Persuasive Essay About Animator
Introduction Animations, cartoons and movies we watch every day. Ever since I was little I have
loved to watch these collections of pictures move across a screen, all the work that has gone into
making the wonderful piece of entertainment. I have wanted to be an animator for a good time now,
having decided that in freshman year; before then I had hoped to be a video game designer, though
the two jobs do have some similarities I felt that an animator would better fit what I would love to
do. I have many reasons as to why I feel I chose this job, but simply I want it because I love
cartoons and movies, these things that have shaped a majority of my life. The job itself would be
tough, having to work with and coordinate with many others to get a project done, to be able to pull
through to the end of a project. It entails having to be determined and professional, to be a team–
player, and to be a hard worker. My goals for this job are to work on cartoons and movies, to bring
people entertainment and hopefully something they enjoy as much as I enjoy them. I hope to maybe
one day have come up with my own cartoon, or to at least work on a big movie I could be proud of.
My career goal would be to be seen as a talented animator who works on wonderful productions,
and maybe become a lead animator one day.
Career–related Information Animation jobs usually require a bachelor's degree in fine arts, computer
graphics, animation, or a related field (BLS). Typically to get a job one does

Walt Disney Controversy
Walt Disney was well known for being a patriarch in the animation industry. His employees,
numbering 800+, were the most experienced and well paid in the whole field. Just less than a decade
earlier, Walt and his studio had struck gold with the success of the first ever full–length animated
feature film, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. The film had become, at the time, the most
successful sound movie ever. Walt had decided to take a large sum of the profit from Snow White
and use it to finance a new animation studio located in Burbank, California – the same studio that
Disney operates out of today. Profits were also used to fund new ventures into the largely
undiscovered world of animation and stereophonic sound. However, behind the curtains ... Show

With this rule, Mr. Disney had brought a handful of workers over the level of a salary of 40 dollars
per week – which at the time, under the Wagner Labor Relations Act, caused the higher–ups to cease
being paid for their overtime work. The ever–so–hardworking animators never were able to have
their names show up on the title cards as bouncy music played – it was just Walt Disney this, A Walt
Disney film that. In 1939, Disney began moving his staff to the studio in Burbank that he had
personally designed himself. After that, many, many things changed for the formerly merry, family–
like studio. A rigid hierarchy system was now put into place, with the highest–ranking employees at
the top and the lowest–ranking workers at the bottom. Many benefits were also axed at the new
studio – regular employees could no longer access the gymnasium, steam room, restaurant, and
other luxuries – those were now reserved for only the highest–ranking writers and animators. The
animators also learned something new – "Don't you dare cross

The Development of the Genre of Animation in 'Snow White...
The Development of the Genre of Animation in 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' by Madagascar
The animation genre was, and continues to be one of the most popular genres with adults and
children alike.
In this essay I am going to explore the genre of animation in depth; looking at techniques used
throughout the animation genre, and I am also going to observe the development and changes which
have occurred since the very early forms of animation began and also since the very first feature
length animation film was made; Snow White (1937). By comparing these past techniques with a
present animated film Madagascar (2005) I will be looking to see if audiences think animation has
improved and why they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another 'first' of it's time was an animated cartoon ''Felix the cat'' created by Otto Messmer. The
overall feature of this cartoon and many others of this time, were crude and violent tricks to
entertain viewers. This is still evident in cartoons today such as Tom and Jerry (1965–present) which
is a modern example of a cartoon similar of this time, where characters would beat each other
repeatedly using a variety of props, this would barter back and forth between characters and this was
the overall plot to animations of this time.
In its earliest forms short animations were aimed at the young and also the older viewers. It was a
relatively new concept in the early 1920's so the vast majority of the world were engrossed in this
new idea of animation.
As animation moved on from that of 'Gertie the Dinosaur' the advancement of sound and colour
continued to amaze audiences throughout the world.
Walt Disney, possibly the most well known of animators, took the animation process to a higher
level. He was the first person to add sound to their cartoons with his first one named ''Steamboat
Willie'' (1928)
Walt Disney was also responsible for the first full length animated feature film. He produced the
animated film Snow White and the seven dwarfs in 1937,

The Art of Digital Animation
Norman McLaren said, "Animation is not the art of drawings that move but the art of movements
that are drawn." To be a digital animator, independence and social skills are needed. Strong design
skills and computer savvy will be key. (Clark 185) To be successful or to even get a job the animator
needs a proper foundation. Having social skills, years of experience, and even a degree (not often)
are needed to do so. The long hours can be fun or enjoyable in the beginning seeing as the animator
is doing what they love but eventually, they will be exhausted and with deadlines they can screw
their self over without being prepared. Being educated in the field is highly suggested, to
understanding of color, form, shape, dynamics, and so on is needed. However, the only way the
animator can truly learn is through experience, actual practice. Some people look to be apprentices
to other animator and learn through being in that type of environment. Being a digital animator has
it's pros, cons, is full of history, and has a simple method of getting into.
Digital animation is a vital piece in the entertainment industry today. Talented artists from all over
get into the field to create amazing works of art. An animator produces multiple images that are
referred to as frames. These frames when compiled in sequence create a moving picture known as
animation. "They draw by hand and use computers to create the large series of pictures that, when
transferred to film or tape, form the animated

Overseas Animators Job Growth
The job growth of Multimedia Artists and Animators is growing at a very slow rate, due to the
animation companies and studios hiring artists and animators who work overseas. For those who are
not exactly sure what a Multimedia Artist is or does. A Multimedia Artist/Animator is an artist who
creates "[2– Dimensional and 3–Dimensional] animation and visual effects for television, movies,
video games, and other forms of media" (www.bls.gov). This is one of the few drawbacks in this
occupation. American animation companies and studios hire overseas animators, since overseas
animators work for a much lower price than American animators. This means the companies and
studios save money. Also, the overseas animators create top–of–the–line animated ... Show more

animation market" and to be in competition with American animators, and/or because, like
American animators, overseas animators also enjoy exercising their creativity, talents, computer–
animation skills and fascinating story–telling skills when it comes to animated movies and video
games (Crosby). Also, another reason why the animation studios and companies are hiring overseas
animators could possibly be the fact that "56.9% of animators [are] self–employed"
(Collegefortn.org). By animators adapting to this effective solution, American self–employed
animators, who want to begin their animation companies and studios, can come into collaboration
with aspiring animators, employing teams of fellow animators. This would bring more jobs and
opportunities to American animators. And lastly, the reason why overseas animators are hired by
American animation studios and companies, is due to the fact that in the past decades animation
studios have been sending unfinished animation work to overseas animators to complete. As said by
Tom Crosby, in an article of "How Stuff Works" titled "How Outscoring Works", "This isn't a new
trend. It started decades ago when Hollywood studios began sending pre–production work to
lowered–priced, where the work was polished and completed." Once the independent animators
establish their own businesses and collaborate with their fellow aspiring animators, who embrace
this effective solution, there wouldn't be any unfinished artwork to send to overseas animators.
Since all of the artwork would be completed on due time, by the animators of the companies, there
would not be any uncompleted or discarded artwork to send to overseas animators. This would bring
about a faster pace in the job growth rate of this

