Regulation 15
Apparatus, conductor, accessory or apparatus that is exposed to weather, water, corrosion,
undue heating or use in inflammable surroundings or in an explosive atmosphere shall be
constructed or protected in such a manner as to prevent danger.
Regulation 16
Switch, switch fuse, fuse switch, circuit breaker, contractor, fuse or circuit breaker shall be
constructed and arranged in such a manner so as to break the current when it exceeds a
given value for such a sufficient time to prevent danger or overheating, arcing or from the
scattering of hot metal or other substances or enclose.

Regulation 54 Cleansing and emptying surface and storm water drains, etc.
(2) The local authority may, with the sanction of the State Authority, cause all or any of such
surface and storm water drains, culverts, gutters and water-courses to communicate with and
be emptied into the sea or other fit place, or may cause the refuse from the same to be
conveyed by a proper channel to the most convenient site for its deposit, and may sell or
otherwise dispose of the said refuse for any agricultural or other purposes as are deemed
expedient so that it shall not become a nuisance.
Regulation 56 Rain-water pipes not to be used as soil pipes
(1) No pipe used for the carrying off of rain water from any roof shall be used for the purpose
of carrying off the soil or drainage from any privy or water-closet or any sullage water.

2. Sewage and Sanitary System Laws of Malaysia Act 133, Street Drainage and Building /act 1947
(1) No water-pipe, stack-pipe or down spout used for conveying surface water from any
premises shall be used or be permitted to serve or to act as a ventilating shaft to any
drain or sewer.
Reasoning
The installation and the design of the sanitary place is safe, so that the disposal waste could
be directed out of the building safely, without threatening the health of occupants.

89. A chase made in wall for pipes and other services facilities shall leave the wall at the
back of the chase, not less than 100mm thick in external wall and not less than 100mm
thick in party wall and shall not be wider than 200mm.
123. (2) The access openings to ducts or enclosures shall be long enough and suitably
placed to enable lengths of pipe to be installed and removed.
