Iran Nuclear Weapons, Weapons
Iran's Nuclear Weapons
Description:
Nuclear weapons, weapons that could potentially destroy civilization, are a new topic in
International relations during the twentieth and twenty–first centuries. After the United States made
a nuclear bomb at the end of WWI, soon other countries followed. By now, there are more than fifty
nations intervened with the bomb. A few years ago, Iran and the United States decided to form a
deal regarding Iran's possession of nuclear weapons (Habtoor, 2015). The deal, still in the form of a
framework outlining the real agreement, will be ready by the end of June ("The Iran nuclear deal,"
2015). It will be signed by Germany, Russia, UK, US, China, France, and Iran ("The Iran nuclear
deal," 2015). In October 2013, the newspaper Jerusalem Post brought up the point that the United
States and Israel do not know for sure if Iran has already started building the bomb or even if Iran
already has one ("What does getting the bomb mean?," 2013). Despite these uncertainties and
difficulties to detect Iran's intentions, in 2013, most of the neighboring nations and the US agreed
that Iran currently did not have the nuclear weapon, although it will most likely make one in the
next few years ("What does getting the bomb mean?,"). Approximately two years later in April
2015, after the framework for the agreement has been agreed on, Iran's neighboring nations publicly
opposed plans for the future agreement. According to Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoorcting (2015), the US

Technology Is The Weapon Of Choice
Since the beginning of time, mankind has been at war with himself for every imaginable reason. In
2700 BC Mesopotamia, the armies of Sumer and Elam went to war. During this first recorded
conflict, the bow was the weapon of choice. Over the next 4,700 years, the character of war has
changed dramatically with the introduction of new technologies such as iron, steel, and gunpowder.
Today the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is the weapon of choice. For the U.S. military, the use
of UAV technology accelerated in the 1990's and continued through the past 14 years of sustained
conflict. In 2002, the United States had 167 UAVs and over 7,000 just 10 years later. Although
UAVs do not require a human in the cockpit, they are still controlled by a human who makes flight
and targeting decisions. However, technology is leading developers to push the envelope and
develop weapon systems that have the ability to act without human input or intervention, in all
domains of warfare, which like the airplane in WWI, could have dramatic implications for the
character of future wars.
In 2010, the Department of Defense said that autonomy was the single greatest theme for advancing
modern unmanned systems. General Robert Cone, Director of the U.S. Army's Training and
Doctrine Command, stated, "the Army is evaluating the possibility of replacing twenty–five percent
of manpower in Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) with robotics and unmanned systems." Over 30
nations already operate human–supervised

Weapons And Weapons Of Weapons
When you think of weapons now–a–days, you think of guns, guns, and guns, however it wasn't
always about guns. In fact, the first weapon was probably just a stone or stick of some sort. For
years and years to date, weapons have been around. So you could imagine that when technology
advances, the weapons come with advances as well. The engineering of weapons have also been
around since weapons, whether it had a name or not. As long as weapons have been around, weapon
engineering and the advancement of weapons have been around. Weapons date back starting around
the stone age, when weapons, of course were made with stone, included: spears, axes, clubs, and of
course rocks. Later, around the Greco–Roman period (332 BC, 395AD), swords and shields were
added into the mix. Battering rams, catapults, and crossbows were the most common in the middle
ages of 500 AD – 1500. And not until the 18th century when the industrial revolution came is when
guns were added, along with cannons. In today's time, although guns are still being used, the
modern day and future weapons are computers, which use GPS, radars, and can even control things
like robots. With more and more technological advances like this, there will be a huge need for
people who profession in weapon engineering to complete these task and innovate new ideas. "As a

Carry Concealed Weapons
There have been at least two school shootings a month in 2015. Of the 52 shootings, 21 have been at
colleges and universities, 15 at high schools, three at middle schools, 10 at elementary schools, two
at preschools, and one on a school bus (52 School Shootings 1). With all these school shootings,
why wouldn't you want to carry a gun? Guns can protect people. If a shooter confronts a person and
they see that person is armed they might think twice about what they are doing. Shouldn't you feel
some sort of protection and self–defense if you have a gun? Even though some say teachers and
students should not carry concealed weapons, they should be allowed to carry concealed weapons
on college campuses because of self–defense, protection, and it ... Show more content on

Fernandez claims that, "Supporters say it will make college campuses safer by not preventing
licensed gun owners from defending themselves and possibly saving lives should a mass shooting
occur, such as the one that unfolded at Virginia Tech University in 2007" (Fernandez 1). If someone
wants to protect themselves why would you want to stop them? If they are trained and responsible
and could possibly save lives would you want to be the person to stop them and say no? For
example, say a student sees a problem going on in the parking lot of the campus. And the student
knows they can stop it because they have a weapon in their car. The student can then grab the gun
and try to stop the problem before it gets out of hand. Your car is an extension of your home. This
provides safety for college campuses because they know that the students and teachers carrying
those weapons are responsible and trained and can possibly save lives if a shooting were to occur
there.
Out of all of the school shootings that happen a year, there are at least two a month. School
shootings can happen anywhere at any time, like preschools, high schools, elementarys. This is why
teachers and students should carry concealed weapons. Teachers and students should be able to carry
weapons because it is a way for self–defense, protection, and safety. As can be seen, teachers and
students should be allowed to carry on college

Gun And Weapon System
The United States of America has many citizens that live and make up their life there. But then
when there are bad people, bad people get into good people lives and ruin their lives. If they guns

other weapons. Innocent people are dying, many people are becoming mean and bad, and last,
people have to bear arms, have a gun. But many don't use it for good thing or situations. That is why
they, the government, have to enforce the gun and weapon system. First reason is that innocent
people are dying of bad people having dangerous weapons. Also these weapons are a danger to
people. For example, bad guys use guns and other weapons for bank robbery,

Weapon Control Laws
Weapon control laws facilitate the proprietorship and buy of weapons, which melds the sorts of
firearms that might be controlled, sitting tight periods required for obtaining, and depiction of
people who are constrained from owning guns (statelaws.com). Each state has their own stand–out

Medieval Military Weapons
Medieval military warfare was gruesome, but pretty advanced for the time. There were many new or
improved weapons that were made in the Medieval Era. Gunpowder weapons had much more power
than their bow counterparts, there were new offensive and defensive weapons, and there were new
siege machines that could change the outcome of breaching a fortification. Medieval times were
filled with wars, for instance the 100 Year War. Gunpowder weapons were so much more powerful
than bows and crossbows. There are three different classes of gunpowder weapons: breaching
weapons like petards, long range like cannons, and hand held weapons like the Arquebus and
Matchlock. Petards were used for breaching walls and doors by placing an iron bowl filled with ...