Chuck Jones Research Paper
As time goes on, careers become more reliant on the advancement of technology than the hands on
work of the job holder. However, for Chuck Jones, that was not the case. Chuck Jones, a cartoon
director and animator, has provided entertainment for all ages throughout the past eight decades and
has been a magnate for many aspiring animators. The Animation of Chuck Jones exhibit at the
Minnesota Historical Society displayed Chuck Jones's work throughout his career as well as original
production notes, which are inscribed on his hand drawn sketches. Chuck Jones's cartoons have
been praised for his reliance on using action to communicate his story and characters. Jones's

Animators: Why Did The Artists Cross The Road
Absolutely Animators Why did the artist cross the road? To see from the other side. While that joke
is playing from a stereotypical artist line, it is very true that artists want to see from the "other side"
and introduce to the world different ideas. A type of artist that is able to spread ideas on a
sometimes–large scale is the animator. Animators are people who create the illusion of motion
through a series of images and present it to the world via movies, television, advertisements,
videogames, etc. Animators create a lot of the entertainment in today's culture and therefore can
have a large influence on society. Animators have a tough and meticulous job, but the ability to
express creativity and messages with today's technology make the effort well worth it. Animation
developed slowly overtime. Mylearning.org displays that during the nineteenth–century, many
people invented contraptions that played with visuals. The most famous being the Phenakistoscope
invented by Joseph Plateau. By spinning his contraptions, the multiple pictures he had taken looked
as if they were moving (My Learning). David Nusair, a Hollywood movie expert, says that during
the 1906–1935, smaller animations were being produced. Animators were able to synchronize ...

That is why animation directors are there. Animation directors choose and coordinate the teams in
animation. Burton explains the tasks that animation directors carry out. They help lead the
animation team and have lots of experience. Burton states, "They lead each team from the beginning
to the end of any given animated production". They review the work of the team and keep them on
track. The animation directors are very important and not only work with the animators, but also
with the director and producers. They communicate between the three groups and keep track of
budgets, deadlines, and creative desires

Personal Narrative: Becoming A Balance Animator
Becoming a mostly freelance animator would be the payoff of many years of hard times and hard
work, not only just now as I am finishing high school, but also as I continue on to college. I have
wanted to be an artist from a very young age. My father was a web designer, my uncle is an
animator, and my aunt is a graphic designer. Growing up helping them, especially my father, gave
me an understanding of color, design, and structure. They definitely inspired my choice to begin my
path to become an animator. My family has always been my support system through everything
from health issues, our recent loss, choir or orchestra concerts, and even months of musical. Without
them, I'd be lost.

Walt Disney : An American Entrepreneur, Film Producer, And...
Walt Disney, an American entrepreneur, film producer, and animator changed the world of
entertainment. Starting from a sketch of a meek rabbit, Disney's career escalated and became a mega
empire. Younger generations today will hear Mickey Mouse and the first thing that comes to mind is
Disney, but what people don't know is that Walt Disney's simple sketches are what turned Disney
into one of the largest entertainment complexes today.
Walt Disney was born in Hermosa, Chicago, IL, on December 5, 1901 to a Canadian farmer, Elias
Disney and former school teacher, Flora Call Disney. He was the fourth of five children in his
family, four boys and one girl. Walt was raised on a Midwestern farm between Marceline, Missouri
and Kansas City. On the farm during Disney 's free time, he and his older brother, Roy would go to
the farm and do chores. Walt attended school at McKinley High School and he took part in drawing
and writing cartoons for the school 's newspaper. (Encyclopedia of World Biography pg.26; Garraty
pg. 129)
Before the World War I had started Disney and his family moved to Kansas where his father opened
up a newspaper delivery service. Walt and his brother Roy would both have to wake up at 3:30 in
the morning to start their paper routes before school. In 1917 Elias Disney, Walt 's father, returned to
Chicago to become one of the directors of a small factory. Walt stayed in Kansas working as a news
vendor for the Santa Fe Railroad. He later then rejoined his family in

Diesel Mechanics
Introductory Paragraph When I was fifteen years old, my mother told be about the diesel mechanic
industry and how it could benefit not only me but also the company that my parents have,
transporting goods to other places, and if the trucks were damaged my dad could just bring it over
and I would be able to fix it. Also during that time, I had been watching a lot of anime shows and
began to start drawing. At that moment, I then realized that I would also like to be an animator.
While I'm interested in becoming a diesel mechanic, I also found the animation industry to be
another possibility for me to go to. Diesel Mechanic and animation have key differences such as that

They make the images with digital models, after that they add the details such as hair, clothing's,

different projects by creating games, videos, and movies for different companies and having the
option whether to work on the background designs or characters models. The animators mostly
work from their office in groups each one doing a certain task to complete the project much more
faster rather than doing it individually. Conclusion Although both careers I researched promise to be
lucrative and demanding only one appeals to me more and that is diesel mechanic because I feel that
it will benefit not only for me but for my dad's company as well. The reason why I won't pressure to
become an animator is because it requires a lot of art skill meaning that it will be competitive, and
hard to find a good company to hire me, instead ima focus on becoming a diesel mechanic and to
open my own workshop, however it doesn't mean that I will forget about being an animator I will

There is one scene in the movie which could have been...
There is one scene in the movie which could have been impossible to produce without computer
imagery. The scene involves Scar who wants to kill his royal relatives by trapping them under the
crowd of thousands running wildebeests.
'Occasionally, there's an effect that the directors want in a film that would be virtually impossible to
do with traditional animation techniques," explains CGI supervisor Scott Johnston. That's where
computer animation can sometimes make a difference. A stampede of thousands of wildebeests
would be too laborious to create by hand but animators working with computers can figure out what
the behaviour of the animal is and replicate it. We can also create all the camera angles that the
scene requires and match ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They came up with the idea a simulation, sort of following the leader. They created the leaders and
the followers so logically, the followers had to follow the leaders but at the same time avoiding each
other because they did not want the wildebeests to crash into each other. The next step was to match
them into the background. The CGI crew built the 3 dimensional grid stages which matched the
perspective and the look of the background which was going to be in the scene. Then they placed
one of the simulations on the grid and replaced the small magnets with the wildebeests running. The
different angles of the camera gave the audience the possibility to see the wildebeests running either
over the camera or under or even zoomed in the crowd.
In terms of color, the animators wanted the wildebeests to be slightly of different color so they gave
them random wild colors. It was made with the purpose that the director now could say what exactly
he liked or disliked and what he wanted to change in the particular wildebeest in the scene. When
they put this scene in the film for a draft version, the shades of grey were applied to match the black
and white film. And then in final color, they gave them each different coloring but within a very
limited range of shading: some of them became slightly lighter grey, some of them darker grey. All
in all, five CGI specialists spent over two years creating the incredible two

