2. Final Cut Pro
Final cut pro is a software I used to edit
my footage in order to create a film
opening. Final cut pro has many editing
techniques which can be used for when
editing. Final cut pro was very useful as it
allowed us to use many things such as
cuts, fades, transitions and allowing us to
change the speed of footage. This all
played a key part into making our film
opening a success. During editing we
would be able to arrange our footage by
creating bins, Bins allowed us to know
where certain clips are instead of having
to search for them which would save us a
lot of time. Being able to slow down a clip
was very beneficial for us as it allowed us
to include a bit of footage which we never
thought we would include in to our
opening. Being able to do cuts and fades
made our opening look very professional
and allowed our opening to be of the
highest quality possible. Overall without
final cut pro the editing process would
have been very much harder and a lot
more time consuming.
3. Motion & QuickTime conversion
Motion was used to make the titles and our own institutional logos for our film
opening. In motion we could change the font, the size of the text and many
other things. Once decided on a title name we could add behaviours to the
text, being able to choose how the text comes in and how the text leaves.
Motion was very useful as it allowed us to see the different possibilities
regarding the behaviours, this is really important as motion helped us find a
behaviour which was suitable for our film opening.
QuickTime Conversion is a software which enabled us to convert our final
movie, audience feedback and vlogs into a sequence which made the,
compatible to be uploaded on to websites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
4. Slide share, PowerPoint & Prezi
PowerPoint and Prezi were both used to present my planning and research for
my blog. PowerPoint and Prezi are very similar however PowerPoint is the
easier to use out of the 2. PowerPoint has a lot of similarities to ‘Word’ which is
why it is very simple.
Prezi however is a little more complicated then PowerPoint as it takes more
time to get things how you want it. Although Prezi is more time consuming it
does offer a lot more different variety of options which PowerPoint does not.
Because of this reason, I have come to the conclusion I prefer Prezi, the reason
why I am doing this on PowerPoint and not Prezi is because I am relatively new
to Prezi and more familiar with PowerPoint. Prezi also enhances presentation
skills, as it looks a lot better then PowerPoint.
Slide share is a website which allowed me to upload my research and planning
work to my blog, through embedding. Slide share is very useful because it puts
the work on to our blogs as well as showing similar work to mine, which is
useful as it shows me what I need improving on.