Thats where armour and siege weapons came into play. There were many different types of siege
engines, most were very big so they had to be built at the battle site before everything started or as it
was happening. Three main types of siege weapons were used: torsion, counter–weight, and
gunpowder. There was everything from trebuchets and catapults to crossbows and bombards.
Trebuchets were the most popular siege engine in the medieval era, they used a long arm attached to
a fulcrum and a heavy "counter–weight" that threw up the arm to throw a projectile. There were
many more weapons like the trebuchet that were used in other siege situations like torsion weapons.
Torsion weapons used a twisted rope to spin either a slinged or cuped arm to fling projectiles. Most
of the time torsion weapons were much smaller. They were widely used in the Roman Empire
because of their mobility. There were also things like the "Siege Tortoise" that protected miners as
they burrowed under walls to get into a fortification. This protected them against anyone above on
the walls or stray artillery. Over all, the medieval time was the time of massive simple machines

The Beasts of WW2: Tanks
"The bigger the tank, the bigger the stopping power"–said Adolf Hitler. Tanks were the main
armored vehicle of World War 2 because they were effective on the battlefield and easy to
build.Tanks played a major role in the war and could be found in almost all of the battles.Tanks in
World War 2 were made better to devastate their opponent both physically and mentally, but they
weren't without flaws.
To begin with, tanks are an iconic staple in the military today, but it wasn't always like that. The first
tanks were lightly armored vehicles with some guns on them developed by the Soviets and the
Nazis(WW2 Museum 2010). Most of these vehicles were slow and vulnerable to almost any attack
and needed a group of men to operate. But, as the war progressed tanks got faster, better, stronger,
and easier to operate (Tanks of War 2013).Tanks started out as a slow moving pile of steel and
became the beasts as we know them today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the war most of the countries were racing to develop the most technologically advanced
tanks so they could dominate the battlefield (WW2 Museum 2010). To counter all the tanks,
counties also developed anti–tank artillery and tank–destroyers, also tanks, so they could fire and
destroy tanks from a range longer than a tanks range. Two of the most advanced tanks of their time
were the American Sherman M4 and the German Waffen SS (Tanks of War 2013). The Sherman m4
was the fourth generation of the medium tanks made by the United States and it was very easy to
produce and maintain (WW2 Museum 2010). The Waffen SS was a tank that had thick armor and
was only allowed to be operated by the SS, making their numbers way less than the American
Sherman (Tanks of War 2013). Tanks quickly became one of the most important assets on the

The main purpose for weapons was to defend their selves in combat against their opponents. It was
also a very significance during the Elizabethan Era. A main weapon used was a weapon called the
'Rapier" it's kind of like a sword but very long and do more than enough damage to one another.
Very skilled people knew how to used the weapon to fight against enemies, however anybody could
master the rapier. Elizabeth troops wore armour to be protected from being thrusted or stabbed in a
battle. Cannons were utilized to cripple down upcoming events like battles or wars. In battle the
armour could be a life saver to others of their falling brother they could use them as an extra shield
to protect themselves in battle. During the Elizabeth Era they had primitive muskets and hand
cannons more lethal to the fire than the targets. As for the designs engraved they looked at modern

question has been raised if students on college campuses should be allowed to carry a weapon on

will keep colleges safer because of the many dangerous situations that seem to arise when guns are

Nuclear Weapons And Atomic Weapons Essay
Nuclear weapons are a threatening war tactic that has become more frequent in the new media,
especially in the past few weeks after Hillary Clinton released an updated version of the "Daisy" ad
inferring that if elected, Donald Trump will misuse the nuclear weapons of the United States.
Nuclear power is a big responsibility and since the start of its use, scientists and politicians have
tried to separate weapons and nuclear power. However, one must first understand what a nuclear
weapon truly is to understand how they can be a threat. Nuclear weapons are devices that are
"designed to release energy in an explosive manner as a result of nuclear fission, nuclear fusion or a
combination of the two processes" (Norris).
There are various kinds of nuclear weapons, the most common being fission, and fusion weapons.
Fission weapons are often called atomic bombs. Fission (atomic) bombs can be simple to build
although obtaining the materials for them can be tough. The material needs to have a high
probability of undergoing neutron–induced fission, produce a fair number of neutrons with each
reaction, have a reasonably long half–life, and have fissile material that is accessible (easy to dig up
or easily made in a nuclear reactor) (Bryan 83). The National Academy of Sciences says, "the
critical and indispensable ingredient of a nuclear explosive device is either highly enriched uranium
or separated plutonium–239. Highly enriched uranium is produced by separating the fissionable

The Weapons Of Nuclear Weapons
Nuclear weapon, as defined by Oxford dictionary, is a "bomb or missile that uses nuclear energy to
cause an explosion". This explosion can cause a massive obliteration within a very short time. The
first and only appalling event these nuclear weapons have ever been used was in Japan 1945 against
the innocent civilians of Nagasaki and Hiroshima which killed around 185,000 citizens in total, as
stated by BBC UK. (1)Despite the development and creation of several treaties and solutions to
eradicate or reduce the use of weapons in order to increase security around the world, the abolition
of these weapons is a very far away dream. The possession of nuclear weapons, at present day, is a
very futile utility as it causes catastrophic harm towards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More so, this essay will elaborate on several incidences where nuclear weapons, along with their
management and development by extension, have been disastrous.
As a catastrophically negative effect humanity would not be able to rise from the pain, suffering and
death. I strongly believe that ownership of nuclear weapons leads to harm and destruction with the
long term effects of disease and ,eventually, death. The chain of reaction leads to mass destruction.
For example, in 1945, the United Stated bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki city, led to 185,000
deaths, 70% of physical destruction as well as amplified rates of diseases such as Cancer. Japan may
have surrendered but the generations to come suffer the effects the most and the world would only
experience this effect through movies and historical text. If that was not enough evidence, then the
nuclear testing legacies such as Chernobyl and three mile island incidents showed the effects of
these nuclear weapons . The Chernobyl disaster, led to the death of thirty people and generations of
increased thyroid cancer.(3) As seen by the events mentioned, the making, testing and thereafter
employment of these weapons leads to intolerable disasters. "Nuclear weapons are unique in their
destructive power, in the unspeakable human

Evolution Of Gun Weapons
The Evolution of Guns From Muskets to automatic Assault rifles, guns have improved ever since the
first use of them. The invention of firearms all began in China, where gunpowder was first created in
the ninth century. Although the Chinese created gunpowder in the 9th century, the first recorded use
of a firearm was in the thirteenth century in the year of 1364. The first use of firearms proof marks
in the year of 1637. Firearms have been improved and are still improving. Some changes that have
been made ever since the first use of a gun include the weight of the gun, better accuracy, bigger
magazines, and better reliability. During war, all of these changes were important to make a better
weapon. Firearms went from being able to shoot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

made an incredible impact in this world in both good and bad ways. The evolution of guns can

World War 2 (WWII) was one of the most deadly and destructive events to ever happen in human

millions of soldiers with tanks. This essay details the various classes of weapons carried and used by
infantry soldiers, including the multiple classes of guns.

