1.
2. For our media product we used and learnt about many
different technologies for our final product. These
technologies were contributed whilst editing.
The technologies we used were:
• Audiotool
• GarageBand
• Motion
• Final Cut Pro
• AfterEffects
• LiveType
3. The majority of our media product was based on a party scene. In order for our group to
fulfil its ambitions of making the party scene look crazy and extravagant we had to also
include a funky beat which matches the footage. This funky dub step beat was created on
‘Audiotool.’ Audiotool is a online copyright free music tool which allows you to create any
music you want with the beats they have in store. This technology can be accessed on the
browser. At first our group was having difficulties with creating the beat as we did not
know what ‘Loops’, ‘Synths’ and ‘Minimixer’ we want to use, however we overcame this
issue by searching ‘House’ music in the search bar and using the beats they had. We have
learnt that this technology has many interesting features and can bring exciting music to
peoples ears. Also, we learnt how to create a track by using many different beats.
4. GarageBand is a music technology which you can access freely once you have
downloaded it. Furthermore, it is similar to Audiotool as both technologies
require the same outcome, however we used GarageBand for our institutional
logos. We learnt how to use the instruments such as the guitar and piano
which helped us to create loops and produce a beat for our media product. We
used many different sound effects to give a effective ‘swish’ noise. The
process of creating the beat was rather easy as the technology was easy to
follow and simple.
5. Motion is a technology which you can create many different pictures such as
institutional logos. We used motion to create two institutional logos. We
learnt that motion is very hard to figure out as there are many different
designs to choose. It took quiet a while for our group to make our logos as we
were indecisive about what our logo should aspire to look like. We learnt to
use different effects, colours and symbols to create a logo and the speed of
how long you want your logo to take.
6. Final Cut Pro is a technology used to create videos, we used Final cut pro to
create our media product. We learnt how to ‘Log and transfer’ our footage
onto the program and from there creating the video. We learned how to edit
our videos by using ‘fade’, ‘trimming’ clips and many more. Moreover, we
learned how to increase and decrease the speed of our footage, this came in
handy for our group as we wanted to decrease and increase the speed of our
footage to make it look like a party. We also learnt how to increase and
decrease the brightness and contrast, this came in handy for us as our some of
our footage was extremely bright and dark which was a issue. Overall, we
learned how to export our video into a ‘QuickTime’ movie and produce our
final media product.
7. AfterEffects is a technology which you can develop your footage by adding
effects onto them. For our party scene we used AfterEffects to change the
lighting to give our media product a kaleidoscopic, multicoloured effect. Some
of our footage came out to be extremely bright and dark in the wrong places
so this was a serious issue. We overcame this issue by adding lighting effects
to our party scene footage and giving them different colours such as flickering
beams of red and green. We learnt how to use the lighting effects such as
moving the lighting to a specific area on the footage to give a interesting
effect.
8. LiveType is a technology used to create text on videos, we used LiveType for
our titles. We learned how to use LiveType such as how to change the
font, size and colour which helped us create our titles. We learned how to
create effects such as the boldness and transparent text and how to put it
onto our video.
9. In order for us to complete our final media product we used communication
technology such as social networking sites and phones to keep in touch with
every member of our group to finalise our film opening. This was extremely
successful as we were all up to date and focused on completing our task.
