Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that my images are very simple yet you make them as unique and as
creative as you want them to be using a variety of colours and shapes. I also
like how my whale shape image turned out as we used texture to make the
image look more creative and different to my other shape images rather than
using simple techniques.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I was to do the shape images again then I would improve the accuracy so
the images look more realistic as well as cartoon like. I would also give myself
more time to do the shape images so I could come up with more creative
things to do to them and I would have more time to complete them as my
penguin image isn't completed. I would also add more details such as shading
and using more colours.
Rotoscope
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that my image has a cartoon affect as it makes my image look different
and creative when rotoscoping is simple to do once you get the just of how to
do it. I also like that my image is a portrait as it meant there was a lot of
detail to focus on which makes my image interesting to look at rather than it
being simple. I also like that I included bright colours in my image as that’s
more appealing than dull colours.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To improve my image I would have completed it as because there was a lot of
detail to focus on I didn't’t have time to complete it. I would have also added
shading and different colours rather than just using one colour on something,
for example the hair. I could improve the hair by adding more colours to make
it look more realistic.
Film Quotes
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that my image stands out because of the facial expression on the man
and I rotoscoped this image therefor when its complete it would look
interesting and appealing. I Also liked that it was quite simple however
different therefor its unique and you can use different techniques.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would complete the image, and then to make the image look the best it
could then I would use lots of different colours especially on his face so that
the image doesn't’t look too unrealistic.

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I really like this image and the effects that it has. I like the colours that I used
and how he stands out in the image compared to everything else due to the
colours and contrast. I think that the image is really effective because of the
texture and how much detail it has as there is a lot to look at as well as a focal
point.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would also take all the polaroid's and add affects to them such as making
them black and white as I think that would make the image stand out or
putting different textures over them to make the image more abstract.
Photo Story
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like that my images make sense as to what is happening in the story as I
used details such as creating a key and a box, then emphasized facial
expressions using cut out and threshold. I also liked that my images were
bright and I used light colours because that makes the photo look more
appealing than dull colours do.

Story Overview
(Provide an outline of your story)
There are other creatures in the loch ness that are scared of the loch ness monster
because of what they have seen and heard. But the loch ness wants to make friends
with the other creatures so he tries following them, however they keep swimming
away and hiding from him because they are scared. Eventually the loch ness catches
one of the creatures and they realize that he is friendly and harmless, so the creature
tells the other creatures and they all join together and become friends. The moral of
the story is to not judge what you see.

Advantages: It is a good quality. Not a large file size.
Disadvantages: PDFs cannot be changed, revised or manipulated easily.
Deadline
22nd April 2016.
Audience
(Think about who you are targeting as your audience. Consider age, gender, class,
location and other characteristics which could define your audience.)
My book is targeting young children of any gender as the story is suitable for both.
The book is aimed for young children, however they need to be old enough to
understand the story line. My book will be published in England as the story is
based on a British myth.
Production Methods
(Explain the methods you are going to use to produce your pages. Show us the
thinking behind your decisions for a more detail response)
To produce the children's book I will use Photoshop and rotoscope/ shape warp my
images. I will use bright colours to attract attention and make the photos look more
appealing than dull. I wont use too many sentences in my book, however it is
important that I get my message across.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
Your proposal is very detailed, and you have a
great moral for your story.
I like the idea of using the Loch Ness Monster as
something that all the creatures are afraid of,
because some people tend to be afraid of the idea
of a Loch Ness Monster. Despite the fact that 1) We
don’t even know If it exists, and 2) We don’t know if
it’s friendly or not.
-Possibly add a bit of Punctuation here and there.
-You could Capitalize “Loch Ness Monster”
because it makes it clearer that it is the subject of
your book.
-This isn’t necessarily an improvement, but
changing the moral to “Don’t judge a book by its
cover” makes more sense. People have heard the
phrase and they understand it. Plus it can be a play
on words.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
There isn’t any…
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
You have written a good plot I know what your book
is going to be about and it clear that you know what
your script is. You have also shown me what size
you are going to have your pages 22cm by 22cm is
quite large so I image you will be creating quite
large images.