A 19th century technology, these rifles were powerful and very accurate weapons, effective to a long
range of over half a mile, but since they required manual reloading after each shot, they were never
suitable for combat situations which demanded a rapid rate of fire, and were therefore replaced
during the war by newer weapons. The only combat role where bolt–action rifles are the best even
today, are sniper rifles, where their long effective range and high accuracy are the only things that
count. These are bolt–action rifles which are adapted with magnifying telescopic sights, and often
also with additional enhancements such as bipods, cushions, and higher standard production, all in
order to maximize the sniper's ability to deliver the few selective shots that can sometimes affect the
battlefield more than a hail of less accurate bullets. Semi–Automatic Rifles were the natural
development from the bolt–action rifle. By simply adding an automatic reloading mechanism, these
guns provided the soldier with a significantly faster rate of fire, not just technically, but also because
he could keep his aiming eye on the sights and on the target between shots, making continuous
aiming and firing possible. These quickly became the basic personal weapons of World War 2

Chemical Weapons And Nuclear Weapons
Chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons have changed the way that people look at wars forever.
Since their implementation into the battlefield, it has been realized that these taboo weapons are
ones to be feared. Responsible for an extravagant amount of deaths over the past eighty years,
chemical, biological, and nuclear threats are not to take lightly. A nuclear weapon is an "explosive
device designed to derive its destructive explosion via nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, or a
combination of the two processes". The implementation of nuclear weapons was a
Figure 1) serious game changer, and gave the upper hand to the more technologically advanced
countries because of the scientific efforts that go into developing these weapons, making the
possession of nuclear weapons a more apt problem for nations themselves, rather than non–state
actors, such as terrorist groups. As shown in Figure 1, there has been a general steady decrease of
the amount of nuclear weapons held by the United States. This is where chemical and biological
weapons differ from nuclear weapons. Over the past years, chemical and biological weapons have
seen more action, and this can be attested to the significant difference in developing these weapons.
Because chemical and biological weapons are so easily acquired, it is more likely to see them being
used by terrorist groups rather than nations themselves. Because of the potential threats and easy
obtainment of biological weapons, they are potentially the

Essay on Weapons Accountability
Weapons Accountability in the Military The history of weapons started centuries ago when cave
people initially developed a weapon called a bow and arrow, for hunting purposes. They created this
weapon from yew or elm for the bow and the arrow's shaft, and used animal ligaments, or sinew to
add tension to the bow. Archeologists have also found arrow heads made of sharp rocks and angled
bones from different types of animals. These artifacts are all over the world displayed beautifully in
museums to make new civilization realize the important role weapons have played in daily life.

We seem to take it for granted that we're going to have our weapon on us at all times. Here in a war
zone, as much as in a survival situation back stateside, there will be many times when a soldier is
not within arm's length of his firearm. He might be working on a vehicle in the motor pool, or
having a cigarette outside, or just hanging around his living quarters. At none of these times is his
rifle likely to be in hand or slung behind his back.
Another factor is that, despite the fact that we're in a war zone, in this war at least, soldiers don't fire
their rifles too terribly often. Those of us in signal units certainly don't. Most of the time, your
firearm is less a weapon than a damned thing you have to carry around all the time. This leads to
complacency.
A soldier's job type can be a distraction factor, too. My job description doesn't have anything to do
with shooting at people, and when I'm sitting in the TCF checking on link and reading mail, I don't
give my rifle a second thought. The same is true of most other soldiers; even combat arms soldiers
lose track of their rifles when they're working on vehicles, doing work detail, and so on. "Out of
sight, out of mind." Survival situations can bring their own share of distractions, too.
What does this teach us? Very simply, it teaches us that even in a place where you would think your

An Ashigaru would be the owner of the ancient Nodashi swords or great swords. These were the
province of the lowly foot soldier who were looked down upon by the Samarai. These foot warriors
were common born and often conscripted and poorly trained. They were rewarded only in loot at the
end of a successful campaign and even carried in their own food. While the high born Samarai
looked down on the Ashigaru and felt they had nothing of worth to contribute, the longer reach of a

Ancient Egyptian Weapons
In ancient history, weapons carried more importance than they do today. Ranging from maces,
javelins, axes, daggers to more technologically advanced bows and arrows, swords, spears, lances,
and even sling–shots and battering rams to break into fortresses, ancient Egyptians too had a diverse
portfolio of weaponry. Extending beyond as tools to slay enemies, weapons were means to
domesticate wild animals, ways to express social and political status, and items to be used in
religious ceremonies. Therefore, looking into the developmental history of weapons and their uses

then, the navy was a part of the 'expedition and building department' and its top executives were

What Are Assault Weapons?
All around the world, there has been multiple mass shootings with numerous genres of guns, but the
most lethal gun we face today is the assault rifle. Firstly, in the last 10 years 14 mass shootings have

starting to be acknowledged for their speed and capability to produce a mass body count, so they are
becoming a mass shooters' weapon of choice. In contrast, 42 guns that can hold a high amount of
ammo in one magazine were found in 31 mass shootings, 20 assault weapons in 14, and 33 cases

Ww2 Weapons Essay
Have you ever wondered what weapons were like back in WWII compared to present time or when
the computer and the atm were created and why they were created or even how major medical
inventions like penicillin were made and how they were used? All these inventions were made in
WWII but adapted to everyday life. It is amazing to see how inventions that may have been made
for bad things have been changed throughout time and become used for better things.
In World War Two, one of the weapons they used to use was the MP40. The MP40 was one of the
favorite weapons in WWII for its fast firing and large ammo capacity which would longer firing
rate. Another weapon that was used during WWII was the M1 Carbine which was light for its size
and could be accessed quickly if needed to. The M1 had some minor flaws and one of which was its
small ammo capacity but it could fire really fast. The AA gun was a weapon made for shooting
planes out of the sky but it lacked accuracy and it often took thousands of rounds to actually hit the
plane. The AA gun or the Anti–Aircraft gun had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The well–known theory of the Berlin aesthetic theorist Friedrich Kittler was necessary for the
development of the computer. The first computer was called "Colossus" and was used for military
purposes. Another technological invention was the "ATM" and it was set out during the 1960's but
invented in the 1940's. The computer when it was originally invented was used for deciphering Nazi
enigma codes to try and figure out what the codes were trying to get out to the other Nazis. The
computer worked very well with the enigma codes and it was one of the reasons that we won the
war; the fact that we could basically listen in on the Nazi's communications. The maker of the
computer, Konrad Zuse, had intended the computer to be made for civilian use at first, but then the
first computer ended up being used for the military

Artillery Weapons In Ww2
One of the most remarkable advances in artillery weapons in WWII was the proximity fuse. In both
of the World Wars there was a need for a fuse that could air burst over targets without the need for
registrations. By 1944 the U.S. had built an operational proximity fuse. On the morning of
December 16, 1944, the commander of the U.S. 406th Artillery Group, Colonel George Axelson.
Had his battalion shoot the first VT fuze in support of the 38th Cavalry Squadron. That was dug in
around the town of Monschau, Germany and about to be overrun by the German offensive. The
Germans stopped their attack of the 38th Cavalry Squadron when the shells fired from the 406th
Artillery Group bust over the heads. The function of the field artillery is to be