Animating Research Paper
Picking animating for your hobby can be a fun and challenging experience! However, if you are
considering animating their are a few things I think you should know. If you know about the
animating process, animating programs, what to do with finished animations, and animators to look
at for inspiration, then your animations may be smoother, and easier to make.
The animating process has three main parts; the frames, the audio, and editing. Frames are every
single picture that you use in animating. If you use frames correctly than your animations will be
smooth. To use frames correctly you must carefully study your character's movements for the first
part of you animation. Draw every movement that your character makes. If you use a lot of frames

Such as, Sudo and TV Paint. Most independent animators use Sudo because it is fairly easy to use
and it make good art and animation. TV Paint is extremely expensive however, it makes amazingly
smooth and detailed animation when used correctly. Most animators that have gone to college and
have a degree in art programing and animation use TV paint. There are many places to display your
animations and art so everyone can see it. Most animators post their creations on YouTube or a
social media site. While some animators post their works on sites from the company of the
animating program they are using. For example, Flipnote has a website called Sudomemo.
Sudomemo is accessible from a computer or a Nintendo DSI System. Their, flipnotes are available
to watch and download.
There are a few animator that have inspired me to animate. Some of their animation are worth
looking at. Sugurr(pronounced sugar), Vivziepop, and SaltyMilk can all be found on YouTube and
are amazing animators with smooth, detailed animation. They all use a different animating
programed and have developed their own unique art style. Shgurr uses Sudo and has a rather
simplistic art style. Vivziepop uses TV Paint and has an extremely detailed art style. SaltyMilk uses
Flipnote and has a median detailed art style.
In conclusion, animation can be a fun hobby or even an occupation. You must put work and thought
into what you do and be proud of your work. If the art is bad or animation is not smooth, take time
to practice your art and framework. Have fun

many instances in which people have double majored in both animation and illustration, but they are
vastly different in what they do. In their jobs animators and illustrators work on different platforms
and medias, have different job environments, and have different consumers for their works.

who just wants to have a piece of art, or someone who wants to promote their business. Animators
work in studios, with a desk to themselves and a tablet and their computers. Illustrators can work in
studios, but most times work at home on their own time. When both animators and illustrators are
charging for commissions, they can either charge on the hour or pre set prices on the type of
commissions. Pre set commissions can range from line art, rough sketches, busts or full body shots.
Animators and illustrators are completely different jobs, but often overlap with each other. They use
different medias to complete their respective pieces, have different job environments, and different
consumers for their work. Though both sides are very hard to do, people will still choose to train as

Digital Artists And Animation And Visual Effects For...
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, "Multimedia artists and animators create
animation and visual effects for television, movies, video games, and other forms of media"(BLS).
When looking at the different careers one could pursue, one should weigh the options before, or
near the beginning one's education, so one doesn 't have to redo the entire thing. There are many
types of animators, some work in 2D, which is mostly drawing; other animators work in 3D, which
is using a computer. Animation is a good career choice if one has an understanding and love for art
and working with computers.
For applicants looking to pursue a career in animation, one should consider the specific skill sets
and education that is required. According to the United States Department of Labor, some of the
education that one needs is, "a bachelor's degree in fine art, computer graphics, animation, or a
related field"(How to become one). Furthermore, as stated by the United Kingdom's National
Careers Service, some of the skills needed in this career are, "communication and presentation
skills, drawing and modelling skills, and IT skills"(UK). According to Dr. Alan Cholodenko,
"drawing is acknowledged as the 'basis' of not only all art but of animation"(Cholodenko). Some of
the animation careers are heavily based on drawing, however, they also use and need technology
skills as well. As reported by the BLS, "Many multimedia artists and animators use computer

Steven Spielberg's Gertie The Dinosaur
The main problem that animation faces is that it is an overtly fake diegetic form. The viewer is
presented with a constructed reality of drawings and paintings, which may represent the real world,
but unlike photographic film, does not look like it. The challenge therefore is to create characters
that may believably inhabit their particular diegetic reality. Animators have strived to find a way to
resolve this issue through their character design and an awareness of how to deliver narrative
information through their characters. This essay will illustrate the solutions that animators have
found to make their audiences believe what is put in front of them.
In 1914 Winsor McCay took up the (self–imposed) challenge of making dinosaurs live again via
animation. The result was Gertie the Dinosaur a semi–live act with McCay performing onstage with

He talks to her and asks her to perform tricks, which she obliges to do. We are also drawn attention
to the fact that she is thirsty and she drains a lake. The performance would climax with her picking

Through this series of call and response between the live action McCay and the animated Gertie,
McCay creates the illusion of human understanding within the animated dinosaur. There is also at
one point a look of glee in her face after a fight scene when she throws the defeated mammoth into a
lake. Through the human interaction and the animation McCay has anthropomorphically endowed
the animated creature with human emotions: he has made her believable to the audience by giving
her recognizable human traits.
In his book 'Understanding Animation' Paul Wells recognizes that the use of attributing animated
animal characters anthropomorphic characteristics has become a mainstay of character
development. It will be discussed in further detail later in the

The Four Core Competencies Used In My Animation Process
Animations are an excellent way of bringing joy to a person while enhancing their experience.
However, for an animation to be successful, the animator should meet the audience–based
expectations. As I reflect on my animation project, I will focus on the four core competencies used
in the making of this project.
Critical Thinking – The first competency used in my project involved the process of critical
thinking. Before I came up with a story for my animation, I thought about numerous ideas that could
potentially assist me with exploring the basic fundamentals and skills of animation. The first step
was to identify the problem as well as the factors that could influence it. In this case, the type of
animation that would be well–suited for children ages two to ten. Once I had a clear picture of the
problem and the target audience, I began to dive deeper into the issue and its possible solutions.
Researching was my second step in the critical thinking process. When using research for this
project, I came up with ideas that were relevant and useful to the task at hand. Consequently, critical
thinking played a crucial role in deciding on new ideas, selecting the best ones and adjusting them if
necessary. This lead to a reasonable solution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Throughout the entire animation film, there is no direct expectation of what is happening. Daffy and
the anonymous animator have this very lucrative but interesting interaction between one another
that is hard to distinguish. Even though Daffy is the only character on screen and that his reactions
are what make the comedy possible, the animator persistently changes creative perspective. At one
stage, the animator draws Daffy with a guitar, we then expect to hear the guitar playing. But at first,
no sound is heard when he strikes a chord. Daffy then holds up a sign asking ''Sound please'', shortly
after, we hear a variation of distant sounds that start again, whenever he plays a chord. At first, with
a machine gun, then a horn and finally the sound of a donkey when Daffy strikes the guitar into the
ground in frustration. To make matters worse, the animator goes on to take away Daffy's voice when
he comes back on screen after clearing away the guitar. His voice, now replaced with animal sounds
that Daffy gets embarrassed and distraught over. It is fantastic to see artistic variation between form,

