1. Production Reflection

2. Process – front cover 1
To start off with I took a picture of me standing
in front of the two posters with it looking like I'm
comparing the two magazine, as it’s the theme
of the magazine. While we took the picture we
sorted out the lighting and then that when I sent
the image to myself. I then started typing up the
title on the top left corner with cooper black font
which I knew would be the best font before I
even started production. As soon as that was
done that’s when I got to editing the drake
poster behind me so I looks like I'm comparing
the two. I did this by moving the image in front
of me and erasing it and to make it look like it
was behind me. Then I played around with the
size and adjusted to so it was all in the right
length. Trying to make it so exact that its behind
the hand I'm holding out.

3. Process – front cover 2
Then I put a cropped red background on the
top for my selling line. So that's when I
started to type up my anchorage and selected
the right font for it. Then I selected a colour
and experimented with various colours but
believed this colour would make the most
sense for this magazine. I then started to type
all the magazine details like the date line, web
address, price in UK, and Canada and then
added the barcode in the bottom corner.
Then in the same font that I typed up my title
I typed “plus!” in capital letters for the kicker.
I then typed in on the top corner the plug and
at that point that’s when I started to
experiment with the lightning strike down the
side of my face. I started getting a basic red
lightning strike image from the internet put it
on my face and then using the magic wand
tool, cut out the white background. Then to
make it blend more I changed the opacity to
make it more darker.

4. Process – front cover 3
After doing the lightning bolt I started typing the
various bands in the magazine in the selling line,
while retaining the same font that my title is in. Then
using the rectangle tool I chose the ellipse tool to
draw the circle around the plug and changed the
background of the circle to match with the rest of
the magazine. I then added the guitar and cropped
the background using the magic wand tool to make it
clear and placed it behind the title. Then for my
tagline I typed it in a smaller lettering and put it
indented to the right on the top of the title. Then I
typed up my headline of the main article and
selected the right font, and color for it. Then once I
had done that I had typed up the lettering for my
cover line that just went to the side of the thriller
Michael Jackson album that is on the right side. I
then pasted black boarder to match with the other
poster and using the magic wand tool cropped all the
space within, adjusting it to fit in with the size of the
poster. Then lastly I changed the main image up by
making it look more darker by changing the opacity
and changing the style with the color effect on the
gradient map.

5. Process – Double page spread 1
I started by double page spread on pen and paper, drafting it out and then typing it up.
Then selecting a a document that’s landscape, and choosing a white background to go
for the background. Then once selecting a text box and having typed it all up I changed
it up to making it more like a magazine by changing the size of the first letter to make it
look bigger than the rest. Then put the questions being asked in a black font and and
moved into columns so it didn't look like it was just going across.

6. Process – double page spread 2
I got someone to take the to photographs for me and then sent them to
myself knowing where the positions on the double page spread of where
they would be. I then set my bottom photo to a black and white style using
the gradient tool. Then for the main image I got a Ziggy Stardust David Bowie
image from the internet, put it onto a layer behind the interview and
changed the opacity making it fade out slightly.

7. Process – double page spread 3
Then I started it to type up the written draft of the headline, quote of the article and
the cover-line. Then once I did that I had all the lettering in a dark red, and remaining
with the same font Bernard MT condensed. Then I found the black border on the
internet and used the magic wand tool to cut it out as just a border. Then once I did
that I finally drew 2 textboxes, one on the left side and another on the right side, and
entered in the page numbers, using the same font and color.
