-for both children and adults.
Children till Sr. KG. will be free, no need of coupons. Since it is our parish feast preference to be given
to our parishioners and then to ex parishioners and relatives of our parishioners for coupons.
5. As part of the Infant Fiesta 2018, the PYC will organize two pre-events for children on 26th January
from 4.30 pm -6.15 pm. For students upto Std. VII – Drawing Competition and for VIII – XI Hat
designing competition. Entry forms for the same are available with the PYC members. Entry fee for
both the event is Rs 20/- only.
6. Community wise games will be held on Sunday 21st January after the 9.30 am mass in the Church
extension. PPC/ SCC co-coordinators are requested to submit your entries before 19th January 2018.
7. January Bible Quest will be held on coming Sunday 21st January in the letter of St Paul to Romans.
PPC members please enlist your nos online with Fr Felix.
8. Bible cell of our parish has organised a Bible seminar for all the regular BQ participants, and others
interested on the following Friday, 26th January, a public holiday from 9.30 to 1.30 concluding with
lunch. The resource person will be Fr Walter D’Souza, head of the archdiocesan Bible Commission. To
cover the part of expenses, a nominal charge per head Rs 50/- is charged. Balance will be paid by the
church. Further details are sent online on our parish WhatsApp group. PPC members please enlist the
names online before Tuesday, 23rd January.
9. This month, January, there will be no SCC meetings. Instead, the core groups will meet to prepare the
liturgy for the parish feast novenas. Themes and other details will be informed later.
10. The PYC will be organizing Group Dance Competition as part of the Parish Feast Celebrations. Further
details are available in the entry form.
11. The January Eco kids project will be drawing contest along with Christmas and New year celebration
on coming Sunday, 21st January. This project will be held in your own areas. The themes for drawing
and other details are posted in the parish WhatsApp group.
12. Family cell of our parish will be organising Shaadi Mubarak a programme for married couples
on Sunday Feb 4, starting with a special mass at 9.30 am followed by a get-together in the AV hall.
Charges per couple will be Rs 200/-. Registration forms available in the parish office or with Family Cell
members.
13. Congratulations to the family of late Hilda Lobo, the second family of our parish who opted for the
shroud burial, that is, burial without wooden coffin. For further details on shroud burial please refer our
church website, parish section.
14. It has been observed that, often people offer their gifts during the mass wrapped in colourful gift
papers, which is a waste. Please offer gifts without any gift wrappers, or just use newspaper to wrap
your offering.
15. It is suggested that, if you want to pay your monthly C.F contribution in cash, pay it in the parish office,
if it is cheque, you may drop it in the C.F. box kept near the entrance.
16. The junior kg admission forms will be distributed on coming Thursday, 18th January. For further details
refer to the notice boards.
17. Daily Flash subscribers, Konkani and English please renew your subscription in the parish office.
18. St John’s Church, Marol is organising a parish fete. See poster on the notice board.
19. Priests’ Sisters family visitation on coming Wednesday is SCC 16. Your PPC member will give you
further details.
20. Last Sunday collections amounted to Rs-26992/-. Thank you for your generosity.
21. (9.15 mass only) Today’s liturgy is animated by SCC 10. Coming Sunday liturgy will be as per parish
feast novena appointments.