Having a gun in your home can make it safer. However, there are a few safety tips you will need to
take in order to prevent a gun accident. Below is a list of weapon safety tips.
Get To Know Your Weapon
When you purchase a firearm, you will need to familiarize yourself with how it operates. You will
need to read the manual. You should know how to remove ammunition from the firearm. You will
also need to know how to safely close and open the action of your firearm.
Store Your Weapon In A Safe Place
An accident can easily occur if a weapon is left out in a place where an unauthorized person can get
it. That is why you should keep your weapon locked up when it is not being used. A gun vault,
storage case and locked cabinet are examples of

Ban on Assault Weapons
In today's society the topic of assault weapons have been very controversial. From mass shootings to
defending oneself, this is a topic that can be very difficult to agree on. In this paper I will be
discussing if the federal government should ban automatic weapons. In my opinion, assault weapons
should not be banned. With this decision, I consider the implications of the second amendment,
public safety, and the fact that weapons will never cease to exist. With these reasons I will explain to
show that the federal government should not ban automatic weapons.
One of the reasons I stand behind not allowing the federal government to ban automatic weapons
because under the constitution, the Second Amendment states "A well–regulated militia, ... Show

Public safety should not only be contingent upon assault weapon use but the actual public itself.
Weapons will never cease to exist because today, the majority of cases involving firearms used are
not legally bought or even registered, but are smuggled or stolen. There has not been much
progression at the federal level regardless of nationwide news coverage on the recent mass killings,
and not a lot of detail of what will happen in the future of a law that will ban weapons. In my
opinion weapons should not be banned, because in reality this nation is not a harmless environment,
and to be defenseless in a needed time is not a good

Medieval Weapons Essay
In Medieval times weapons were a necessary part of life to protect them from enemies and invaders.
Some of the weapons include swords, polearms, and range weapons. Swords were most commonly
used. Polearms is a closed combat weapon. Ranged weapons are used to launch things.
A Falchion is a single–edged sword that you use with one hand. The Falchion looks like a modern
machete with a crossguard. It is a close armed weapon. It was developed from butcher's knives and
farmers'. The weight is more near the end, makes it more effective. The blade is single edge with a
slight curve on the blade. Later on some falchions were ornate and used by the nobility. The

It was a powerful wooden bow and was 6 to 7 feet long. The majority was made out of yew, but ash
and elm was also used. The arrow has a straight shaft with a sharp point on one end and measured
about 3 feet long. The knight had no protection against the longbow. "The power of the Medieval
Longbow was so great that at the Battle of Crecy, in 1346, the French army was decimated."
(Alchin) In this battle nearly 2000 soldiers and knights were killed with longbows. The crossbows is
a range weapon that has a bow mounted on the stock with a mechanism that holds the bow string. To
fire this a vertical rod is put up through the hole in the bottom of the notch which forces the string
out. Crossbow could be kept cocked and ready to use which led to a better aim. Crossbows have a
much smaller draw length than other bows which gives it a much higher draw weight. With enemies
and invaders weapons had to be used to stay alive. Swords were the most commonly used. With the
falchion that you use with one hand to the longsword which you have to use both hands. The
polearms were a good weapon because they were used to extend the weapons especially when the
soldiers were on foot. The ranged weapons was great to use in wars because it gave a better

Indian Weapons And Their Strengths
Strengths: The weapons were far more accurate and dependable than the muskets of the whites, at
least until the more advanced rifles were invented. Even then the rifles were unpredictable. A
warrior could fire 10–15 arrows before a musket or muzzle loaded rifle could be reloaded. If a
warrior ran out of arrows, he could make more; he could not make more lead or powder. If his bow
broke, he could make another, he could not make a firearm. A warrior carried spare bow strings. If
one broke it could be replaced in a few seconds. A bow could be fired when wet, black powder will
not work if it is wet. A flint knife was sharper than any steel knife. Obsidian knives are 1000 times
sharper than surgical steel. The First Nations warriors were made fearless

Weapons from the 1600's are not as advanced as the weapons are in today's modern time. These
weapons that are involved are shields, bows, swords, and spears. Shields in today's time are more

Middle Ages were round with non–splitting wood, they were usually made with leather covers on
one or both sides of metal rims and a metal shield boss were typical. These weapons were used
throughout the whole Medieval Times. Bows and crossbows have been around for thousands of

hunting, and plenty of other things. Spears were basically designed to be thrown or to be kept in the
hands of a human. These spears were often used in tight formations like a shieldwall. Spears could
easily be hurled from a distance or used as a secondary killing tool to the sword. The long length of
the spear usually made it uncomfortable for soldiers on foot but great for those that were on
horseback who charge at their enemies to knock them off to the ground or to stab them on the

fifteen regular soldiers. Throwing spears were rarely seen when the middle ages started to come

Weapons Of Mass Destruction Of Nuclear Weapons
The fear and controversy over weapons of mass destruction of nuclear weapons is still an uprising
fear and subject in the heart of the American people, our allies, our enemies, and to the rest of the
world who simply just knows of the presence. Soviet Russia started that fear in the 1960s, becoming
the first large source of nuclear power and weapons (Cowley, 1996). Nuclear weapons undoubtedly
brought change on the overview of maritime warfare. The fear of this destructive source of weapon
brought political views on a new course of perspectives and tension. It created an arms race out of
fear and changed the ideas of naval presence and nuclear readiness. Nuclear weapons not only
changed conventional warfare but it also stopped it for a brief period of time. In that time new
tactics and strategies regarding nuclear defense and offense arose. Nuclear warfare changed the
conduct of maritime warfare in politics, strategies and tactics, and in foreign relations and conduct.
The Political world after World War II was filled with tension. With the dual detonation of nuclear
bombs, American leaders clashed heads and ideas of what needed to be done in the United States.
America continued to make these weapons. At first American leaders had no interest of the
integration of nuclear weapons in Unites States naval power. This was up until August 29th, 1949
when communist Soviet Russia detonated their first successful nuclear warhead at a test field (Jay,
2013). American

Greek Weapons
Throughout the Middle Ages, the creation and the types of weapons, as well as the techniques of
using them, were all different and were suited for a knight's own needs. Since every knight had
unique characteristics and fighting styles, blacksmiths had to cast weapons that met their
specifications. Additionally, the knights needed to be capable of using a plethora of weapons since
each had a specific purpose for different scenarios such as using projectile weapons for ranged
combat. In order to best serve their king, they had to use their weapons skillfully and effectively. To
achieve this, the knights had to know multiple weapon techniques and fighting styles to help them
outsmart or outmaneuver their opponents. Since the knights' job was ... Show more content on