The Career Of Animation : Animation
The Career of Animation Animation; an art form with the ability to tell a story and convey a
multitude of emotions along with information. Animation can be found almost everywhere in media
from commercials, to movies, to games. Every single animation need an animator or a team of
animators to create it. There are many kinds of animation: 2D, 3D, motion graphics, visual effects.
Each of these categories may have multiple people working on them using their own special skills to
produce the final product. The reason for researching this occupation is because of my fascination
and respect for the craft. I admire the art of storytelling immensely and the creativity that goes into

Animators, no matter what type, must play many roles and are tasked with responsibility because a
team could be counting on them.
Skills and Qualities The skills an animator possesses are integral to the work they do. Without their
skills, they are out of a job. For 3D animators, they must learn the modeling software used by the
company who is hiring them. Using the correct software is key because in a team must be able to
easily transition a project from person to person without hassle. Some of the most common software
used in the 3D industry are Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Photoshop, and After Effects
("3D Animation Careers: Job Description & Salary Information"). Keeping up to date with new
technology is vital. Other skills also attractive to an employer, involve proficiency in Adobe
products, being able to code, drawing skills, and communication skills (Flavin). Having a base
knowledge of many software is a safe bet in the industry.
According to Andrew Gordon, directing animator at Pixar, an animator should first work on
traditional art because it helps with compositing and creating visually appealing shots. Furthering
themselves into their profession so they stand out. Secondly, he recommended working in depth in a

Some people have wondered if there is a career out there that has to do with their passion for
drawing. Well, there is a career out there, and it has to do with animation. The occupation is known
as an animator. In order to have a career in animation, aspiring animators need to know, how the
process works, why animation is important, how this career can have an impact on talent, and the
skills that will be needed, so that aspiring animators will be ready for their passion. In order to be an
animator, people in this career have to learn how animation works in the first place. All animations
work by using a series of moving images to make the images look like they are actually moving

We know that 3D animation films in Malaysia still backward other than country such as Korea,
Japan and US. The animators need to know the importance of using high technology in their works
so they can produce more high quality of animation films. If we didn't take any action, this problem
will continue into the future. The animator need to understand and know the importance in using
technology in producing their films. So that, we can compete with other country in animation sector.
This problem affected all people in animation sector especially the animator and the producer itself.
The animator plays main role in this situation whereby they are the player in this sector and they

Western use animation cartoon for the most advertising and press. Animated cartoons allowed the
government to spread their message in a much more entertaining manner. Bugs Bunny Bond Rally

Our world gets more digital every day. Nearly everyone has a smartphone and a computer. Even
more people have a TV and if people do they are in contact with the digital world everyday.
Multimedia Artists and Animators (MMA) have a big impact on this because they create the illusion
of a realistic image in every digital and sometimes non–digital media project they publish.
MMAs design 2 and 3 dimensional models, animation and visual effects.
These appear in TV, movies and often in video games. They have to be realistic and detailed.
A MMA often keeps working in one medium and stays there for most of his career (Summary.).
I choose this career to write about because I am fascinated about the creativity that is needed and the
fact that the work is seen by a wide range of people.
I also really like that MMAs build the base for all the digital features and movies people get to see
these days. The impact on the modern life is really big.
It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary

Jeffery Katzenberg 's Influence On The Disney Animation...
It is evident that Jeffery Katzenberg played a significant role in the Walt Disney Animation Studios
during this time period. In his role as head of film, he expressed power in differing ways to
accomplish different objectives. Throughout the documentary Katzenberg displays a transactional
style of leadership. Leading from the top, early on, he attempted to cement his position of power
highlighting his ability to deliver commands to the animators and control integral decisions (Bass,
1991). On his first project with the studio, The Black Cauldron, Katzenberg displays legitimate
power when believes the film to be too violent and despite protests from the animators insists cuts
and changes must be made to the film (Hahn, 2009). French and Raven (1959), define legitimate
power as the right – due to status – to prescribe behaviour to others; in simpler terms, to tell
someone what to do. The animators likened the actions of Katzenberg to "causing world war three"
and thus a power struggle ensues. Robins and Judge (2008) theorise that situations in which there
are low levels of trust and high levels of uncertainty within an organisation increase the likelihood
of resistance from employees. This rang true in the Disney animation department as many of the
animators showed resistance to Katzenberg's leadership and authority refusing to make the changes
he wanted (Hahn, 2009). In retaliation Katzenberg displays an instant of coercive power – defined

Becoming A Psychologist And Studying Psychology
My first and most set career I am planning on pursuing in the future is a psychologist. For the
longest time, I have had my mind set on becoming a psychologist and studying psychology as much
as I can in the future. For those who don't know or aren't very informed on it, a psychologist is
someone that evaluates and studies human behavior and all mental processes, such as emotional,
cognitive, and social processes. Usually, they study this through observing and recording how
individuals relate to one another and their environments. Psychologists don't only study single
people at a time, but groups of people as well. There is not only one type of psychologist, but about
56 divisions of psychology and psychologists. The most well known branches of psychology, which
are ones I am interested in entering, are clinical psychologists and/or counseling psychologists,
which study and diagnose mental disorders on people. As stated there are others, such as army
psychologists, children psychologists, health psychologist, etc. which are all seemingly self
explanatory, but this doesn't go for every branch. On average, though, last checked in May of 2012,
the median pay for psychologists is about $69,280 dollars a year, earning them about $33.31 dollars
an hour. Although depending on how well known, who you work for, and what branch of
psychology you are in, this could change; this is just an average of what most do earn. In the United
States, we have about 170,200 psychologist jobs,

