Owen learned several technologies through constructing his media production project. He began with no experience using the blogging platform Blogger, but over time gained confidence and improved the quality of his blog posts by adding more detail and embedding content from other sites like Prezi and Zoho Docs. To film the production, Owen's group used an iPad Air and iPhone flashlight since their proper camera was not working, but found the iPad camera quality was surprisingly good. They also used a GoPro to capture CCTV footage. 2. When I first started media AS, I had never used the website Blogger before. With me
being a person that never saw the point in writing a blog or a diary when I was
younger, I wondered how I would use the website to present my work. At first, I do not
think that my content was of a very high standard. I think my posts were very generic,
and brief. However, over the time I have been using blogger I feel that I’ve gained in
confidence and think that my posts have become better and better, with more recent
ones having more detail and using a variety of different websites/ software to display
it. Prezi has been one I have used multiple times as it seems presents my work in a
similar way to PowerPoint, so I can make them look visually pleasing to look at as well
as containing the key information. Another website I used regularly was Zoho Docs,
which allowed me to upload word documents and then post them on my blog via an
embedded link.

3. With the production, the technology we used to film was an iPad Air
and an iPhone 5 as a torch placing it underneath the iPad to light the
shots. We were going to use a proper camera but when we came to
using it, the recording wasn’t working so we had to improvise. The
quality of the camera on the iPad was surprisingly good and captured
everything in a good quality with the torch helping to light the shots.
We also used a GoPro to capture the CCTV footage. This also provided a
good quality picture which meant it made it a lot easier to edit because
it was clear what was in the shot.

4. The one piece of software we used for editing was Final Cut Pro X, this was available to us on the
Macs at college. It is an editing software that’s used by professionals and costs £230, considerably
cheaper than other professional editing software like Sony Vegas Pro. I found it rather difficult to
use at first but over the time I was constantly using it to first edit our preliminary and then our final
production, I managed to find multiple features that helped us to create a professional looking
product. One feature that was added was the CCTV overlay to the original GoPro footage; this
helped to make it look like it was an actual CCTV camera. The greyscale filter we also applied made
the setting look grittier, with various objects then standing out in the background. For example, in
the shot on the left various power tools are visible. The viewer could come to the assumption that
the antagonist uses these as weapons and I helps to create questions about who he is and why he
behaves in a way that deviates social norms.
