Introduction Animations, cartoons and movies we watch every day. Ever since I was little I have
loved to watch these collections of pictures move across a screen, all the work that has gone into
making the wonderful piece of entertainment. I have wanted to be an animator for a good time now,
having decided that in freshman year; before then I had hoped to be a video game designer, though
the two jobs do have some similarities I felt that an animator would better fit what I would love to
do. I have many reasons as to why I feel I chose this job, but simply I want it because I love
cartoons and movies, these things that have shaped a majority of my life. The job itself would be
tough, having to work with and coordinate with many others to get a project done, to be able to pull
through to the end of a project. It entails having to be determined and professional, to be a team–
player, and to be a hard worker. My goals for this job are to work on cartoons and movies, to bring
people entertainment and hopefully something they enjoy as much as I enjoy them. I hope to maybe
one day have come up with my own cartoon, or to at least work on a big movie I could be proud of.
My career goal would be to be seen as a talented animator who works on wonderful productions,
and maybe become a lead animator one day.

Another 'first' of it's time was an animated cartoon ''Felix the cat'' created by Otto Messmer. The
overall feature of this cartoon and many others of this time, were crude and violent tricks to
entertain viewers. This is still evident in cartoons today such as Tom and Jerry (1965–present) which

the followers so logically, the followers had to follow the leaders but at the same time avoiding each
other because they did not want the wildebeests to crash into each other. The next step was to match
them into the background. The CGI crew built the 3 dimensional grid stages which matched the

The main problem that animation faces is that it is an overtly fake diegetic form. The viewer is
presented with a constructed reality of drawings and paintings, which may represent the real world,

Animations are an excellent way of bringing joy to a person while enhancing their experience.
However, for an animation to be successful, the animator should meet the audience–based

"The Dead" by Billy Collins is an excellent poem about people who have died and what they do

Most of these judges do not understand the amount of time and energy it takes to make an incredible

The oboe has been my life, I started at a young age, I didn't really know what I was getting myself
into, I wasn't really interested in playing the oboe, I never imagined myself playing oboe in high
school. But by my sophomore year, I finally started to enjoy playing oboe, I thought; why not keep

There were many devices that were used in the early age of animation. One of them was the magic
lantern. The magic lantern was the first device to be made in the early age of animation. It was
created in the 1600's by Athanasius Kircher. It projected images onto a wall. The magic lantern that
Athanasius Kircher created was a small box. A hole was cut into a side and a light source was placed
inside the box such as a candle. There was a curved mirror behind the light source, and in front of
the light source was a lens. The mirror reflects the light from the light source and it goes through the
lens and out of the hole in the box. If a glass slide with an image was placed in front of the hole in
the box, the image would reflect onto the wall.

What Are Fred Moore's Greatest Accomplishments
Fred Moore grew up drawing. He used to submit artwork to the Los angles Junior Times, and many
of his pieces made it into the magazine. Eventually, he made it over to the Disney Studio where he
found himself a job in the animation department. Fred Moore is quite well known for redesigning
Walt Disney's beloved Mickey Mouse character. Previously, the character had used a squash and
stretch technique and was all circles and long cylindrical shapes for the arms and legs. Moore gave
Mickey Mouse a much needed tune up and his design of Mickey Mouse is still used today. Aside
from redesigning Mickey Mouse, Moore also worked on over 35 animated shorts, one of which was
nominated for an academy award. In my opinion, one of Moore's greatest accomplishments was
when Disney appointed him as Directing Animator for dwarves in the very first full length animated
feature film to come out of the Disney Studio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Bashful, Doc,

Even after all these years, kids still watch this movie. I have a three–year–old nephew who only
focuses his attention on dinosaurs and sharks, but there are a few Disney movies that grab his
attention, and for some reason, Snow White is one of them. We watch this movie all the time in my
house. There is no lack of entertainment and the animation will keep me coming back to it for many
