COURSE CODE: FDN 201
COURSE TITLE: Philosophy of Education
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Course Philosophy of Education is a 3-unit course leading to the degree of Master of Arts in Education. This course focuses on the understanding of
emerging philosophy in and of education in the school settings. This course also offers an overview of philosophical approaches to education research.
CREDIT UNITS: 3 Units
NO. OF CONTACT HOURS/WEEK: 54 HOURS/18 Weeks

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, students are expected to:
1. Define the Philosophy of Education and identify its branches.
2. Compare and contrast the different branches of Philosophy.
3. Discuss the importance of the Philosophy of Education.
4. Discuss the Philosophical movements of Education.
5. List down the Educational philosophers and explain their contributions.
6. Name of Filipino Educators and their Philosophies.
7. Discuss the Philosophy of Philippine Education.
8. Submit article reviews and position papers on the Philosophy of Education

Republic of the Philippines BULACAN AGRICULTURAL STATE COLLEGE Institute of Education Pinaod, San Ildefonso, Bulacan (SY-2021-2022) COURSE SYLLABUS COURSE CODE: FDN 201 COURSE TITLE: Philosophy of Education COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Course Philosophy of Education is a 3-unit course leading to the degree of Master of Arts in Education. This course focuses on the understanding of emerging philosophy in and of education in the school settings. This course also offers an overview of philosophical approaches to education research. CREDIT UNITS: 3 Units NO. OF CONTACT HOURS/WEEK: 54 HOURS/18 Weeks PRE-REQUISITE: None COLLEGE VISION The Bulacan Agricultural State College as an outstanding higher education institution in the nation with its provision of affordable and excellent education.
