Tech-Forward - Achieving Business Readiness For Copilot in Microsoft 365
q 6
1.
2. During the construction of our media product we have
learnt about a lot of new technology as, we used a lot of
different platforms and technology to get the best out of our
work.
Such as:
0 Final Cut Pro
0 Live Type
0 GarageBand
0 AudioTool
0 Motion
0 Mobile Phones and Communication
3. Final Cut Pro
This software was used throughout the editing process
of our media product. This played a key part in the
editing and production of our media product as it
allowed us to edit all of our footage. As a group we
found Final Cut Pro very useful because it allowed us to
play around with our footage with the fading tool,
timeline, video transitions and the ability to change the
speed of our shots. This helped us produce some high
quality shots because when we filmed our time lapse
shot it wasn’t as effective as we expected due to the
speed but Final Cut Pro allowed us to speed up the shot
which helped us get a great shot for our product. We
learnt how to long and transfer our footage on to a
Final Cut Pro project from a camera which helped us
because our group lacked knowledge on how to get our
footage on to the project before we had been taught so.
As a group I believe us learning how to use Final Cut
Pro will help us produce high quality work as we have
learnt how to use every aspect of the software to our
advantage.
4. Live Type
Live Type helped us in the process of
picking the right titles for the
opening of our film as we need them
to be as effective as possible. This
software taught us all about the
different sizes, fonts, transitions and
colours. We were able to create as
many titles with different styles to
capture the right one as we were all
comfortable in using the software.
However, during the process of our
titles we realised that the styles that
the software was offering us was not
what we were looking for which
helped us a lot because by us being
able to experiment with the software
we had enough time to look
elsewhere for our titles. Our
knowledge of the software will help
us in the future as we will now know
what to expect from Live Type which
will help us save time in the future.
5. GarageBand
GarageBand is a software application
that allowed us to create music or
sounds for our film opening. Even
though we used AudioTool to create
our music that went over the party
scene, GarageBand gave us the
accessibility to thousands of different
unique sound effects that we were
able to choose from to use during our
institutional logos. For example,
GarageBand helped us find the ‘Swish’
sound that we used as our
institutional logos appeared.
GarageBand allowed us to play
around with different instruments as
we were able to try loop different
sounds from different instruments
together to create a party song which
appeared to not be as successful as
we had hoped.
6. AudioTool
As a group we believed for our party
scene to be a success we needed to have
a very effective and realistic song.
Therefore, we used music software
called AudioTool which is an online
copyright free music tool that allows
you to create any song with what they
have in store. We had problems with
using this software at the beginning as
it was a complicated setup of things that
we weren’t too familiar with, after
several efforts at making an effective
beat we found out where we were going
wrong after looking at tutorials and
other students that were comfortable
with the software.
The features that we learnt how to use
to create an effective song were:
0 Loops
0 Kicks
0 Claps
0 Machiniste
0 Minimixer
0 Synths
7. MotionMotion is a programme that helped us create
our institutional logos, titles and add lights to
our party scene shots. Our institutional logos
were created on motion as allows you to create
shapes, record movement and add behaviours
from the inspector; this helped us create logos
that were able to reflect us as a group as
simple effects can give away many messages as
we learnt from our previous research on
institutions. The titles that we used in the
opening of our film were created on motion
because after we looked at what Live Type had
to offer and found out that motion was the
better option as it allowed us to add colour
transitions to our titles and this helped us
represent them as party lights without them
coming our pixelated. Motion allowed us to
add extra lighting to our shots which were a
major factor why our party scene looks
plausible and realistic as we were able to add
different colour lights to each scene which
added to our original plain lights. Final Cut Pro
and Motion were significantly effective during
the editing of our final product as they both
work well together as you can send clips from
each software and edit them at your will.
8. Mobile Phones and
Communication
As a group we all had a smart
phone which helped us
communicate over the Holidays
and Weekends; this was very
useful as it helped us keep work on
our teamwork and organization
skills as we were constantly
updating each other over our ideas
or work that needed to be done for
us to produce a high quality final
product. It helped us great group
discussions over social networking
sites which helped us use our
resources well as we were trying to
gain an advantage as we
approached deadlines.
