What did you like about your image?
Image 1-I like how my spider does actually look like a spider. Also. I like that
my spider is eye catching because it is has bright colours like blue and orange
on it.
Image 2- I like how my crab has beach imagery within it; there is ocean water,
rocks, shells, seaweed and sand. The outline of the crab is sharp so you can
tell exactly what it is.
What would you improve if you did it again?
Image 1-I would have done more with the background. I would add a colour
like green to make the spider come forward. Also I would use a black stroke
on all the layers, to give the spider definition.
Image 2- I could of used more pictures relating to crabs and beaches, I think
that would create a mosaic effect in the image.
Rotoscope
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that you can tell which person I have rotoscoped: Nicki
Minaj. I like the eyelashes in the image because even though
they are small, there are still defined. I think the shadowing in
the image is good because it creates more of a realistic feel to
the image.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would improve the image by adding more shadows to the face
and body, to make the image closer to the original one. Also I
would add more highlights to her hair.
Film Quotes
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the way the facial features have turned
out, especially the teeth; they all stand out and
are defined.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would have added more detail to the picture
,especially to the background of the picture and
Raoul’s face.
Text Based
Text Based
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
1- I like that I have made lots of variations of the
same text. I especially like the multi-coloured one
2-I like how you can tell what the picture is
showing.
What would you improve if you did it again?
1-It could be more colourful.
2-I would potentially try having a separate picture
for each letter, like I would have bacon for the letter
G, eggs for the letter R and so on.
Comic Book
Comic Book
Comic Book
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
Image 1- I like how the image looks somewhat realistic. I like how you can see
clearly who the picture is of: Black Widow from Avengers.
Image 2- I really like the black shadows within the image in contrast with the light
and bright colours surrounding them.
Image 3- I like that this image is eye-catching because of the bright colours used. It
has a nice pop art feel to it.
What would you improve if you did it again?
Image 1- the image is rather dark so I would do something to soften those harsh
shadows.
Image 2- there is a big chunk of blue towards the left side of the image so I would
add in other colour ; this would give more visual variety.
Image 3-I think that the image may be too bright as there is no contrast between
light and dark.
Photo Story
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the story board is easy to follow because it
reads like a book, from left to right. I like that my
story shows what the character’s thoughts as well
as what is happening in the picture.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would maybe of laid the page out differently it
makes it look more visually appealing. I think it
would look a lot better if I increase the comic book
effect; it isn’t very noticeable in the story board.
Illustration
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that you tell what the picture is of, which it
is flounder even though you can’t tell due to the
scanning.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would add in colour because it looks a bare
being just in pencil. I would use a darker or
thicker pen so it may scan better.
Narrative Environment
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like how the sand and ocean have texture on
them. I also like how the sky is bright and has an
ombre effect to it.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would of rotoscoped in images so the beach
doesn’t look as bare. For example a crab.

Dimensions
(number of pages and page size) My book will be 8-12 pages.
Story Overview
(Provide an outline of your story)
The story is of two teenage twin girls. They were separated because of a curse which
was put place by Hydrella, the sea witch, due to an agreement with the Sea King to
save his wife. The curse meant that the girls would be pulled apart -one of them would
live as a human and the other as a mermaid. They have no clue each other exist.
The purpose of the story is them meeting each other and how to lift the curse. The
human twin, Belle, goes swimming and discovers her sister ,Arielle ,underneath the
water but the sea witch tries to stop this.

