1. Survey analysis
How old are you ?
As i handed my survey out to students at school, it could have been
predicted that most responses would fall within the 15-20 year old
bracket (8/10). This may affect my results if this demographic is more
aware of genre conventions for example.
What Gender are you ?
This shouldn't affect the meaning or quality of my results, but is
interesting to know.
How many music videos do you watch every week ?
The majority circled the 1-5 videos box. This could suggest that the
people who filled in the survey are relatively familiar with conventions
surrounding music videos and are aware of basic media concepts.
How did the video make you feel ?
Most people ticked that the music video made them feel happy,
relaxed or feel good. I am happy with this as it suggests that people
enjoyed watching what i had produced.
Out of 1-10 how would you rate the editing of this video?
The average for this was around 6. I would agree with this as i know
that there are still areas that i would change if i where to make
another music video. For example i would have payed more attention
when planning specific shots before shooting to allow my film to take
up the time required by the music .
2. Did you feel their was a narrative to this video ?
Most seemed unaware of the narrative theme running throughout my
video. Nobody realized the main sequence of the film was the dogs
dream. However, some comments suggested ‘it was just a feel good
film’ which was to a certain extent true.
Did you enjoy this video?
Everybody who was surveyed stated that they enjoyed watching my
video. This of course makes me very happy and has given me a
certain satisfaction in achieving its completion.
Would you watch this video again?
Six out of the ten surveyed said they would watch it again. I see this
as a good figure because it means that people enjoyed watching my
video.
