• exploring the topic
-St. book page 45, 46, 47: Ss will brainstorm about the topic of the unit,
writing the ideas in a short list, then organize the list of ideas into a
mind map. The mind map should include at least three branches:
vocabulary, language arts and social awareness.
-Ss will present orally to the whole class their final product.
TUESDAY 12th
• Vocabulary builder/grammar
- Reading program (30 minutes)
-St. book pages 48, 49: listen and repeat the vocabulary and sentences.
Role play the dialogues, then write a conversation using the underline
expressions.
- Grammar appendix ps. 179-180:
WEDNESDAY 13th
Listening/ vocabulary
-St. Book ps. 50-51: listen and answer the exercises.
-In pairs, SS imagine and role-play the first conversation Sam and Sandy
had.
- Page 51: bonus activity appendix.
THURSDAY 14th
• Speaking
-Reading program (30 minute)

-St book page 52: SS read individually the text and fill in the chart with
the skills they think are most important for each job.
-In pairs, SS compare charts and discuss the differences giving reasons
for their choices. SS should refer to dialogues on page 49 to help them
express their opinions.
-Page 151: bonus activity appendix
FRIDAY 15th
-listening exam.
-St. book p. 53: SS read individually the text and underline unfamiliar
words.
-SS find three similarities and three differences between the different
jobs they have read about.
-Individually, SS write a three-sentence paragraph stating why they
would or would not like to do one of these jobs in the future.

Jobs Class Weekly Lesson Plan

  • 1. TITLE: @Jobs.com CLASS: English Second Level UNIT#: 2 1st quarter
  • 2. MONDAY 11th • exploring the topic -St. book page 45, 46, 47: Ss will brainstorm about the topic of the unit, writing the ideas in a short list, then organize the list of ideas into a mind map. The mind map should include at least three branches: vocabulary, language arts and social awareness. -Ss will present orally to the whole class their final product.
  • 3. TUESDAY 12th • Vocabulary builder/grammar - Reading program (30 minutes) -St. book pages 48, 49: listen and repeat the vocabulary and sentences. Role play the dialogues, then write a conversation using the underline expressions. - Grammar appendix ps. 179-180:
  • 4. WEDNESDAY 13th Listening/ vocabulary -St. Book ps. 50-51: listen and answer the exercises. -In pairs, SS imagine and role-play the first conversation Sam and Sandy had. - Page 51: bonus activity appendix.

THURSDAY 14th • Speaking -Reading program (30 minute) - Watch the video in the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hErOSjKkpzI -St book page 52: SS read individually the text and fill in the chart with the skills they think are most important for each job. -In pairs, SS compare charts and discuss the differences giving reasons for their choices. SS should refer to dialogues on page 49 to help them express their opinions. -Page 151: bonus activity appendix

FRIDAY 15th -listening exam. -St. book p. 53: SS read individually the text and underline unfamiliar words. -SS find three similarities and three differences between the different jobs they have read about. -Individually, SS write a three-sentence paragraph stating why they would or would not like to do one of these jobs in the future.