I think you could give more advantages and
disadvantages about JPEG or at least stretch out
the sentences to make it look like more has been
written
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
For you idea generation you have pointed out what
you want to base your book about I know exactly
what you want in your book. I think that it is clever
how you have given different ideas for the subject
of the book like how you have thought up about the
sea creatures but also had the idea about the
family. You have also shown what technique you
will be doing when actually creating the product
Mood board Lucy you have no mood board!!!
Also even though its clever that you have thought
of different ideas for the lock ness monster maybe
try adding some other stories just in case you
struggle to create the original idea you have
planned on
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
Your story is very good and has clearly been
thought out. The proposal of your story is also very
good and a good good lesson for children. You
have also decided on the size of your pages. Well
done you.
You could develop on your explanation of the
advantages and disadvantages of the file type you
have chosen.
You don’t mention in your audience section what
your target age range is.. You just say “young
children”..
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
You have described the techniques you will be
using to create your story and the product.
Your idea generation needs to include more detail
on the illustrations you are going to create, instead
of lots of ideas for the narrative.
Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
I think my feedback is positive as people suggested my idea was different and creative,
and the negative feedback is useful and I can improve my ideas and add what is
necessary.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
I agree with my parts of feedback because my story is different and there isnt one like it
in a children’s book. So I agree that my idea is well thought and different.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
I disagree where it says there was no idea generation or mood board as it was all written
on paper next to my computer, therefor that feedback was useless and wont help me
improve anything.

Lamont didn’t like visiting his Aunt Moira. She pinched his cheeks and ruffled his blond hair every time she saw him. Sometimes she even kissed him and he definitely didn’t like that. "Mum, can I go
down to the loch and throw some stones in?" he asked softly, not wanting Aunt Moira to hear. His mum, seeing his boredom, answered, "Sure, Lamont, go ahead. Don’t get too close. The water is
very deep and very cold."
Without wasting another minute, Lamont ran out the door and headed to the loch. He ran past a sign that read, "Loch Ness – Home of the Famous Loch Ness Monster." He didn’t pay any attention to
it though. The first time he’d visited his Aunt Moira, his mum and dad had told him that there was no such thing. It was just something the people here said to get tourists to come visit the loch.
Lamont had no reason not to believe them. He ran to the shore of the loch. He looked around for some stones he could toss in. He walked around gathering them in his pockets and then stood on a
large rock. He threw one of the small stones as far as he could. SPLASH! It landed in the water and sunk quickly to the bottom. Again, he tossed another stone. SPLASH! It went further than the first
one. He stood for several minutes throwing his stones. SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! "This isn’t any fun," he mumbled to himself. He jumped down off the rock and walked along the shore. He came to
some reeds that blocked his way. He could go no further. He stopped and sat down on a grassy ledge. He threw a stone into the reeds. SPLASH! The water seemed very deep there. Not only did the
stones make a splashing sound, but they also went KERPLUNK! He threw another stone, but instead of hearing a SPLASH and a KERPLUNK, he heard "OUCH!” Lamont stopped. "Who’s there?" he
asked. Nobody answered. He threw another stone. "OUCH! Stop that!” Lamont jumped up and ran over to the reeds. He parted them. In the water, among the reeds was a huge dinosaur-like animal.
It was green, had nubby little horns, and was rubbing its head. "Ouch," she said. "That hurt!” Lamont stood there, unable to move. "Sorry," he whispered. "Well, all right. I accept your apology. But
from now on, please try to be more careful," the monster said. She looked over at Lamont and saw the curious look on his face. "I’m Nessie, otherwise known as the Loch Ness Monster. Who are
you?"
Lamont, for some reason, wasn’t afraid. He answered, "I’m Lamont. I’m here visiting my Aunt Moira. She pinches my cheeks and rubs my hair."
Nessie started to laugh. Her laugh was loud. Lamont looked at her. Only her head and long neck were out of the water. Triangular spikes stuck out from the center of her neck. She had bits of plants
hanging from her mouth. He could see that she had sharp teeth and could eat him in one bite if she wanted. She was huge! "Are you really a monster?" Lamont asked."I guess I’m more of a dinosaur
than a monster. I only eat plants, not little boys," she assured Lamont. "Say, would you like a ride on my neck?”Lamont looked at Nessie. "How big are you anyway?" he asked.