Audience
(Think about who you are targeting as your audience. Consider age, gender, class,
location and other characteristics which could define your audience.)
Seen as my main character are female, the story may appeal more to girls as they
can sympathise and relate to them easier than a male. I want my story to be
interesting but I want it to read simply because my target audience are about 5-10
years old. The class of my audience are likely to be ABC1 because the parents will
have a lot of money to buy their children the book, however I feel my book still
appeals to children and parents of lower classes.
Production Methods
(Explain the methods you are going to use to produce your pages. Show us the
thinking behind your decisions for a more detail response
Seen as my story takes place under water so I can’t really use the photography and
comic book effect; I don’t have a mermaid and I can’t go to a tropical beach in the
time I have. I feel like using shapes and rotoscoping will be the best option for me; I
will be able to create the shapes for my book more easily. I could circle shapes for
their faces. I could create the mermaid tail through rotoscoping as it may be hard to
create using shapes.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
-good description
-easy to understand the plot
- Well thought out idea
-could explain page size
-some grammar error
-describe more about the curse
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
-good idea generation well explained and detailed
-good use of schemes to separate different
characters/ideas
-Add more images to the mood board such as
realistic images.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
- It strongly explains the basis of the story
- They ideas for the creation for the graphics is
ideal for the situation
- Maybe explain how the sea witch tries to stop
things
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
- The 5 intial ideas all have a large amount of detail
in them and show a lot of thought processes
- Add a few more images into the mood boards,
possibly showing how you think the characters
might look like, or extra characters
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
-Detailed explanation of the story
-States the exact product methods that will be
used.
- Could include more information regarding the
curse’s implication with the witch.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
- Detailed mind map for each section and has
thought about each character that will feature in
the story.
- A range pictures chosen.
- Maybe could of thought more about the text.
Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
My feed back was mostly positive because they said I had a good description and story.
The only negatives was that I could add more photos to mood board and add more
detail about the curse and the sea witch.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
I agree about the good description because I feel like I did provide a lot of detail in my
mind map. I also agree with the negatives too because I could add a lot more photos to
my mood board. I could add more photo to do with text because text will be an
important as the graphics in my book.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
I was told that my grammatical errors but even though this is true, I don’t think it really
affect the quality of my idea generation. Other than that ,there are no other
disagreement; all of the rest was constructive criticism.

The little mermaids –
In my story there will be two twins except one is a mermaid (Arielle) and one is living as a
human (Belle). The plot is basically bringing the twins back together and lifting the curse
that separating them in the first place.
The background of the story is ….. When their mother was giving birth to them ,she is
struggling and he likely to die. The sea witch witnesses this and offers
her help. She say’s she will be able help but at a price. One twin will have to live as a
human while the other continues as a mermaid. He agrees reluctantly but he loves his wife
too much. The sea witch tries to save the wife but she can't, although he still has to one
child.
1-The story starts in the castle with the human twin princess and she wonders what lies
beneath the ocean.
2-The story cuts to under the water, to belle swimming in the ocean and find something
interesting that belongs to a mermaid. She shows her maid.
4-She has a dream about being a mermaid and is curious to find out more.
She decides to go in the water again and she sees the mermaid. She watches her from a
5- She decides to go in the water again to gather more information. The sea witch tries to
get assist to stop this .As a result ,Belle loses her breath and her sister finds her, she
saves her-which actually brings them closer.
6-They realise they look the same so they don’t really what to do about it. The story
rewinds back to 16 years ago to when curse had been placed. That twins had to be
separated to save their mother despite her dying.

The sea queen was carrying two twins-Arielle and Belle.
The sea queen was very ill following their birth.
The Sea king brought in the sea witch to try save her.
However there was a catch; one twin would live as a human and one as mermaid-they wouldn’t be allowed to
trespass on each other's territory or they would face the consequences.
The Sea King agreed but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to save his wife.
However, the curse still went ahead therefore Belle was changed into human.