Analysis Of The Dead By Billy Collins
"The Dead" by Billy Collins is an excellent poem about people who have died and what they do
while they are in heaven. Collins describes them as" rowing through eternity" (line 4) and "looking
down on us through their glass bottomed boats" (line 3). The poem even has an animation, that
shows the animator, Juan Delcan of the group called "Spontaneous," and the animation shows his
point of view on what the poem is and what it means to him. The poem has many poetic devices,
and an animation made of it that describes "The Dead," that can help or hinder ones understanding
of Billy Collins poem.
Billy Collins's poem "The Dead" uses many poetic devices throughout the poem. The whole poem is
an open form poem, meaning that it has no specific style, such as rhyming. The poem also
personified, as the dead are animated, and they seem to be alive as they look down on the people of
earth. Billy Collins has also thrown in some alliteration, line two has two s–words and it is "shoes or
making a sandwich. . .", the other example of alliteration that Collins put in was two b–words in line
three "bottom boats of heaven. . ." throughout the poem, there is also examples of enjambment; as
there is no break between lines. Lines three and four have this "they are looking down through the
glass bottom boats of heaven/as they row themselves through eternity." Lines nine and ten is the
other example of enjambment, as they say, "which makes them lift their oars and fall silent/and wait,

Walt Disney's Perseverance And Imagination
The Magic of Disney can be attributed to Walt Disney's perseverance and imagination. Swearing to
never create another character he didn't have the license to, he created an animation studio in
Kansas, which went bankrupt shortly after. After moving to California, he set up shop and started
Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. One of the first real successes of the studio is a short in 1982
called Steamboat Willie, by Les Clark, which introduced the character later known as Mickey
Mouse and was the first time audiences experienced synchronized sound (TL). Walt's death in 1966
left the Empire in uncharted territory as the company had to learn how to fend for itself or did with
Walt and Nine Truly Old Men. They needed new talent and skilled animators, and Eric Larson was
the man for the job (W9OM).
In death Walt left $80 million behind, $38 million (47.5%) went to the founding and funding of an
animation program in Chouinard Art Institute, CalArts, room A113 (VF) (Quora). This class reaped
the benefits of Disney's monopoly on the animation industry and trained the next generation of
animators in the Disney way. This was originally Walt's goal and he was close to starting class.
However, he was inconveniently side–tracked by dying and project was put on hold till Larson
adopted it. Students of this class include Tim Burton, Brad Bird, Glen Keane, Nancy Beiman and
many more, working on projects like The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Cars, and The Incredibles. The

As soon as an animator completes their work, the animator submits their work to the test camera
department to see how well it is in motion. Did you also know that an in–between that hardly flows
in the process of the test camera? When this incorrection is prominent, the entire frame is thrown
away and revise the entire frame. Unlike the methods of 2D animation, flash animation is less
stunning. Flash Animation is the predecessor of 2D
Animation; Flash Animation is quicker and inexpensive. Besides flash animation being quicker,
updated, and cheaper, the production of flash animation is often sloppy and inaccurate to what is
being shown on the screen. For example,
Teen Titans Go! , is a TV Program made from Flash Animation. Teen Titans Go! is a terrible show.
Besides its lack of continuity to the original show, Teen Titans,
The animation plays a key role why this show is terrible. The movement is robotic and cheap; the
character design for each character is bland. After receiving criticism based solely on the animation
practices of the show, the animators make a jab about their choppy animation. What is depicted in
the scene of the jab is the dislocation of body parts that float toward the other side of the screen,
away from that character's body.
Adding on, 2D animation is better than Flash Animation for its usage of materials. Materials play a
key role in art. Material can range mediums such as paint, pen, Technology, etc. 2D

Looking closely though, I realized there is more to it than just drawing and speaking for the

Disney Animated movies are made.
What starts the good movie? All the animators and directors gather in a room to put together ideas

can draw scenarios but leave gaps between them if they didn't think of anything creative to put

Is Academy Voters Are Ignorant About Animation?
For it appears that the Academy has a differing opinion on these animated films. Amid Amidi,
brings attention to how some judges' feel for their nominations, in his article, "Definitive Proof That
Academy Voters Are Ignorant About Animation". One such judge stated how, "I have seen none of
them. I have no interest whatsoever. That ended when I was 6. My son dragged me to a few when he
was 6; I would seat him and go outside and make phone calls." This academy judge apparently
didn't even waste their time with a vote as they abstained in the Best Animated Feature category.
Most of these judges do not understand the amount of time and energy it takes to make an incredible
animation. Half of these judges abstained in this feature, and the rest voted for Frozen, but these
votes was due to the fact that their fellow judges voted for the same.
Another chance for animations to be recognized at the Oscars is in the Best Animated Short Film,
but still the judges hold the same bias for these features. For as another judge stated about the
animated shorts which, "Was kind of an off–year. I wasn't bowled over... I'm a little unclear about
what they did on that one – what was old footage, what was new footage – and I'm a little
apprehensive about rooting for the giant. But I felt like I'd seen most of the others before..."

The Magic Lantern Was Used In The Early Age Of Animation
There were many devices that were used in the early age of animation. One of them was the magic

Athanasius Kircher created was a small box. A hole was cut into a side and a light source was placed

the light source was a lens. The mirror reflects the light from the light source and it goes through the
lens and out of the hole in the box. If a glass slide with an image was placed in front of the hole in

What Are Fred Moore's Greatest Accomplishments
Fred Moore grew up drawing. He used to submit artwork to the Los angles Junior Times, and many

Mickey Mouse a much needed tune up and his design of Mickey Mouse is still used today. Aside
from redesigning Mickey Mouse, Moore also worked on over 35 animated shorts, one of which was
nominated for an academy award. In my opinion, one of Moore's greatest accomplishments was
when Disney appointed him as Directing Animator for dwarves in the very first full length animated

house. There is no lack of entertainment and the animation will keep me coming back to it for many
years. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is the type of movie that parents want to share with their
children. Then, when their children grow up, they will share it with their own children. This movie
will never go away and it will never get lost in the shuffle of the millions of animated works that
have been made since. It's original, and it's a classic. Audiences will always come back for