"Well, I’m about 100 feet long. I’ve got humps, I’m very thin, and I’ve got feet and arms, but I only use them when I swim. Now, would you like a ride around the loch?" she asked again. Lamont
nodded yes. "Climb on my head and hold on," she said.
Lamont grabbed onto her stubby horns and found a place to sit, holding onto one of her spikes. "Ready?" she asked him.
"Let’s go, Nessie," he said, excited and anxious. He knew his mother wouldn’t like this, nor would his Aunt Moira, but he wanted to go.
She took off and soon they were swimming around the loch. Lamont kept his feet out of the water and tried not to let the water splash on him. "Wheeeeeeeee!" he called out with glee. "This is
fun!”Nessie swam all the way around the loch. Lamont could see sheep grazing on the hillside, lots of pretty flowers growing along the banks, and even saw a small waterfall cascading over some
rocks. "Would you like to see my cave? " Nessie asked."Where is it?" Lamont questioned."It’s under this hill. I live in a huge cave. It’s got tunnels going out from all directions. I can swim into other
lochs. It’s very comfortable for a Loch Ness monster," she explained."I"d love to see your cave," Lamont answered.
"Then hold on, take deep breath and here we go!" Nessie gave Lamont time to hold his breath, and then she dove under the water. He held on tightly. The water was very cold. It only took a minute
to reach the cave. Lamont saw how Nessie used her hands and feet as flippers to swim quickly.
Soon she came out of the water into the cave. "WOW!" Lamont exclaimed. "This cave is huge! Look at all the tunnels too," he said, looking around, trying to see if he could see down one. They were
filled halfway with water. Lamont saw where Nessie slept. It was in a big pile of dried heather. He saw some plants that she must have been eating.
"I’m sure your cold. Let’s get you back up to the top," Nessie said. "Hold on again and take another deep breath," she urged. Lamont did just that.
Before he knew it, he was back up on the surface, right near the reeds where he’d been throwing rocks. He climbed off Nessie’s back and stood on the shore. "I’ve got to go now," Nessie said. "The
next time you come to visit Aunt Moira, come down here to this spot and throw stones in the water and I’ll come and say hello." Nessie smiled at Lamont, and dove under the water.
Lamont stood there, dripping from head to toe. He felt very cold. Just then he heard, "Lamont, why are you all wet?" It was his mum. She’d come looking for him. "You are drenched and freezing. Did
you fall into the loch? Oh never mind, let’s just get back up to Aunt Moira’s and get you into some dry clothes!" She took Lamont’s hand and led him up the hill towards the warm cottage.
Before he went inside, he turned and looked back at the loch. There was Nessie, in the middle of the lake. She was looking at him. He waved goodbye to her and then she went under the water. He
could see her three humps. His mum turned around and saw the humps sticking out of the water. "Oh my. Did you see that, Lamont? Did you see those humps? I think we just saw the Loch Ness
monster!" She stood there pointing at it. "I saw it! I saw the Loch Ness monster."
"Mum, I’m cold," Lamont complained.
"Yes, you must be," she said, looking down at him. "Let’s go in the house now." She opened the door and he went inside. She turned and looked out at the loch and saw nothing. "I must have been
imagining it," she said and went inside.
Story Breakdown
Lamont didn't’ like visiting his Aunt Moira, so instead he asked to go down to the loch and throw stones in, however he
didn't’t want his Aunt Moira to know what. His mum allowed him to do so, however told him to not go too near the water as
it was very deep and cold.
Lamont runs to the loch and takes no notice of the sign saying “home of the loch ness monster.” his parents had told him
that no such thing existed, and Lamont had no reason to not believe them.
Lamont approaches the shore and collects stones in his pocked to toss in. He threw one of the small ones as far as he
could. He kept tossing the stones in for several minutes until he got bored.
He jumped down the rocks and walked along the shore until he stumbled across some reeds allowing him to go no further
so he stopped and sat on a grassy ledge. He then threw a stone into the reeds and the water seemed very deep and he
heard a kerplunk. He threw another and instead of hearing a kerplunk he heard an ouch. Lamont asked who's there but
nobody responded so he threw another stone and they responded “ouch! Stop that.”