An aspect that made the creation of a weapon complex were the different physical properties of a
weapon such as the shape of the blade, weight, length, and handle design, which all varied
depending on the characteristics of the owner. For example, a weak male knight was recommended
to carry a lighter sword, so that he would be able to swing his weapon with ease. If the weak knight
carried an extremely heavy sword, the sword would be more difficult to swing, which then causes
the knight's skill in swordsmanship to diminish. Because of this, blacksmiths needed to be
knowledgeable of how each weapon functioned in relation to its physical characteristics. The first
step in creating a weapon was to find iron ores, which was the main resource used to craft many
weapons. Miners had to search for iron ores in the ground and also extract the iron from them. This
process was already quite time consuming and required a lot of difficult work. The crafting of the
actual weapon was even more arduous since blacksmiths had to hammer and weld together thin
strips of iron and steel of varying hardnesses to form the core of the blade. The production of an
average steel sword often took around a week for a decent blacksmith. However, if they were
working on a weapon specifically for their king, it took around six months to ensure perfect

The Meaning Of The Assault Weapons
The public does not know the proper federal meaning of the assault weapon entirely. The abridged
definition of the assault weapon is that it is the semi–automatic firearm similar to the military
defense. In the semi–automatic assault weapon, the trigger is pulled for every shot before the rifle
releases the shell to send the new round that prepares the gun for the second shot (Jacobs 681). The
military rifle has some slight differences from the semi–automatic rifle since it has the mechanics,
which lets the fire bullets constantly up to the time that the clip finishes the ammo. After pulling the
trigger, the rifle will fire without ending. The US government has regulated the assault weapons
massively since 1934, yet it does not address it in legislation prohibition.
In contrary, it is inevitable that the US government may ban the assault weapons from the civilian
use based on the current situation (Fox & Monica 125). This issue is very disappointing since the
current survey indicates that the Americans never favor the ban on the assault weapons despite the
fact that they support the strong laws on the gun control. The issue raised has raised a considerable
debate on whether the government should ban the assault weapon or not. Some people support the
idea while others oppose it.
The evidence to support this issue is that the initial point of view involves the logical standpoint of
possessing the assault weapon. The design of the assault weapon is to kill various things

Weapons In The Elizabethan Era
The latest weaponry
Did you know that in the Elizabethan era, weapons were one of the reason of fashion? In our
modern world today, you won't see anyone walking or strolling in public with a 72 inch rapier and
with a 6–12 inch dagger. Well back in the Elizabethan era and in Shakespeare time that was one of
the fashion that either knights have or rich kids had. In the Elizabethan era the fashion for the
knights are to decorate their rapiers to show their towns people they have money and they have a lot
of respect. Should we be allowed to carry a weapon such as a firearm, knife, or a dagger? In my
opinion I feel like we should carry a firearm but of course the people that do get one has to have a
permit. Such as in Texas and in Colorado they are allowed to carry a firearm. So why can't we have
rights to carry a firearm? Like in the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and his friends are walking

Weapon Bias Essay
Keith Payne from University of North Carolina conducted a study of weapon bias, split–second
decisions and unintended stereotyping. The basis of this study was that sometimes stereotypes aid
people in seeing a weapon when there actually is not one. These situations come into play especially
when individuals like law enforcement officials or military officials, are in situations of action and
have to make a split second–decision. Payne wanted to find answers to his questions of weapon bias
so in turn he conducted an experimental study. In this study, participants had to distinguish between
hand tools and guns. The catch was that while distinguishing between each object participants were
faced with either a white face or black face. There were two trials were participants took their own
time decide and then they had only about a few seconds. Participants were not supposed to look at

Biological Weapons Vs Nuclear Weapons
Terrorists would be more likely to utilize a biological weapon over a nuclear weapon against the
United States for multiple reasons. The creation process, required funding, and resources needed to
obtain possession of a biological weapon, compared to a nuclear weapon, are easier. As stated by
Kostadinov and Galabova, "with their features bio–agents are ideal as a terrorists weapons
undoubtedly proved by performed bioterrorism assessment" (Kostadinov, 2010, p. 303). The use of
a biological weapon is the, for lack of a better term, best choice for terrorists to use against their
enemies. The biggest goal they are going for is to inflict the largest amount of fear throughout the
population as possible. It is a very scary thing to know that the

Weapons In The Odyssey
The way that weapons were depicted in the book is that they were a destructive force to be reckoned
with. They were portrayed as something bad people, aka the Japs, Nazis, and Italians, used.
Airplanes, on the other hand, were given a good rep at the beginning of the book when they went
out and did destructive damage for the Allies. But when they were used to shoot at the Allies, they
were thought to be the weapons of Satan himself. Resolving at the end of the book though, they
were finally thought of life–savers when they went to rescue Louie, Allan, etc. Weapons, on the
other hand, were always depicted as gruesome killing objects, and that they were, are, and will be,
but the way they were shown they were only used by the Axis. I'm not saying or even suggesting
that what the Nazis did was morally correct, acceptable, or even somehow conceivably right. I'm

were enough so that the crews from a B–17E couldn't be transferred to B–17G. That is not to say

we had not officially joined. The Boeing B–17 was this plane. We had only constructed 42 D's

modifications on the interior and only a change in the style of bubble top in the cockpit, the Japs and
Nazis received a nasty surprise when they were trying to chase these down. With all of these interior
changes and only a minor tint change on the outside, you think you're chasing a B–17E and you end

Concealed Weapons In Schools
In the past, there have been several shootings in schools across the nation. However, the students
and staffs are questioning should the concealed weapon permit carriers have firearms in their
possession on college campuses. Even though concealed weapon permit carriers are protecting
themselves from harm by having their firearms; still other people are raising their eyebrows. On the
other hand, there are other people who think carrying concealed weapons on campuses will cause
more harm and the death toll will rise. As Time. Com writer Josh Sanburn points out that "the
shooting at Umpqua Community College on Oct. 1, which claimed 10 lives including the gunman, is
by far the worst incident on a college campus this year" (qtd. in Sanburn). Therefore,

Concealed Weapons Essay
For hundreds of years, the United States has debated to what extent the 2nd amendment has really
applied to the citizens of the nation. Concealed weapons licenses have almost always been an option
for the people to feel safe knowing they are protected, but many think that this is the reason for such
crime this world sees, and have tried to take that power from "We the People." Concealed weapons
availability should not be tinkered with, and the 2nd amendment shall stand as it has for the last 224
years.
Citizens have the right to carry weapons without those around them knowing they do. That right,
clearly stated in the 2nd amendment goes as follows; "The right of the people to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed." To infringe is to "wrongly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We must realize that criminals are criminals, and removing citizens' rights to firearms will not
remove the capacity for them to obtain weapons. Removing gun rights or restricting availability will
not only contradict the statement of the 2nd amendment but will kill our US citizens. Criminals will
obtain weapons through any source to complete crimes supposed to make them wealthier or have
the "toys" of this world. The crimes will continue, the only difference will be that of citizens self
protection. Instead the US government and government of the stated should be focused on proper
use of the firearms and the revision of current laws.
Carrying a concealed weapon is the biggest factor of most crimes. The people involved in the crime
do not know of the weapon, at first. It is hidden, concealed. If the laws and regulations are revised
and "tightened up" this will not be such a great factor. If every concealed carrier has to go through
background checks and other items, such as proper training, this will insure public safety and
drastically reduce the immature use of firearms. Rules of the current day have worked "good
enough" in the past, but in a world where crime is current every which way you turn, there is steps
needed to be