Persuasive Essay About Animator

  • 1. Persuasive Essay About Animator Introduction Animations, cartoons and movies we watch every day. Ever since I was little I have loved to watch these collections of pictures move across a screen, all the work that has gone into making the wonderful piece of entertainment. I have wanted to be an animator for a good time now, having decided that in freshman year; before then I had hoped to be a video game designer, though the two jobs do have some similarities I felt that an animator would better fit what I would love to do. I have many reasons as to why I feel I chose this job, but simply I want it because I love cartoons and movies, these things that have shaped a majority of my life. The job itself would be tough, having to work with and coordinate with many others to get a project done, to be able to pull through to the end of a project. It entails having to be determined and professional, to be a team– player, and to be a hard worker. My goals for this job are to work on cartoons and movies, to bring people entertainment and hopefully something they enjoy as much as I enjoy them. I hope to maybe one day have come up with my own cartoon, or to at least work on a big movie I could be proud of. My career goal would be to be seen as a talented animator who works on wonderful productions, and maybe become a lead animator one day. Career–related Information Animation jobs usually require a bachelor's degree in fine arts, computer graphics, animation, or a related field (BLS). Typically to get a job one does ... • 2. Walt Disney Controversy Walt Disney was well known for being a patriarch in the animation industry. His employees, numbering 800+, were the most experienced and well paid in the whole field. Just less than a decade earlier, Walt and his studio had struck gold with the success of the first ever full–length animated feature film, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. The film had become, at the time, the most successful sound movie ever. Walt had decided to take a large sum of the profit from Snow White and use it to finance a new animation studio located in Burbank, California – the same studio that Disney operates out of today. Profits were also used to fund new ventures into the largely undiscovered world of animation and stereophonic sound. However, behind the curtains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this rule, Mr. Disney had brought a handful of workers over the level of a salary of 40 dollars per week – which at the time, under the Wagner Labor Relations Act, caused the higher–ups to cease being paid for their overtime work. The ever–so–hardworking animators never were able to have their names show up on the title cards as bouncy music played – it was just Walt Disney this, A Walt Disney film that. In 1939, Disney began moving his staff to the studio in Burbank that he had personally designed himself. After that, many, many things changed for the formerly merry, family– like studio. A rigid hierarchy system was now put into place, with the highest–ranking employees at the top and the lowest–ranking workers at the bottom. Many benefits were also axed at the new studio – regular employees could no longer access the gymnasium, steam room, restaurant, and other luxuries – those were now reserved for only the highest–ranking writers and animators. The animators also learned something new – "Don't you dare cross ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Development of the Genre of Animation in 'Snow White... The Development of the Genre of Animation in 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' by Madagascar The animation genre was, and continues to be one of the most popular genres with adults and children alike. In this essay I am going to explore the genre of animation in depth; looking at techniques used throughout the animation genre, and I am also going to observe the development and changes which have occurred since the very early forms of animation began and also since the very first feature length animation film was made; Snow White (1937). By comparing these past techniques with a present animated film Madagascar (2005) I will be looking to see if audiences think animation has improved and why they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another 'first' of it's time was an animated cartoon ''Felix the cat'' created by Otto Messmer. The overall feature of this cartoon and many others of this time, were crude and violent tricks to entertain viewers. This is still evident in cartoons today such as Tom and Jerry (1965–present) which is a modern example of a cartoon similar of this time, where characters would beat each other repeatedly using a variety of props, this would barter back and forth between characters and this was the overall plot to animations of this time. In its earliest forms short animations were aimed at the young and also the older viewers. It was a relatively new concept in the early 1920's so the vast majority of the world were engrossed in this new idea of animation. As animation moved on from that of 'Gertie the Dinosaur' the advancement of sound and colour continued to amaze audiences throughout the world. Walt Disney, possibly the most well known of animators, took the animation process to a higher level. He was the first person to add sound to their cartoons with his first one named ''Steamboat Willie'' (1928) Walt Disney was also responsible for the first full length animated feature film. • 4. The Art of Digital Animation Norman McLaren said, "Animation is not the art of drawings that move but the art of movements that are drawn." To be a digital animator, independence and social skills are needed. Strong design skills and computer savvy will be key. (Clark 185) To be successful or to even get a job the animator needs a proper foundation. Having social skills, years of experience, and even a degree (not often) are needed to do so. The long hours can be fun or enjoyable in the beginning seeing as the animator is doing what they love but eventually, they will be exhausted and with deadlines they can screw their self over without being prepared. Being educated in the field is highly suggested, to understanding of color, form, shape, dynamics, and so on is needed. However, the only way the animator can truly learn is through experience, actual practice. Some people look to be apprentices to other animator and learn through being in that type of environment. Being a digital animator has it's pros, cons, is full of history, and has a simple method of getting into. Digital animation is a vital piece in the entertainment industry today. Talented artists from all over get into the field to create amazing works of art. An animator produces multiple images that are referred to as frames. These frames when compiled in sequence create a moving picture known as animation. "They draw by hand and use computers to create the large series of pictures that, when transferred to film or tape, form the animated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Overseas Animators Job Growth The job growth of Multimedia Artists and Animators is growing at a very slow rate, due to the animation companies and studios hiring artists and animators who work overseas. For those who are not exactly sure what a Multimedia Artist is or does. A Multimedia Artist/Animator is an artist who creates "[2– Dimensional and 3–Dimensional] animation and visual effects for television, movies, video games, and other forms of media" (www.bls.gov). This is one of the few drawbacks in this occupation. American animation companies and studios hire overseas animators, since overseas animators work for a much lower price than American animators. This means the companies and studios save money. Also, the overseas animators create top–of–the–line animated ... Also, another reason why the animation studios and companies are hiring overseas animators could possibly be the fact that "56.9% of animators [are] self–employed" (Collegefortn.org). By animators adapting to this effective solution, American self–employed animators, who want to begin their animation companies and studios, can come into collaboration with aspiring animators, employing teams of fellow animators. This would bring more jobs and opportunities to American animators. And lastly, the reason why overseas animators are hired by American animation studios and companies, is due to the fact that in the past decades animation studios have been sending unfinished animation work to overseas animators to complete. As said by Tom Crosby, in an article of "How Stuff Works" titled "How Outscoring Works", "This isn't a new trend. It started decades ago when Hollywood studios began sending pre–production work to lowered–priced, where the work was polished and completed." Once the independent animators establish their own businesses and collaborate with their fellow aspiring animators, who embrace this effective solution, there wouldn't be any unfinished artwork to send to overseas animators. Since all of the artwork would be completed on due time, by the animators of the companies, there would not be any uncompleted or discarded artwork to send to overseas animators. This would bring about a faster pace in the job growth rate of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Animators: Why Did The Artists Cross The Road Absolutely Animators Why did the