Lamont ran over to the reeds and found a huge dinosaur-like animal. It was green and was rubbing its head, “ouch that
hurts.” Lamont stood there shocked and unable to move. The loch ness introduced herself and said “Im Nessie, otherwise
known as the loch ness monster. Who are you?”
Lamont wasn’t afraid and him and Nessie got along very well and he explained what we was doing at the loch.
Nessie asked Lamont for a ride around the loch so they took off. Nessie then took them to her cave.
Lamont was shocked at what he saw. The cave was full of tunnels, and dried plants that Nessie eats. After exploring they
head back to the shore and Nessie had to leave, and she told Lamont to come back and see him next time she visits.
Lamonts mother finds him dripping wet and takes him home. As she turns around she saw the humps of the loch ness
monster, she tells Lamont in excitement, but as she turns back round she sees nothing. “I Must have been imagining it.”
Draft Script
There are many creatures in the loch ness of Scotland. But one that all the creatures are scared off. The loch ness
monster. The loch ness monster has a green humped body, and is called Nessie.
The other creatures always swim away and hide from the Nessie because of the way he behaves and looks.
Nessie feels sad and alone because he doesn't’t have any other friends in the loch and every time he tries to approach
the other creatures they always swim away from him.
Nessie always tries to come up with ideas of how he could make friends with the creatures, but every time he tries it
doesn’t work because they are too frightened of him.
One night Nessie was swimming around the loch and he spotted another creature on their own, however he didnt want to
approach this small blue creature in an obvious way because Nessie knew she would swim away.
Nessie slowly and carefully sneaks up behind the unaware creature, and then wraps her in his arms and whispers ‘dont
be scared, my name is Nessie and i only want to be your friend.’ The creature looked scared and confused, but instead of
escaping she also introduced herself. ‘Im crimson. But what do you want from me?’ Nessie explained that she only wants
to have friends in the loch with her and that she isnt evil like all the creatures think. ‘i want you to trust me crimson.’
Nessie took crimson around the loch to prove that she could trust him. Nessie showed her all his caves that are hidden
around the loch.
Crimson didnt understand why she and all the other creatures were frightened of Nessie because now Crimson knows
what he is really like. ‘i only wanted to be your friend.’ Nessie said confused.
After swimming around the loch until light began to appear, Nessie took crimson back to her friends, and was nervous to
see their reactions. Crimson reassured Nessie that now he knows what hes really like everyone would want to be his
friend. They approched his friends and they all looked worried wondering what Crimson was doing. Crimson introduced
Nessie.
They all got to know Nessie and relised that he is nothing like he had seemed to be. The moral of the story is to not judge
what you see until you know what thier really like.
Final Script
Deep in the water of the loch ness are many creatures, but there's one creature that everyone is scared off. Nessie, the loch ness
monster. Nessie is large, green, and over a hundreds of years old.
All the other creatures swim away in a hurry when they see Nessie because of his petrifying reputation and humongous body.
Nessie feels lonely and sad that he doesn’t have any other friends in the loch because every time he tries to approach the other
creatures they always swim away from him. “I only want to be your friend” Nessie whines as they swim away in a hurry.
Nessie is always trying to come up with ways he can approach the other creatures and not frighten them, however every time he
attempts it doesn't’t work, and in fact frightens the creatures even more.
On one gloomy night Nessie was swimming around the loch and spotted another creature lurking around. However he didn't’t want
to approach the creature in a manor that would frighten them and swim away.
Carefully Nessie approaches the unaware creature, Nessie wraps her around his arms and whispers “please don’t be scared of me, I
am Nessie and want to be your friend, please give me a chance.” The creature looked scared, however didn't’t try to escape, instead
she also introduced herself. “I'm Crimson, but what do you want from me?” Nessie explained that he only wants to be friends with the
other creatures and that all the other creatures swim away from him when they see him. “I want to show them what I’m really like.”
Nessie took Crimson around the loch for a swim to prove she could trust him. “hold on tight” Nessie screams as they glide off.
Nessie showed her around all his hidden caves.
Crimson was puzzled, she didn't’ understand why herself and all the other creatures were frightened of Nessie because now she
knows her true colours.