Iran Nuclear Weapons, Weapons

  • 1. Iran Nuclear Weapons, Weapons Iran's Nuclear Weapons Description: Nuclear weapons, weapons that could potentially destroy civilization, are a new topic in International relations during the twentieth and twenty–first centuries. After the United States made a nuclear bomb at the end of WWI, soon other countries followed. By now, there are more than fifty nations intervened with the bomb. A few years ago, Iran and the United States decided to form a deal regarding Iran's possession of nuclear weapons (Habtoor, 2015). The deal, still in the form of a framework outlining the real agreement, will be ready by the end of June ("The Iran nuclear deal," 2015). It will be signed by Germany, Russia, UK, US, China, France, and Iran ("The Iran nuclear deal," 2015). In October 2013, the newspaper Jerusalem Post brought up the point that the United States and Israel do not know for sure if Iran has already started building the bomb or even if Iran already has one ("What does getting the bomb mean?," 2013). Despite these uncertainties and difficulties to detect Iran's intentions, in 2013, most of the neighboring nations and the US agreed that Iran currently did not have the nuclear weapon, although it will most likely make one in the next few years ("What does getting the bomb mean?,"). Approximately two years later in April 2015, after the framework for the agreement has been agreed on, Iran's neighboring nations publicly opposed plans for the future agreement. • 3. Technology Is The Weapon Of Choice Since the beginning of time, mankind has been at war with himself for every imaginable reason. In 2700 BC Mesopotamia, the armies of Sumer and Elam went to war. During this first recorded conflict, the bow was the weapon of choice. Over the next 4,700 years, the character of war has changed dramatically with the introduction of new technologies such as iron, steel, and gunpowder. Today the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is the weapon of choice. For the U.S. military, the use of UAV technology accelerated in the 1990's and continued through the past 14 years of sustained conflict. In 2002, the United States had 167 UAVs and over 7,000 just 10 years later. Although UAVs do not require a human in the cockpit, they are still controlled by a human who makes flight and targeting decisions. However, technology is leading developers to push the envelope and develop weapon systems that have the ability to act without human input or intervention, in all domains of warfare, which like the airplane in WWI, could have dramatic implications for the character of future wars. In 2010, the Department of Defense said that autonomy was the single greatest theme for advancing modern unmanned systems. General Robert Cone, Director of the U.S. Army's Training and Doctrine Command, stated, "the Army is evaluating the possibility of replacing twenty–five percent of manpower in Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) with robotics and unmanned systems." Over 30 nations already operate human–supervised ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Weapons And Weapons Of Weapons When you think of weapons now–a–days, you think of guns, guns, and guns, however it wasn't always about guns. In fact, the first weapon was probably just a stone or stick of some sort. For years and years to date, weapons have been around. So you could imagine that when technology advances, the weapons come with advances as well. The engineering of weapons have also been around since weapons, whether it had a name or not. As long as weapons have been around, weapon engineering and the advancement of weapons have been around. Weapons date back starting around the stone age, when weapons, of course were made with stone, included: spears, axes, clubs, and of course rocks. Later, around the Greco–Roman period (332 BC, 395AD), swords and shields were added into the mix. Battering rams, catapults, and crossbows were the most common in the middle ages of 500 AD – 1500. And not until the 18th century when the industrial revolution came is when guns were added, along with cannons. In today's time, although guns are still being used, the modern day and future weapons are computers, which use GPS, radars, and can even control things like robots. With more and more technological advances like this, there will be a huge need for people who profession in weapon engineering to complete these task and innovate new ideas. "As a Weapons Engineer, you're like all Engineers in that your job is all about scientific and mathematical problem solving. Using computer–aided design (CAD) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Carry Concealed Weapons There have been at least two school shootings a month in 2015. Of the 52 shootings, 21 have been at colleges and universities, 15 at high schools, three at middle schools, 10 at elementary schools, two at preschools, and one on a school bus (52 School Shootings 1). With all these school shootings, why wouldn't you want to carry a gun? Guns can protect people. If a shooter confronts a person and they see that person is armed they might think twice about what they are doing. Shouldn't you feel some sort of protection and self–defense if you have a gun? Even though some say teachers and students should not carry concealed weapons, they should be allowed to carry concealed weapons on college campuses because of self–defense, protection, and it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fernandez claims that, "Supporters say it will make college campuses safer by not preventing licensed gun owners from defending themselves and possibly saving lives should a mass shooting occur, such as the one that unfolded at Virginia Tech University in 2007" (Fernandez 1). If someone wants to protect themselves why would you want to stop them? If they are trained and responsible and could possibly save lives would you want to be the person to stop them and say no? For example, say a student sees a problem going on in the parking lot of the campus. And the student knows they can stop it because they have a weapon in their car. The student can then grab the gun and try to stop the problem before it gets out of hand. Your car is an extension of your home. This provides safety for college campuses because they know that the students and teachers carrying those weapons are responsible and trained and can possibly save lives if a shooting were to occur there. Out of all of the school shootings that happen a year, there are at least two a month. School shootings can happen anywhere at any time, like preschools, high schools, elementarys. This is why teachers and students should carry concealed weapons. Teachers and students should be able to carry weapons because it is a way for self–defense, protection, and safety. As can be seen, teachers and students should be allowed to carry on college ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Gun And Weapon System The United States of America has many citizens that live and make up their life there. But then when there are bad people, bad people get into good people lives and ruin their lives. If they guns for example and other dangerous weapons. So, what I mean that they should enforce the gun and other weapons. Innocent people are dying, many people are becoming mean and bad, and last, people have to bear arms, have a gun. But many don't use it for good thing or situations. That is why they, the government, have to enforce the gun and weapon system. First reason is that innocent people are dying of bad people having dangerous weapons. Also these weapons are a danger to people. Gunpowder weapons had much more power than their bow counterparts, there were new offensive and defensive weapons, and there were new siege machines that could change the outcome of breaching a fortification. Medieval times were filled with wars, for instance the 100 Year War. Gunpowder weapons were so much more powerful than bows and crossbows. There were many different types of siege engines, most were very big so they had to be built at the battle site before everything started or as it was happening. Three main types of siege weapons were used: torsion, counter–weight, and gunpowder. There was everything from trebuchets and catapults to crossbows and bombards. Trebuchets were the most popular siege engine in the medieval era, they used a long arm attached to a fulcrum and a heavy "counter–weight" that threw up the arm to throw a projectile. There were many more weapons like the trebuchet that were used in other siege situations like torsion weapons. Torsion weapons used a twisted rope to spin either a slinged or cuped arm to fling projectiles. Most of the time torsion weapons were much smaller. They were widely used in the Roman Empire because of their mobility. There were also things like the "Siege Tortoise" that protected miners as they burrowed under walls to get into a fortification. Tanks were the main armored vehicle of World War 2 because they were effective on the battlefield and easy to build.Tanks played a major role in the war and could be found in almost all of the battles.Tanks in World War 2 were made better to devastate their opponent both physically and mentally, but they weren't without flaws. To begin with, tanks are an iconic staple in the military today, but it wasn't always like that. The first