artist cross the road? To see from the other side. While that joke is playing from a stereotypical artist line, it is very true that artists want to see from the "other side" and introduce to the world different ideas. A type of artist that is able to spread ideas on a sometimes–large scale is the animator. Animators are people who create the illusion of motion through a series of images and present it to the world via movies, television, advertisements, videogames, etc. Animators create a lot of the entertainment in today's culture and therefore can have a large influence on society. Animators have a tough and meticulous job, but the ability to express creativity and messages with today's technology make the effort well worth it. Animation developed slowly overtime. Mylearning.org displays that during the nineteenth–century, many people invented contraptions that played with visuals. The most famous being the Phenakistoscope invented by Joseph Plateau. By spinning his contraptions, the multiple pictures he had taken looked as if they were moving (My Learning). Personal Narrative: Becoming A Balance Animator Becoming a mostly freelance animator would be the payoff of many years of hard times and hard work, not only just now as I am finishing high school, but also as I continue on to college. I have wanted to be an artist from a very young age. My father was a web designer, my uncle is an animator, and my aunt is a graphic designer. Growing up helping them, especially my father, gave me an understanding of color, design, and structure. They definitely inspired my choice to begin my path to become an animator. • 9. Walt Disney : An American Entrepreneur, Film Producer, And... Walt Disney, an American entrepreneur, film producer, and animator changed the world of entertainment. Starting from a sketch of a meek rabbit, Disney's career escalated and became a mega empire. Younger generations today will hear Mickey Mouse and the first thing that comes to mind is Disney, but what people don't know is that Walt Disney's simple sketches are what turned Disney into one of the largest entertainment complexes today. Walt Disney was born in Hermosa, Chicago, IL, on December 5, 1901 to a Canadian farmer, Elias Disney and former school teacher, Flora Call Disney. He was the fourth of five children in his family, four boys and one girl. Walt was raised on a Midwestern farm between Marceline, Missouri and Kansas City. On the farm during Disney 's free time, he and his older brother, Roy would go to the farm and do chores. Walt attended school at McKinley High School and he took part in drawing and writing cartoons for the school 's newspaper. (Encyclopedia of World Biography pg.26; Garraty pg. 129) Before the World War I had started Disney and his family moved to Kansas where his father opened up a newspaper delivery service. Walt and his brother Roy would both have to wake up at 3:30 in the morning to start their paper routes before school. Diesel Mechanics Introductory Paragraph When I was fifteen years old, my mother told be about the diesel mechanic industry and how it could benefit not only me but also the company that my parents have, transporting goods to other places, and if the trucks were damaged my dad could just bring it over and I would be able to fix it. Also during that time, I had been watching a lot of anime shows and began to start drawing. At that moment, I then realized that I would also like to be an animator. • 11. There is one scene in the movie which could have been... There is one scene in the movie which could have been impossible to produce without computer imagery. The scene involves Scar who wants to kill his royal relatives by trapping them under the crowd of thousands running wildebeests. 'Occasionally, there's an effect that the directors want in a film that would be virtually impossible to do with traditional animation techniques," explains CGI supervisor Scott Johnston. That's where computer animation can sometimes make a difference. A stampede of thousands of wildebeests would be too laborious to create by hand but animators working with computers can figure out what the behaviour of the animal is and replicate it. We can also create all the camera angles that the scene requires and match ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They came up with the idea a simulation, sort of following the leader. They created the leaders and the followers so logically, the followers had to follow the leaders but at the same time avoiding each other because they did not want the wildebeests to crash into each other. The next step was to match them into the background. The CGI crew built the 3 dimensional grid stages which matched the perspective and the look of the background which was going to be in the scene. Then they placed one of the simulations on the grid and replaced the small magnets with the wildebeests running. The different angles of the camera gave the audience the possibility to see the wildebeests running either over the camera or under or even zoomed in the crowd. In terms of color, the animators wanted the wildebeests to be slightly of different color so they gave them random wild colors. It was made with the purpose that the director now could say what exactly he liked or disliked and what he wanted to change in the particular wildebeest in the scene. When they put this scene in the film for a draft version, the shades of grey were applied to match the black and white film. And then in final color, they gave them each different coloring but within a very limited range of shading: some of them became slightly lighter grey, some of them darker grey. • 18. Steven Spielberg's Gertie The Dinosaur The main problem that animation faces is that it is an overtly fake diegetic form. The viewer is presented with a constructed reality of drawings and paintings, which may represent the real world, but unlike photographic film, does not look like it. The challenge therefore is to create characters that may believably inhabit their particular diegetic reality. Animators have strived to find a way to resolve this issue through their character design and an awareness of how to deliver narrative information through their characters. This essay will illustrate the solutions that animators have found to make their audiences believe what is put in front of them. In 1914 Winsor McCay took up the (self–imposed) challenge of making dinosaurs live again via animation. The result was Gertie the Dinosaur a semi–live act with McCay performing onstage with the ... Through this series of call and response between the live action McCay and the animated Gertie, McCay creates the illusion of human understanding within the animated dinosaur. There is also at one point a look of glee in her face after a fight scene when she throws the defeated mammoth into a lake. Through the human interaction and the animation McCay has anthropomorphically endowed the animated creature with human emotions: he has made her believable to the audience by giving her recognizable human traits. In his role as head of film, he expressed power in differing ways to accomplish different objectives. Throughout the documentary Katzenberg displays a transactional style of leadership. Leading from the top, early on, he attempted to cement his position of power highlighting his ability to deliver commands to the animators and control integral decisions (Bass, 1991). On his first project with the studio, The Black Cauldron, Katzenberg displays legitimate power when believes the film to be too violent and despite protests from the animators insists cuts and changes must be made to the film (Hahn, 2009). French and Raven (1959), define legitimate power as the right – due to status – to prescribe behaviour to others; in simpler terms, to tell someone what to do. The animators likened the actions of Katzenberg to "causing world war three" and thus a power struggle ensues. Robins and Judge (2008) theorise that situations in which there are low levels of trust and high levels of uncertainty within an organisation increase the likelihood of resistance from employees. This rang true in the Disney animation department as many of the animators showed resistance to Katzenberg's leadership and authority refusing to make the changes he wanted (Hahn, 2009). • 32. Analysis Of The Dead By Billy Collins "The Dead" by Billy Collins is an excellent poem about people who have died and what they do while they are in heaven. Collins describes them as" rowing through eternity" (line 4) and "looking down on us through their glass bottomed boats" (line 3). The poem even has an animation, that shows the animator, Juan Delcan of the group called "Spontaneous," and the animation shows his point of view on what the poem is and what it means to him. The poem has many poetic devices, and an animation made of it that describes "The Dead," that can help or hinder ones understanding of Billy Collins poem. Billy Collins's poem "The Dead" uses many poetic devices throughout the poem. The whole poem is an open form poem, meaning that it has no specific style, such as rhyming. The poem also personified, as the dead are animated, and they seem to be alive as they look down on the people of earth. Billy Collins has also thrown in some alliteration, line two has two s–words and it is "shoes or making a sandwich. . .", the other example of alliteration that Collins put in was two