After swimming around the loch until dawn Nessie took Crimson back to her friends, and was nervous to see their reactions “What if
they swim away from me again?” Crimson reassured Nessie and told him that know they know what he is really like they will all want
to be friends with him. Crimson and Nessie approach the other creatures.. “everyone, this is Nessie, my friend.”
As time went on they all got to know Nessie and realised he was nothing that he seemed to be. The moral of this story is to not judge
a book by its cover.

  • 5. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that my images are very simple yet you make them as unique and as creative as you want them to be using a variety of colours and shapes. I also like how my whale shape image turned out as we used texture to make the image look more creative and different to my other shape images rather than using simple techniques. What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to do the shape images again then I would improve the accuracy so the images look more realistic as well as cartoon like. I would also give myself more time to do the shape images so I could come up with more creative things to do to them and I would have more time to complete them as my penguin image isn't completed. I would also add more details such as shading and using more colours.
  • 7. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that my image has a cartoon affect as it makes my image look different and creative when rotoscoping is simple to do once you get the just of how to do it. I also like that my image is a portrait as it meant there was a lot of detail to focus on which makes my image interesting to look at rather than it being simple. I also like that I included bright colours in my image as that’s more appealing than dull colours. What would you improve if you did it again? To improve my image I would have completed it as because there was a lot of detail to focus on I didn't’t have time to complete it. I would have also added shading and different colours rather than just using one colour on something, for example the hair. I could improve the hair by adding more colours to make it look more realistic.
  • 9. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that my image stands out because of the facial expression on the man and I rotoscoped this image therefor when its complete it would look interesting and appealing. I Also liked that it was quite simple however different therefor its unique and you can use different techniques. What would you improve if you did it again? I would complete the image, and then to make the image look the best it could then I would use lots of different colours especially on his face so that the image doesn't’t look too unrealistic.
  • 12. Evaluation What did you like about your image? What would you improve if you did it again?
  • 14. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I really like this image and the effects that it has. I like the colours that I used and how he stands out in the image compared to everything else due to the colours and contrast. I think that the image is really effective because of the texture and how much detail it has as there is a lot to look at as well as a focal point. What would you improve if you did it again? I would also take all the polaroid's and add affects to them such as making them black and white as I think that would make the image stand out or putting different textures over them to make the image more abstract.
  • 16. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like that my images make sense as to what is happening in the story as I used details such as creating a key and a box, then emphasized facial expressions using cut out and threshold. I also liked that my images were bright and I used light colours because that makes the photo look more appealing than dull colours do. What would you improve if you did it again?
  • 18. Evaluation What did you like about your image? What would you improve if you did it again?

  • 24. Proposal Dimensions 10 pages. 22cmx22cm Story Overview (Provide an outline of your story) There are other creatures in the loch ness that are scared of the loch ness monster because of what they have seen and heard. But the loch ness wants to make friends with the other creatures so he tries following them, however they keep swimming away and hiding from him because they are scared. Eventually the loch ness catches one of the creatures and they realize that he is friendly and harmless, so the creature tells the other creatures and they all join together and become friends. The moral of the story is to not judge what you see. Export Format PDF Advantages: It is a good quality. Not a large file size. Disadvantages: PDFs cannot be changed, revised or manipulated easily.
  • 25. Deadline 22nd April 2016. Audience (Think about who you are targeting as your audience. Consider age, gender, class, location and other characteristics which could define your audience.) My book is targeting young children of any gender as the story is suitable for both. The book is aimed for young children, however they need to be old enough to understand the story line. My book will be published in England as the story is based on a British myth. Production Methods (Explain the methods you are going to use to produce your pages. Show us the thinking behind your decisions for a more detail response) To produce the children's book I will use Photoshop and rotoscope/ shape warp my images. I will use bright colours to attract attention and make the photos look more appealing than dull. I wont use too many sentences in my book, however it is important that I get my message across.
