The document discusses market research conducted to help determine the target audience and content for a new music magazine. It involved surveying 15 participants, most of whom were female, about their music preferences, favorite artists, and what should be included in and the price of the magazine. The research found that R&B music was most popular and that participants favored including CDs and posters as promotional features in the magazine and agreed £2 would be a reasonable price.

Analysis..Questionaire.Complete
1. My first question was to assess the criteria of my
target audience and to clarify the number of males
& females participating in my survey. I did this to
help me determined what type of bands I should
feature in my magazine as well as what gender or
age group it should be aimed at, influencing the font
types and colours I include. However my survey
wasn’t entirely fair as I questioned more females
than males. The majority of those who participated
were female (11/15), therefore I have to take into
account the female influence.
I then questioned my participants
on their favourite genre of music or
the music they listen to most
frequent. From this I was able to see
what was most popular and this
allowed me to select the genre I
would base my magazine around.
I then furthered my research by
investigating popular artist that fall
under the genre of ‘R&B’ and are
most popular in the public eye
today. There wasn’t a varied
response and my participants were
happy to see any of my selected
artists featured in my magazine,
therefore enabling me to choose
who to include.
2. Like anyone aiming to produce a
new magazine, market research is
vital, so I felt it necessary to assess
what my target audience would
consider a reasonable price to pay
for a magazine. The majority ruled
that £2 would be the most realistic
cost of an up and coming magazine.
The following to questions were
aimed to evaluate what other
articles, competitions or ‘free-bee’s’
to include. The overall response
suggested both unsigned and signed
artists should be included. Cd’s were
the most requested feature, with
posters being the second popular.
Only two respondents were not
interested in having any
promotional features.
