2. In the research and planning stages, I have been recording my work on different
technology. I kept my blog up to date as this is where I could record my planning
and findings for my products. I choose to use Voki for a couple of things, it allowed
me to break up big paragraphs and it made it more fun to listen to as its interactive.
I really enjoyed using voki as it was very easy to use and makes your work more
interactive and easier to listen to.
I found that Slideshare was really good for displaying your photo shoot for film
posters and easy to access a detailed analysis
and my evaluation. Slideshare allows you to
embed a PowerPoint onto your blog very
simply.
I used YouTube to present quite a bit of my work, it
was mostly used to present my draft trailers and a
couple of people’s auditions. On the other hand I could
place videos on Wordpress and I was then able to
write an analysis underneath. This was useful as I
didn't have to keep going back to YouTube.

3. The construction part of my coursework meant that using different formats was
essential. These formats included: Photoshop, iMovie and Livetype and
FinalCut. I found it much easier to use Photoshop as I spent a lot of time on it last
year. This year I used Photoshop to create my film poster and my magazine front
cover. I felt at ease using Photoshop as I knew how to edit all of the photos and how
to change the text and organise it how I wanted it to look.
IMovie was the first software I used when I first had to edit my filming footage. It
gave me the access to import the files I needed and allowed me to put them in the
order that I wanted them to go. It let me add in transitions between each clip, most
of the time I added in a fade to black transition as it fits in with the horror genre.
Slides could be added in also this was helpful when I needed to add in the film
company logo, the film title and any taglines. IMovie was very helpful when it came
to putting a music or sound effect in the trailer.
LiveType allowed me to create my film company logo with a special effect, it lets
you change the size, colour and font etc. Once the text had an effect on it, it
removed the text from the timeline. The software was rather confusing to use
however it created a professional looking company logo at the end of it.
4. FinalCut is a more advanced version of IMovie, at first this software was
complicated to work. This was because I was used to using IMovie to edit the trailer.
It is similar to IMovie as it allowed me to import different files onto it and allowed
me to edit it exactly the same. However, as I was used to using IMovie I struggled to
get the hang of FinalCut. So we made a group decision to edit and create our film
trailer on IMovie.
