TrustArc Webinar - Stay Ahead of US State Data Privacy Law Developments
Question 4
1. During our research and planning stages, we used Blogger to store all our data
that we collected. The reason we chose to use Blogger was that it was a simple
and easy format, that allowed us to quickly store and retrieve our information
(such as drafts of work, and the video product). In our previous works we had
always used Blogger, and we felt that there weren’t really any other good blog
sites that matched up to Blogger in terms of quality so we used it again.
One of the main reasons for using Blogger is that it allows us to share all our
information amongst ourselves, no matter where we are. This is makes all our
work more accessible, whereas the alternative (keeping all our work stored in a
folder on someone’s PC) would limit how easy it was to access our work. Blogger
also allowed us to be more interactive with the way we presented our work. We
were able to embed videos and other interactive software such as Slideshares
and Prezi’s. These are all ways of making our work more aesthetically pleasing to
the eye, and allowing the viewer to be more active in the way they view our
work.
Another technology we used was Photoshop, a photo manipulation program. We
used this to create our ancillary tasks such as the digipak and the advert. We
used this because it allows for us to create items in a variety of formats, allowing
us to pick the most relevant format for uploading to Blogger. Photoshop also
allowed for us to add a variety of effects to our ancilliary products. Examples of
this can be seen in the glow effect that we gave the text, or the background effect
that we put on the advert and digipak.
For the construction of the music video, we used Final Cut Express. This is a
video editing program ideal for making something such as a music video. On our
AS project we used Imovie, and it turns out that Final Cut Express is a superior
improvement over Imovie. At first Final Cut seemed more complicated than
Imovie, but after a few tutorials, we managed to get the hang of it. One of the
most prominent features about Final Cut, other than the hundreds of effects that
can be applied to the video, was the easy way it allowed us to sync up the audio
with the video. This made it much easier to make the lip synching look authentic,
and I imagine it would have been a lot harder to do on Imovie.
In conclusion we have learned a variety of new techniques, across a range of
technologies. We are also pleased with how our music video turned out, and if
we were to have another go at it, we may try to edit a few things to make them
perfect, but other than that, most of it would stay the same.