  • 26. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? Your proposal is very detailed, and you have a great moral for your story. I like the idea of using the Loch Ness Monster as something that all the creatures are afraid of, because some people tend to be afraid of the idea of a Loch Ness Monster. Despite the fact that 1) We don’t even know If it exists, and 2) We don’t know if it’s friendly or not. -Possibly add a bit of Punctuation here and there. -You could Capitalize “Loch Ness Monster” because it makes it clearer that it is the subject of your book. -This isn’t necessarily an improvement, but changing the moral to “Don’t judge a book by its cover” makes more sense. People have heard the phrase and they understand it. Plus it can be a play on words. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? There isn’t any…
  • 27. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? You have written a good plot I know what your book is going to be about and it clear that you know what your script is. You have also shown me what size you are going to have your pages 22cm by 22cm is quite large so I image you will be creating quite large images. I think you could give more advantages and disadvantages about JPEG or at least stretch out the sentences to make it look like more has been written What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? For you idea generation you have pointed out what you want to base your book about I know exactly what you want in your book. I think that it is clever how you have given different ideas for the subject of the book like how you have thought up about the sea creatures but also had the idea about the family. You have also shown what technique you will be doing when actually creating the product Mood board Lucy you have no mood board!!! Also even though its clever that you have thought of different ideas for the lock ness monster maybe try adding some other stories just in case you struggle to create the original idea you have planned on
  • 28. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? Your story is very good and has clearly been thought out. The proposal of your story is also very good and a good good lesson for children. You have also decided on the size of your pages. Well done you. You could develop on your explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of the file type you have chosen. You don’t mention in your audience section what your target age range is.. You just say “young children”.. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? You have described the techniques you will be using to create your story and the product. Your idea generation needs to include more detail on the illustrations you are going to create, instead of lots of ideas for the narrative.
  • 29. Feedback Summary Sum up your feedback. I think my feedback is positive as people suggested my idea was different and creative, and the negative feedback is useful and I can improve my ideas and add what is necessary. Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why? I agree with my parts of feedback because my story is different and there isnt one like it in a children’s book. So I agree that my idea is well thought and different. Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why? I disagree where it says there was no idea generation or mood board as it was all written on paper next to my computer, therefor that feedback was useless and wont help me improve anything.
  • 30. Original Script http://www.electricscotland.com/kids/stories/lochness_monster.htm Lamont didn’t like visiting his Aunt Moira. She pinched his cheeks and ruffled his blond hair every time she saw him. Sometimes she even kissed him and he definitely didn’t like that. "Mum, can I go down to the loch and throw some stones in?" he asked softly, not wanting Aunt Moira to hear. His mum, seeing his boredom, answered, "Sure, Lamont, go ahead. Don’t get too close. The water is very deep and very cold." Without wasting another minute, Lamont ran out the door and headed to the loch. He ran past a sign that read, "Loch Ness – Home of the Famous Loch Ness Monster." He didn’t pay any attention to it though. The first time he’d visited his Aunt Moira, his mum and dad had told him that there was no such thing. It was just something the people here said to get tourists to come visit the loch. Lamont had no reason not to believe them. He ran to the shore of the loch. He looked around for some stones he could toss in. He walked around gathering them in his pockets and then stood on a large rock. He threw one of the small stones as far as he could. SPLASH! It landed in the water and sunk quickly to the bottom. Again, he tossed another stone. SPLASH! It went further than the first one. He stood for several minutes throwing his stones. SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! "This isn’t any fun," he mumbled to himself. He jumped down off the rock and walked along the shore. He came to some reeds that blocked his way. He could go no further. He stopped and sat down on a grassy ledge. He threw a stone into the reeds. SPLASH! The water seemed very deep there. Not only did the stones make a splashing sound, but they also went KERPLUNK! He threw another stone, but instead of hearing a SPLASH and a KERPLUNK, he heard "OUCH!” Lamont stopped. "Who’s there?" he asked. But from now on, please try to be more careful," the monster said. She looked over