2. This survey shows that while the majority
of the people asked were male, there was
still a good balance of genders including
those not specific to any binary. This
shouldn’t heavily affect how the final
product will be produced as nothing
should be specific to one gender.
The results of this survey show
that out of all the people
surveyed that the majority fell
into the age group of 14-18. This
means that the final prediction
will have to be suitable for
people of ages 14-18.
3. This set of survey results shows
which sub-genre people would most
like to combined with the thriller
genre. The results show that the
majority wold like a psychological
thriller which will mean the final
production will need to fall within
the confines of a psychological
thriller genre conventions.
This survey was to assist in finding
characteristics to work into the main
character. No one wanted a
protagonist who is scared and
panicked which means these traits
will be minimal to non-existent in the
protagonist. Their strongest
character traits will be that they are
smart and stoic.
4. This set of responses shows that the
audience would like the opening to be
set in an urban setting with some
aspects of a spooky setting. They
would not like to see any setting
within the countryside or a forest.
This question set out to answer the
question of what the audience would
like the atmosphere to be like, The
majority wanted the atmosphere to
be tense which means the final
production will have a tense
atmosphere, the next largest group of
the audience wanted an uneasy
atmosphere which can be paired with
a tense atmosphere to make appeal to
a larger selection of the audience.
5. This question shows what theme the
audience would like to see
presented in the thriller.
A heavy majority asked for mystery
to be a key theme to the thriller so
everything in the opening will have
to build a sense of mystery.
This part of the survey sees what
part an opening the audience sees
as more important. The results show
that the audience think that
establishing character is the most
important thing meaning that we
will need to focus on introducing
characters key to the plot.
6. This section of the survey aims to look
at which film the audience would
much rather watch. Most people said
they would prefer to watch Psycho.
From this we can get a sense of the
atmosphere and other film content
the audience would like to see which
we can work into the final product.
This question aimed to see how the
audience would like the opening to
be paced. An over whelming amount
of those asked said that they wanted
the pace to be fairly slow instead of a
quick pace which means the opening
will be set a slow pace.
7. This question asks the audience
which sound track they would prefer
to here over the opening. The
majority said that they would like a
slow drawn out sound track. This
means that we will need include a
soundtrack of this type in the final
production.
