My target audience will be
teenagers, young adults and for
my secondary audience – adults
up to 30/40. Like the gender
results, this common age of 16
means my results will be biased.

As 35 people said that they would be
more attracted to good artists
featured in the magazine, I will
include artists that people mentioned
in my questionnaire. This will make
them interested in my content. I will
also include competitions and extras
because my target audience said they
would buy a magazine with these in.
The cover star was the second most
voted so I will make sure the picture
of my cover star is good enough to
attract attention – I will think of good
angles and facial expressions.

was a good magazine. Therefore, I will
not put emphasis on the fact that you

Most people want to see interviews
in my magazine so my magazine will
include a lot of interviews with
feature artists that my target
audience enjoy. I will also include
reviews, competitions and Quizzes so
that my magazine is full and packed
with good pages. One person made a
suggestion of having a countdown,
for example, top 100 songs, which
would be a good idea. So I will
include a countdown in my regular
content.

about the creation of my
magazine pages. Also, this
means that Q is my magazine’s
competition so I need to make
my pages and content seem
more interesting.

Comments/Suggestions
Most people would like to see CDs
as extras, however nowadays
magazines don’t really give actual
singles/albums away for free. So, if I
am going to give out a CD as an
extra, I will make the CD be of a
playlist that the cover star has
created. One Person made a
suggestion of having wristbands as
an extra, which would be a good
addition because I could make the
wristband be the main cover star or
one of the artists featured in the
magazine.

On my double page spread I
will include bold colours and
bold text. I will have one main
image and some little pictures
however not too many because
this was one of the least voted
suggestions. I will include drop
capitals because from looking
at other magazines, they seem
to be included and make the
layout of the double page
spread seem nice.

On my contents page, I will

my target audience most
wanted. I will have bold colours
however I still want them to
relate to my colour scheme of
red, blue and black. I will
include columns of writing and
the name of the magazine
because this is what
professional magazines do.

target audience will be
interested and maybe go to
them.
19. Q18. Would you prefer to see a band or a solo
artist on the front cover of a music magazine and
why?
38

Band or Artist
Band
Artist
Most people said that they would like to see a
band on the front cover of the magazine. The
main reasons for this are that bands are more
interesting, there would be more to read
about and bands are the audience’s main
preference. For my front cover, I will have a
band and I will think about the angles and
facial expressions to portray the right attitude
for my genre and I will make the people in the
band look interesting so the target audience
are attracted.