tanks were lightly armored vehicles with some guns on them developed by the Soviets and the Nazis(WW2 Museum 2010). Most of these vehicles were slow and vulnerable to almost any attack and needed a group of men to operate. But, as the war progressed tanks got faster, better, stronger, and easier to operate (Tanks of War 2013).Tanks started out as a slow moving pile of steel and became the beasts as we know them today. ... Throughout the war most of the countries were racing to develop the most technologically advanced tanks so they could dominate the battlefield (WW2 Museum 2010). To counter all the tanks, counties also developed anti–tank artillery and tank–destroyers, also tanks, so they could fire and destroy tanks from a range longer than a tanks range. Two of the most advanced tanks of their time were the American Sherman M4 and the German Waffen SS (Tanks of War 2013). The Sherman m4 was the fourth generation of the medium tanks made by the United States and it was very easy to produce and maintain (WW2 Museum 2010). • 21. Nuclear Weapons And Atomic Weapons Essay Nuclear weapons are a threatening war tactic that has become more frequent in the new media, especially in the past few weeks after Hillary Clinton released an updated version of the "Daisy" ad inferring that if elected, Donald Trump will misuse the nuclear weapons of the United States. Nuclear power is a big responsibility and since the start of its use, scientists and politicians have tried to separate weapons and nuclear power. However, one must first understand what a nuclear weapon truly is to understand how they can be a threat. Nuclear weapons are devices that are "designed to release energy in an explosive manner as a result of nuclear fission, nuclear fusion or a combination of the two processes" (Norris). There are various kinds of nuclear weapons, the most common being fission, and fusion weapons. Fission weapons are often called atomic bombs. Fission (atomic) bombs can be simple to build although obtaining the materials for them can be tough. The material needs to have a high probability of undergoing neutron–induced fission, produce a fair number of neutrons with each reaction, have a reasonably long half–life, and have fissile material that is accessible (easy to dig up or easily made in a nuclear reactor) (Bryan 83). The National Academy of Sciences says, "the critical and indispensable ingredient of a nuclear explosive device is either highly enriched uranium or separated plutonium–239. Highly enriched uranium is produced by separating the fissionable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The Weapons Of Nuclear Weapons Nuclear weapon, as defined by Oxford dictionary, is a "bomb or missile that uses nuclear energy to cause an explosion". This explosion can cause a massive obliteration within a very short time. The first and only appalling event these nuclear weapons have ever been used was in Japan 1945 against the innocent civilians of Nagasaki and Hiroshima which killed around 185,000 citizens in total, as stated by BBC UK. (1)Despite the development and creation of several treaties and solutions to eradicate or reduce the use of weapons in order to increase security around the world, the abolition of these weapons is a very far away dream. The possession of nuclear weapons, at present day, is a very futile utility as it causes catastrophic harm towards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More so, this essay will elaborate on several incidences where nuclear weapons, along with their management and development by extension, have been disastrous. As a catastrophically negative effect humanity would not be able to rise from the pain, suffering and death. I strongly believe that ownership of nuclear weapons leads to harm and destruction with the long term effects of disease and ,eventually, death. The chain of reaction leads to mass destruction. For example, in 1945, the United Stated bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki city, led to 185,000 deaths, 70% of physical destruction as well as amplified rates of diseases such as Cancer. Japan may have surrendered but the generations to come suffer the effects the most and the world would only experience this effect through movies and historical text. If that was not enough evidence, then the nuclear testing legacies such as Chernobyl and three mile island incidents showed the effects of these nuclear weapons . The Chernobyl disaster, led to the death of thirty people and generations of increased thyroid cancer.(3) As seen by the events mentioned, the making, testing and thereafter employment of these weapons leads to intolerable disasters. • 29. Ww2 Weapons Essay World War 2 (WWII) was one of the most deadly and destructive events to ever happen in human history. Even with tanks and aircraft, the foot soldiers remain an essential element of modern armies, both because there are tasks they do best, and because even the richest nations can't afford to equip millions of soldiers with tanks. This essay details the various classes of weapons carried and used by infantry soldiers, including the multiple classes of guns. Pistols are generally not suitable for military fighting. With their very short effective range and little ammunition, they are carried in combat by soldiers who are not expected to use them as their main fighting weapon, such as airmen, senior officers, non–combatant soldiers, and other military ... A 19th century technology, these rifles were powerful and very accurate weapons, effective to a long range of over half a mile, but since they required manual reloading after each shot, they were never suitable for combat situations which demanded a rapid rate of fire, and were therefore replaced during the war by newer weapons. The only combat role where bolt–action rifles are the best even today, are sniper rifles, where their long effective range and high accuracy are the only things that count. These are bolt–action rifles which are adapted with magnifying telescopic sights, and often also with additional enhancements such as bipods, cushions, and higher standard production, all in order to maximize the sniper's ability to deliver the few selective shots that can sometimes affect the battlefield more than a hail of less accurate bullets. Semi–Automatic Rifles were the natural development from the bolt–action rifle. By simply adding an automatic reloading mechanism, these guns provided the soldier with a significantly faster rate of fire, not just technically, but also because he could keep his aiming eye on the sights and on the target between shots, making continuous aiming and firing possible. • 31. Chemical Weapons And Nuclear Weapons Chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons have changed the way that people look at wars forever. Since their implementation into the battlefield, it has been realized that these taboo weapons are ones to be feared. Responsible for an extravagant amount of deaths over the past eighty years, chemical, biological, and nuclear threats are not to take lightly. A nuclear weapon is an "explosive device designed to derive its destructive explosion via nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, or a combination of the two processes". The implementation of nuclear weapons was a Figure 1) serious game changer, and gave the upper hand to the more technologically advanced countries because of the scientific efforts that go into developing these weapons, making the possession of nuclear weapons a more apt problem for nations themselves, rather than non–state actors, such as terrorist groups. As shown in Figure 1, there has been a general steady decrease of the amount of nuclear weapons held by the United States. This is where chemical and biological weapons differ from nuclear weapons. Over the past years, chemical and biological weapons have seen more action, and this can be attested to the significant difference in developing these weapons. Because chemical and biological weapons are so easily acquired, it is more likely to see them being used by terrorist groups rather than nations themselves. Because of the potential threats and easy obtainment of biological weapons, they are potentially the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Archeologists have also found arrow heads made of sharp rocks and angled bones from different types of animals. Here in a war zone, as much as in a survival situation back stateside, there will be many times when a soldier is not within arm's length of his firearm. He might be working on a vehicle in the motor pool, or having a cigarette outside, or just hanging around his living quarters. At none of these times is his rifle likely to be in hand or slung behind his back. Another factor is that, despite the fact that we're in a war zone, in this war at least, soldiers don't fire their rifles too terribly often. Those of us in signal units certainly don't. Most of the time, your firearm is less a weapon than a damned thing you have to carry around all the time. This leads to complacency. A soldier's job type can be a distraction factor, too. My job description doesn't have anything to do with shooting at people, and when I'm sitting in the TCF checking on link and reading mail, I don't give my rifle a second thought. The same is true of most other soldiers; even combat arms soldiers lose track