II. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers the theoretical basis of Guidance and Counseling. The main purpose is to deepen understanding and
appreciation of the view and nature of man through a trans-disciplinary approach.
III. PREREQUISITES: Personality Theories / Social Psychology / Foundations of Education
IV. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
1. explain the philosophical, psychological basis of guidance and counseling;
2. demonstrate professional skills and competencies in the helping relationship;
3. manifest the capability in valuing the importance of understanding human beings through a trans-disciplinary
approach.

• Active and relevant participation in class activities, quizzes, assignments, reaction papers, library
research and examinations

• Oral Exposition
• A research paper regarding the Foundations of Guidance