b–words in line three "bottom boats of heaven. . ." throughout the poem, there is also examples of enjambment; as there is no break between lines. Lines three and four have this "they are looking down through the glass bottom boats of heaven/as they row themselves through eternity." Lines nine and ten is the other example of enjambment, as they say, "which makes them lift their oars and fall silent/and wait, like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Walt Disney's Perseverance And Imagination The Magic of Disney can be attributed to Walt Disney's perseverance and imagination. Swearing to never create another character he didn't have the license to, he created an animation studio in Kansas, which went bankrupt shortly after. After moving to California, he set up shop and started Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. One of the first real successes of the studio is a short in 1982 called Steamboat Willie, by Les Clark, which introduced the character later known as Mickey Mouse and was the first time audiences experienced synchronized sound (TL). Walt's death in 1966 left the Empire in uncharted territory as the company had to learn how to fend for itself or did with Walt and Nine Truly Old Men. They needed new talent and skilled animators, and Eric Larson was the man for the job (W9OM). In death Walt left $80 million behind, $38 million (47.5%) went to the founding and funding of an animation program in Chouinard Art Institute, CalArts, room A113 (VF) (Quora). This class reaped the benefits of Disney's monopoly on the animation industry and trained the next generation of animators in the Disney way. This was originally Walt's goal and he was close to starting class. However, he was inconveniently side–tracked by dying and project was put on hold till Larson adopted it. Students of this class include Tim Burton, Brad Bird, Glen Keane, Nancy Beiman and many more, working on projects like The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Cars, and The Incredibles. Since the 1930s', animation has progressed from standard pencil and paper. Now, we have technological innovations such as Flash animation. Such innovations make the production of animation simpler and more affordable for that of the common man. As soon as an animator completes their work, the animator submits their work to the test camera department to see how well it is in motion. Did you also know that an in–between that hardly flows in the process of the test camera? When this incorrection is prominent, the entire frame is thrown away and revise the entire frame. Unlike the methods of 2D animation, flash animation is less stunning. Flash Animation is the predecessor of 2D Animation; Flash Animation is quicker and inexpensive. Besides flash animation being quicker, updated, and cheaper, the production of flash animation is often sloppy and inaccurate to what is being shown on the screen. For example, Teen Titans Go! , is a TV Program made from Flash Animation. Teen Titans Go! is a terrible show. Besides its lack of continuity to the original show, Teen Titans, The animation plays a key role why this show is terrible. The movement is robotic and cheap; the character design for each character is bland. After receiving criticism based solely on the animation practices of the show, the animators make a jab about their choppy animation. What is depicted in the scene of the jab is the dislocation of body parts that float toward the other side of the screen, away from that character's body. Adding on, 2D animation is better than Flash Animation for its usage of materials. Materials play a key role in art. Material can range mediums such as paint, pen, Technology, etc. 2D ... • 35. Disney Vs Pixar Research Paper One thing that has always given me interest is the process through which Disney movies go through in order to wow us like they always do. Both Disney Animation and Pixar movies focus mainly on being number one over Dreamworks movies and any other cartoon producers in the industry. Looking closely though, I realized there is more to it than just drawing and speaking for the characters. There's a process that can last from months up to years. Let's take a look firstly at how Disney Animated movies are made. What starts the good movie? All the animators and directors gather in a room to put together ideas for a movie. Here, ideas are tossed around and rejected until everyone settles on one. Characters are born as well as setting, plot and faith for every character. Now that they have the story set,its time for dialogue to be born. To my surprise, voice actors are called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are not drawn in color, and over 50,000 individual drawings can exist. The best artwork artists can draw scenarios but leave gaps between them if they didn't think of anything creative to put there. Later on an artist referred to as an "Inbetweener" comes to fill in the gaps. As soon as the entire film has been drawn on paper, they are sent to the inking department where they are copied onto clear celluloid acetate or "Cels" .This is paper that looks like clear plastic bags.. Once they have been copied, the inking department sends them to painting departments. Unlike coloring from a coloring book, the Cel's are flipped over and painted facing down. They do this so that characters look more realistic and with outline. Before the fully painted cel's get photographed., a background needs to be given to the character. That is why these characters are drawn on clear paper,so a background can be inserted behind them..The last step in for this is for the animators to take pictures of their finished cel's with backgrounds, add the dialogue and finish their ... According to both Kelly And Taylor you need about 3 to 4 years of schooling in either visual arts or animation. Kelly was an animator for Disney and now is a teacher of the subject. As stated in a previous paragraph the pay is around 30 to $63,000 in total. My second question I asked the two gentlemen, is if there is any math involved in the job, the answer is no. • 37. Is Academy Voters Are Ignorant About Animation? For it appears that the Academy has a differing opinion on these animated films. Amid Amidi, brings attention to how some judges' feel for their nominations, in his article, "Definitive Proof That Academy Voters Are Ignorant About Animation". One such judge stated how, "I have seen none of them. I have no interest whatsoever. That ended when I was 6. My son dragged me to a few when he was 6; I would seat him and go outside and make phone calls." This academy judge apparently didn't even waste their time with a vote as they abstained in the Best Animated Feature category. Most of these judges do not understand the amount of time and energy it takes to make an incredible animation. Half of these judges abstained in this feature, and the rest voted for Frozen, but these votes was due to the fact that their fellow judges voted for the same. Another chance for animations to be recognized at the Oscars is in the Best Animated Short Film, but still the judges hold the same bias for these features. For as another judge stated about the animated shorts which, "Was kind of an off–year. I wasn't bowled over... I'm a little unclear about what they did on that one – what was old footage, what was new footage – and I'm a little apprehensive about rooting for the giant. But I felt like I'd seen most of the others before..." (Amidi). • 39. The Magic Lantern Was Used In The Early Age Of Animation There were many devices that were used in the early age of animation. One of them was the magic lantern. The magic lantern was the first device to be made in the early age of animation. It was created in the 1600's by Athanasius Kircher. It projected images onto a wall. The magic lantern that Athanasius Kircher created was a small box. A hole was cut into a side and a light source was placed inside the box such as a candle. There was a curved mirror behind the light source, and in front of the light source was a lens. The mirror reflects the light from the light source and it goes through the lens and out of the hole in the box. If a glass slide with an image was placed in front of the hole in the box, the image would reflect onto the wall. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. What Are Fred Moore's Greatest Accomplishments Fred Moore grew up drawing. He used to submit artwork to the Los angles Junior Times, and many of his pieces made it into the magazine. Eventually, he made it over to the Disney Studio where he found himself a job in the animation department. Fred Moore is quite well known for redesigning Walt Disney's beloved Mickey Mouse character. Previously, the character had used a squash and stretch technique and was all circles and long cylindrical shapes for the arms and legs. Moore gave Mickey Mouse a much needed tune up and his design of Mickey Mouse is still used today. Aside from redesigning Mickey Mouse, Moore also worked on over 35 animated shorts, one of which was nominated for an academy award. In my opinion, one of Moore's greatest accomplishments was when Disney appointed him as Directing Animator for dwarves in the very first full length animated feature film to come out of the Disney Studio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy and Grumpy are the names of the dwarves that Moore gave so much personality to.