at Lamont and saw the curious look on his face. "I’m Nessie, otherwise known as the Loch Ness Monster. Who are you?" Lamont, for some reason, wasn’t afraid. He answered, "I’m Lamont. I’m here visiting my Aunt Moira. She pinches my cheeks and rubs my hair." Nessie started to laugh. Her laugh was loud. Lamont looked at her. Only her head and long neck were out of the water. Triangular spikes stuck out from the center of her neck. She had bits of plants hanging from her mouth. He could see that she had sharp teeth and could eat him in one bite if she wanted. She was huge! "Are you really a monster?" Lamont asked."I guess I’m more of a dinosaur than a monster. Lamont nodded yes. "This is fun!”Nessie swam all the way around the loch. Lamont could see sheep grazing on the hillside, lots of pretty flowers growing along the banks, and even saw a small waterfall cascading over some rocks. "Would you like to see my cave? " Nessie asked."Where is it?" Lamont questioned."It’s under this hill. I live in a huge cave. It’s got tunnels going out from all directions. I can swim into other lochs. It only took a minute to reach the cave. Lamont saw how Nessie used her hands and feet as flippers to swim quickly. Soon she came out of the water into the cave. "WOW!" Lamont exclaimed. "This cave is huge! Look at all the tunnels too," he said, looking around, trying to see if he could see down one. They were filled halfway with water. "The next time you come to visit Aunt Moira, come down here to this spot and throw stones in the water and I’ll come and say hello." Nessie smiled at Lamont, and dove under the water. Lamont stood there, dripping from head to toe. He felt very cold. Just then he heard, "Lamont, why are you all wet?" It was his mum. She’d come looking for him. "You are drenched and freezing. Did you fall into the loch? Oh never mind, let’s just get back up to Aunt Moira’s and get you into some dry clothes!" She took Lamont’s hand and led him up the hill towards the warm cottage. Before he went inside, he turned and looked back at the loch. There was Nessie, in the middle of the lake. She was looking at him. He waved goodbye to her and then she went under the water. He could see her three humps. His mum turned around and saw the humps sticking out of the water. "Oh my. Did you see that, Lamont? Did you see those humps? I think we just saw the Loch Ness monster!" She stood there pointing at it. "I saw it! I saw the Loch Ness monster." "Mum, I’m cold," Lamont complained. "Yes, you must be," she said, looking down at him. "Let’s go in the house now." She opened the door and he went inside. She turned and looked out at the loch and saw nothing. "I must have been imagining it," she said and went inside.
  • 31. Story Breakdown Lamont didn't’ like visiting his Aunt Moira, so instead he asked to go down to the loch and throw stones in, however he didn't’t want his Aunt Moira to know what. His mum allowed him to do so, however told him to not go too near the water as it was very deep and cold. Lamont runs to the loch and takes no notice of the sign saying “home of the loch ness monster.” his parents had told him that no such thing existed, and Lamont had no reason to not believe them. Lamont approaches the shore and collects stones in his pocked to toss in. He threw one of the small ones as far as he could. He kept tossing the stones in for several minutes until he got bored. He jumped down the rocks and walked along the shore until he stumbled across some reeds allowing him to go no further so he stopped and sat on a grassy ledge. He then threw a stone into the reeds and the water seemed very deep and he heard a kerplunk. He threw another and instead of hearing a kerplunk he heard an ouch. Lamont asked who's there but nobody responded so he threw another stone and they responded “ouch! Stop that.” Lamont ran over to the reeds and found a huge dinosaur-like animal. It was green and was rubbing its head, “ouch that hurts.” Lamont stood there shocked and unable to move. The loch ness introduced herself and said “Im Nessie, otherwise known as the loch ness monster. Who are you?” Lamont wasn’t afraid and him and Nessie got along very well and he explained what we was doing at the loch. Nessie asked Lamont for a ride around the loch so they took off. Nessie then took them to her cave. Lamont was shocked at what he saw. The cave was full of tunnels, and dried plants that Nessie eats. After exploring they head back to the shore and Nessie had to leave, and she told Lamont to come back and see him next time she visits. Lamonts mother finds him dripping wet and takes him home. As she turns around she saw the humps of the loch ness monster, she tells Lamont in excitement, but as she turns back round she sees nothing. “I Must have been imagining it.”
  • 32. Draft Script There are many creatures in the loch ness of Scotland. But one that all the creatures are scared off. The loch ness monster. The loch ness monster has a green humped body, and is called Nessie. The other creatures always swim away and hide from the Nessie because of the way he behaves and looks. Nessie feels sad and alone because he doesn't’t have any other friends in the loch and every time he tries to approach the other creatures they always swim away from him. Nessie always tries to come up with ideas of how he could make friends with the creatures, but every time he tries it doesn’t work because they are too frightened of him.
