During their final major project assignment, the student researched themes and ideas that fit their brief and pitch. They created mood boards and brainstormed designs for their watercolor final project. They chose to design a futuristic character in retro clothing. They made a simple sketch of the character then added watercolor, which was difficult to balance without the painting becoming a mess. Overall, the student found the independent work of research, production, and meeting deadlines for their final major project to be difficult and challenging.

1. Evaluation –
During my assignment of my final major project my production of my final water colour started with the
research into my selected time and story. I decided that I had to choose themes and ideas that suited
and best match what I was writing about in my brief and spoke about in my pitch. I found the process
both a challenge and an open opportunity to do with it what I want. So when I started the production I
started by creating mood boards and brainstorms of how I wanted my water colour and final design to
look and how I wanted it to fit into my game. The difficulty with creating my design is the fact that I
chose to create a futuristic character that wore retro type clothing, so long worn coat and clothing of the
same wear and tare. The mood boards in my production log show these types of clothing and designs so
once I had compiled these images and drawn from them, I saw a clear and easy design for my final
character. When I started my final product I decided to make a simple sketch of my character, then later
I added water colour for my finished project. Adding water colour to the sketch was difficult because I
needed to find the right balance between the water, paint and shade so that it would not be simple and
a mess by the time I finished the water coloring of my picture. I also knew that once I had started the
water colour on a specific segment there was no going back to change what I had previously drawn.
Overall I found my FMP difficult and challenging as I had to work independently for the project and all
the research and production was up to me to find and compile into a production log and meet within
the boundaries of the schedule.