  • 4. Evaluation What did you like about your image? Image 1-I like how my spider does actually look like a spider. Also. I like that my spider is eye catching because it is has bright colours like blue and orange on it. Image 2- I like how my crab has beach imagery within it; there is ocean water, rocks, shells, seaweed and sand. The outline of the crab is sharp so you can tell exactly what it is. What would you improve if you did it again? Image 1-I would have done more with the background. I would add a colour like green to make the spider come forward. Also I would use a black stroke on all the layers, to give the spider definition. Image 2- I could of used more pictures relating to crabs and beaches, I think that would create a mosaic effect in the image.
  • 6. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that you can tell which person I have rotoscoped: Nicki Minaj. I like the eyelashes in the image because even though they are small, there are still defined. I think the shadowing in the image is good because it creates more of a realistic feel to the image. What would you improve if you did it again? I would improve the image by adding more shadows to the face and body, to make the image closer to the original one. Also I would add more highlights to her hair.
  • 8. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the way the facial features have turned out, especially the teeth; they all stand out and are defined. What would you improve if you did it again? I would have added more detail to the picture ,especially to the background of the picture and Raoul’s face.
  • 11. Evaluation What did you like about your image? 1- I like that I have made lots of variations of the same text. I especially like the multi-coloured one 2-I like how you can tell what the picture is showing. What would you improve if you did it again? 1-It could be more colourful. 2-I would potentially try having a separate picture for each letter, like I would have bacon for the letter G, eggs for the letter R and so on.
  • 15. Evaluation What did you like about your image? Image 1- I like how the image looks somewhat realistic. I like how you can see clearly who the picture is of: Black Widow from Avengers. Image 2- I really like the black shadows within the image in contrast with the light and bright colours surrounding them. Image 3- I like that this image is eye-catching because of the bright colours used. It has a nice pop art feel to it. What would you improve if you did it again? Image 1- the image is rather dark so I would do something to soften those harsh shadows. Image 2- there is a big chunk of blue towards the left side of the image so I would add in other colour ; this would give more visual variety. Image 3-I think that the image may be too bright as there is no contrast between light and dark.
  • 17. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the story board is easy to follow because it reads like a book, from left to right. I like that my story shows what the character’s thoughts as well as what is happening in the picture. What would you improve if you did it again? I would maybe of laid the page out differently it makes it look more visually appealing. I think it would look a lot better if I increase the comic book effect; it isn’t very noticeable in the story board.
  • 19. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that you tell what the picture is of, which it is flounder even though you can’t tell due to the scanning. What would you improve if you did it again? I would add in colour because it looks a bare being just in pencil. I would use a darker or thicker pen so it may scan better.
  • 21. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like how the sand and ocean have texture on them. I also like how the sky is bright and has an ombre effect to it. What would you improve if you did it again? I would of rotoscoped in images so the beach doesn’t look as bare. For example a crab.

  • 28. Proposal Dimensions (number of pages and page size) My book will be 8-12 pages. Story Overview (Provide an outline of your story) The story is of two teenage twin girls. They were separated because of a curse which was put place by Hydrella, the sea witch, due to an agreement with the Sea King to save his wife. The curse meant that the girls would be pulled apart -one of them would live as a human and the other as a mermaid. They have no clue each other exist. The purpose of the story is them meeting each other and how to lift the curse. The human twin, Belle, goes swimming and discovers her sister ,Arielle ,underneath the water but the sea witch tries to stop this. Export Format Jpeg Advantages: Disadvantages:
  • 29. Deadline Audience (Think about who you are targeting as your audience. Consider age, gender, class, location and other characteristics which could define your audience.) Seen as my main character are female, the story may appeal more to girls as they can sympathise and relate to them easier than a male. I want my story to be interesting but I want it to read simply because my target audience are about 5-10 years old. The class of my audience are likely to be ABC1 because the parents will have a lot of money to buy their children the book, however I feel my book still appeals to children and parents of lower classes. Production Methods (Explain the methods you are going to use to produce your pages. Show us the thinking behind your decisions for a more detail response Seen as my story takes place under water so I can’t really use the photography and comic book effect; I don’t have a mermaid and I can’t go to a tropical beach in the time I have. I feel like using shapes and rotoscoping will be the best option for me; I will be able to create the shapes for my book more easily. I could circle shapes for their faces. I could create the mermaid tail through rotoscoping as it may be hard to create using shapes.
  • 30. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? -good description -easy to understand the plot - Well thought out idea -could explain page size -some grammar error -describe more about the curse What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? -good idea generation well explained and detailed -good use of schemes to separate different characters/ideas -Add more images to the mood board such as realistic images.
  • 31. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? - It strongly explains the basis of the story - They ideas for the creation for the graphics is ideal for the situation - Maybe explain how the sea witch tries to stop things What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? - The 5 intial ideas all have a large amount of detail in them and show a lot of thought processes - Add a few more images into the mood boards, possibly showing how you think the characters might look like, or extra characters
  • 32. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? -Detailed explanation of the story -States the exact product methods that will be used. - Could include more information regarding the curse’s implication with the witch. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? - Detailed mind map for each section and has thought about each character that will feature in the story. - A range pictures chosen. - Maybe could of thought more about the text.
  • 33. Feedback Summary Sum up your feedback. My feed back was mostly positive because they said I had a good description and story. The only negatives was that I could add more photos to mood board and add more detail about the curse and the sea witch. Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why? I agree about the good description because I feel like I did provide a lot of detail in my mind map. I also agree with the negatives too because I could add a lot more photos to my mood board. I could add more photo to do with text because text will be an important as the graphics in my book. Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why? I was told that my grammatical errors but even though this is true, I don’t think it really affect the quality of my idea generation. Other than that ,there are no other disagreement; all of the rest was constructive criticism.
