1. What Makes A Good Front Cover Magazine Photo?
After my experience of taking many photos of many objects ranging from sceneries to group photos and
many more, it was clear to me that some weren’t good photos and some were amazing. By going
through the photos I was able to establish the essentials for a good quality image.
Good and Bad Points: -
The image must be sharp and clear
Avoid any blurred images
The lighting of the model should be even throughout the image, it must also be facing towards
the model so that you can see the model clearly in the image
A simple, white background would be reasonable unless the background behind the model is a
more suitable approach
The background should also allow the model to stand out in which would be helpful if I was to
cut the model out from the background
Make sure that the lens of the camera is clean, this would prevent any distorted parts of the
image – e.g. a smudge in the lens before a photo is take could lead to a slight blur in one area of
the photo which would make the photo useless
Use of camera angles and different type of shots for just one pose would be beneficial as there
would be some photos that would look better than the first photo taken
