This is a power point I did for a topic plan to get approved in CI350 class for education. It shows how i would use the ASSURE Method day by day in the classroom.

1. American Sign Language

2. Objective
• The 2nd grade students will understand the
history of American Sign Language and know
about the Deaf culture and know how to sign
the alphabet and numbers 1-10 by using
pictures and internet resources by the end of
the unit with an 90% accuracy.

3. Day by day
• Day 1- The history of American Sign Language
where the kids will research on the computer and
write down the facts.
• Day 2- Learning about the Deaf culture where I
will have a guest speaker who is deaf come in
and tell the students about what it’s like to be
deaf and they will get to do an activity.
• Day 3- Learning the Alphabet students will get to
physically learn how to sign their ABC’s and will
have to sign them back to me for a grade.

4. Day by day
• Day 4- Learning their Numbers where the
students will learn number 1-10 and will have
to sign them back to me for a grade.
• Day 5- Living like a Deaf person students will
get to really see what its like to be deaf, we
will put ear plugs in them and make them try
to have a conversation with their classmates
by what they learned in the previous classes.

5. Media/Materials
• We will be using computers to learn the
history and research about the Deaf
community.
• We will watch Youtube vidoes on how to sign
our alphabet and numbers.
• Students will make crafts in terms of signs
they will learn.
