3. We used final cut pro to edit together our short film. Using this new type of software proved
to be difficult at times as none of us had had much experience using it before. However
after a few tries we found out it was fairly simple to use and it allowed us to edit together
our film quickly whilst still looking closely at the detail and precision of our film.
Wix was used through my A2 coursework to present my work. It has made it easy to make
my coursework interesting to look at and simple to access.
We used motion to create our ident. The idea for our ident was designed first and then we
found that motion would be the best way to create it. We struggled to really grasp how to
use this software at first as it was very different from anything we had used before. After a
few hours trying to work it out we managed to create a successful ident that we used
before our film.
4. We had to use this to create the music for our film. We had found a song onYouTube that
liked however we only wanted one part to continuously repeat until the end. Final cut pro
wasn’t as detailed and accurate as we had liked and once we asked for help from our
teacher. He suggested we tried to use garage band to loop the verse that we wanted.
Once again it was a challenge to understand how to use it, although it was fairly simple
and we created the music we wanted rather quickly.
Using Photoshop wasn’t as hard as the other software as we were all confident using it,
although we had only used the basics of it before. We used this for both our ancillary
tasks. Using this had made our fil poster and film review look professional as well as
simple and intriguing to the audience.
We used illustrator to design our ident which we then created in motion. Illustrator is a lot
like Photoshop so we had little trouble using it and were fairly confident about using it.
5. YouTube played a big part in the creation of our film.To begin with we used it to research
different types of social realism films to get a clear idea on the conventions and different
issues that were raised in them. We gradually began using it to upload our own things to
then embed into our Wix blogs. WithoutYouTube it would've been difficult to present our
film on this type of platform.
Using the camera was very simple as we had all used one numerous times prior to filming.
the only difference being this camera is of a higher quality than we had previously used
making the footage clearer and look more professional.
The tripod was also simple to use as the camera connected to the top of it. It was also
very light so t was easy to carry around when traveling to filming locations.
The only challenge of the filming process was the microphone. When filming outside it
picked up a lot of unneeded diegetic sounds which would drown out the sounds we
actually wanted. This was soon handled in final cut pro however.
6. Question one: I used Prezi for this question as it is a simple way of present work that also
makes it look professional. I had used Prezi multiple times before so I was very confident
when it came to use it again. Its easy to use as you simple just select a template and then
add in your own text and images into the presentation.
Question two: For this question I used Wix to layout and present my answer. I chose to
use this as it didn’t need to look too fancy or stylish. However using Wix allowed it to still
look professional.
Question three: I used word for question three as it was a simple way of presenting the
question. I used Scribd to upload it and make it accessible to use within Wix. This website
allows you to upload word and PowerPoint documents so they are easy to look at online,
it is also very simple as you only have to create your document and then upload it onto
Scribd to then use the embed code to transfer it into Wix.
Question four: For this question I used PowerPoint to present the question as I had a lot
of points to make. This makes it interesting to read. I used Slideshare to upload it onto my
Wix
