The document discusses problems with photographs taken for a magazine. It notes poor lighting, unwanted objects in shots, and large shadows around the model. This made editing difficult and brought down the overall quality and professionalism of the images. To address these issues, the photographer plans to reshoot the images with better lighting in the studio, clear backgrounds, and attention to framing shots without unnecessary inclusions.
2. Overview:
• After taking into consideration my peer’s
feedback and personally overviewing my blog,
I have decided to reshoot my photographs due
to the fact that I believe they are of an
unsuitable standard and are bringing down
the overall ethos of my magazine. As a result
of this my products will consist of a new
model, better lighting and different outfits.
3. Poor Quality Images:
When it came to edit my videos it was very difficult
with regards to the fact that the images consisted of
incredibly poor lighting and poor location choice on
my behalf.
Image one shows a cable running into the shot,
despite the fact that this could be edited out, it
causes unnecessary hassle for myself as it is much
easier to simply reshoot the pictures to a higher
standard, allowing me to simply edit the images to
suit my magazine as opposed to fiddling about
removing unwanted items from the shot.
There is also a large shadow glowing around my
model which makes editing out the background
particularly hard. This then brings down the whole
contrast of the image, making it look incredibly poor
quality, dull and unprofessional.
4. Poor Quality Images:
Once again the poor framing of the shot has
incorporated unnecessary background
features into the image which could have
been easily avoided. When taking these
images it is as though I was more concerned
with the models outfit that I forgot to
ensure that the location surrounding her
was clear from all protruding items.
As the above picture reiterates, the
shadows are once again very prominent in
the images reinforcing the consistent bad
quality of the full batch of images.
5. How to avoid this happening again:
When shooting my images for the second time I
will ensure that I make full use of the studio lights
that the college has to offer and make sure all
surrounding areas are free from unrequired items
in the shot.
To make editing or manipulating the images
easier, I will take my images with my model
against a plain white wall which will not
encourage shadows of any sort as I will ensure
that the lighting is perfectly accurate before
beginning the shoot.
With regards to mise en scene I will also ensure
that the genre is equally as prominent as that
shown in the first batch of images.