of their rifles when they're working on vehicles, doing work detail, and so on. "Out of sight, out of mind." An aspect that made the creation of a weapon complex were the different physical properties of a weapon such as the shape of the blade, weight, length, and handle design, which all varied depending on the characteristics of the owner. For example, a weak male knight was recommended to carry a lighter sword, so that he would be able to swing his weapon with ease. If the weak knight carried an extremely heavy sword, the sword would be more difficult to swing, which then causes the knight's skill in swordsmanship to diminish. Because of this, blacksmiths needed to be knowledgeable of how each weapon functioned in relation to its physical characteristics. The first step in creating a weapon was to find iron ores, which was the main resource used to craft many weapons. Miners had to search for iron ores in the ground and also extract the iron from them. This process was already quite time consuming and required a lot of difficult work. The crafting of the actual weapon was even more arduous since blacksmiths had to hammer and weld together thin strips of iron and steel of varying hardnesses to form the core of the blade. • 65. The Meaning Of The Assault Weapons The public does not know the proper federal meaning of the assault weapon entirely. The abridged definition of the assault weapon is that it is the semi–automatic firearm similar to the military defense. In the semi–automatic assault weapon, the trigger is pulled for every shot before the rifle releases the shell to send the new round that prepares the gun for the second shot (Jacobs 681). The military rifle has some slight differences from the semi–automatic rifle since it has the mechanics, which lets the fire bullets constantly up to the time that the clip finishes the ammo. After pulling the trigger, the rifle will fire without ending. The US government has regulated the assault weapons massively since 1934, yet it does not address it in legislation prohibition. In contrary, it is inevitable that the US government may ban the assault weapons from the civilian use based on the current situation (Fox & Monica 125). This issue is very disappointing since the current survey indicates that the Americans never favor the ban on the assault weapons despite the fact that they support the strong laws on the gun control. The issue raised has raised a considerable debate on whether the government should ban the assault weapon or not. Some people support the idea while others oppose it. • 69. Weapon Bias Essay Keith Payne from University of North Carolina conducted a study of weapon bias, split–second decisions and unintended stereotyping. The basis of this study was that sometimes stereotypes aid people in seeing a weapon when there actually is not one. These situations come into play especially when individuals like law enforcement officials or military officials, are in situations of action and have to make a split second–decision. Payne wanted to find answers to his questions of weapon bias so in turn he conducted an experimental study. In this study, participants had to distinguish between hand tools and guns. The catch was that while distinguishing between each object participants were faced with either a white face or black face. There were two trials were participants took their own time decide and then they had only about a few seconds. Participants were not supposed to look at race while making their decisions. Results showed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ERN deals with detecting conflicts with ongoing activity in the brain. • 71. Biological Weapons Vs Nuclear Weapons Terrorists would be more likely to utilize a biological weapon over a nuclear weapon against the United States for multiple reasons. The creation process, required funding, and resources needed to obtain possession of a biological weapon, compared to a nuclear weapon, are easier. As stated by Kostadinov and Galabova, "with their features bio–agents are ideal as a terrorists weapons undoubtedly proved by performed bioterrorism assessment" (Kostadinov, 2010, p. 303). The use of a biological weapon is the, for lack of a better term, best choice for terrorists to use against their enemies. The biggest goal they are going for is to inflict the largest amount of fear throughout the population as possible. It is a very scary thing to know that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Weapons In The Odyssey The way that weapons were depicted in the book is that they were a destructive force to be reckoned with. They were portrayed as something bad people, aka the Japs, Nazis, and Italians, used. Airplanes, on the other hand, were given a good rep at the beginning of the book when they went out and did destructive damage for the Allies. But when they were used to shoot at the Allies, they were thought to be the weapons of Satan himself. Resolving at the end of the book though, they were finally thought of life–savers when they went to rescue Louie, Allan, etc. Weapons, on the other hand, were always depicted as gruesome killing objects, and that they were, are, and will be, but the way they were shown they were only used by the Axis. I'm not saying or even suggesting that what the Nazis did was morally correct, acceptable, or even somehow conceivably right. I'm only saying that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This series included the B–17C through the B–17H. The differences between the different types were enough so that the crews from a B–17E couldn't be transferred to B–17G. That is not to say they didn't rotate certain positions in times of need. The C was upgraded into the D before Pearl Harbor. So get that in your mind. We were already mass producing planes to send into a war which we had not officially joined. The Boeing B–17 was this plane. We had only constructed 42 D's before Pearl Harbor. The F was the first major change in the line of Flying Fortresses. With over 400 modifications on the interior and only a change in the style of bubble top in the cockpit, the Japs and Nazis received a nasty surprise when they were trying to chase these down. With all of these interior changes and only a minor tint change on the outside, you think you're chasing a B–17E and you end up getting shot down by the B–17F. The G had quite a few changes, but most were to the artillery measures and not to the weight or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Concealed Weapons In Schools In the past, there have been several shootings in schools across the nation. However, the students and staffs are questioning should the concealed weapon permit carriers have firearms in their possession on college campuses. Even though concealed weapon permit carriers are protecting themselves from harm by having their firearms; still other people are raising their eyebrows. On the other hand, there are other people who think carrying concealed weapons on campuses will cause more harm and the death toll will rise. As Time. Com writer Josh Sanburn points out that "the shooting at Umpqua Community College on Oct. 1, which claimed 10 lives including the gunman, is by far the worst incident on a college campus this year" (qtd. in Sanburn). • 77. Concealed Weapons Essay For hundreds of years, the United States has debated to what extent the 2nd amendment has really applied to the citizens of the nation. Concealed weapons licenses have almost always been an option for the people to feel safe knowing they are protected, but many think that this is the reason for such crime this world sees, and have tried to take that power from "We the People." Concealed weapons availability should not be tinkered with, and the 2nd amendment shall stand as it has for the last 224 years. Citizens have the right to carry weapons without those around them knowing they do. That right, clearly stated in the 2nd amendment goes as follows; "The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." To infringe is to "wrongly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We must realize that criminals are criminals, and removing citizens' rights to firearms will not remove the capacity for them to obtain weapons. Removing gun rights or restricting availability will not only contradict the statement of the 2nd amendment but will kill our US citizens. Criminals will obtain weapons through any source to complete crimes supposed to make them wealthier or have the "toys" of this world. The crimes will continue, the only difference will be that of citizens self protection. Instead the US government and government of the stated should be focused on proper use of the firearms and the revision of current laws. Carrying a concealed weapon is the biggest factor of most crimes. The people involved in the crime do not know of the weapon, at first. It is hidden, concealed. If the laws and regulations are revised and "tightened up" this will not be such a great factor. If every concealed carrier has to go through background checks and other items, such as proper training, this will insure public safety and drastically reduce the immature use of firearms. Rules of the current day have worked "good enough" in the past, but in a world where crime is current every which way you turn, there is steps needed to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
