● WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
● SEWERAGE & SANITARY SYSTEM
● RAINWATER / SURFACE DRAINAGE SYSTEM
2. 2.1 WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
Water supply system is is the water supply network that composed of
engineered hydraulic and hydrologic components. It is a system that supply
water to the building. Water will comes from the main water supply by SYABAS
distribute to different area through UPVC pipe.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
WATER METER
It is one of the main
component in water
supply system to record
the amount usage of
water per month.
UPVC PIPE (CLASS D)
STOPCOCK
WATER TANK
UPVC pipe has high
durability which makes it
suitable for high pressure
piping for water supply.
It is installed to control
and water flow as well as
it only required ease
maintenance.
Water storage that
connected from main
piping. It is located at
rooftop level to ease the
water flow due to gravity
UBBL - PIPE & SERVICE DUCT
UBBL BY-LAW 123:
Adequate spaces to
accommodate and access
pipe, stopcock to allow
repair, modification,
extension, maintenance and
access to ducts or
enclosure.
Ro ease the maintenance and
repair works, valves are
placed before outlets to
control the flow of water.
Size of the pipe gradually
decrease from the main pipe
to sub-distribution pipe to
prevent unnecessary
costings and to avoid delay
at outlets.

3. 2.2 ELECTRICAL SUPPLY SYSTEM
Electrical supply system is a network system use to supply and transfer
electric power to the lighting component in a building. It transfers electricity
from the transmission system to individual unit for every consumer.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
DISTRIBUTION BOX
It is used to subsidize
electricity to sub -outlet
at different area of a
building.
RECESSED LIGHT
SWITCH
CEILING CASSETTE
It is known as downlight
which is a type of lighting
fixtures that mounted into
the wall.
It is used to operate the
electric lights. It also came
with various type of
switches.
Ceiling mounted ductless
aircond system. It has two
separate unit known as
outdoor condensing unit
and indoor air handler.
ELECTRICAL- BY LAWS
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY ACT 1997:
REGULATION 16:
Fuse and circuit breaker are
arranged in such manner to so
as to break the current when it
exceed a given value for a
sufficient time to prevent danger
as well as to prevent danger
from overheating.
Any electrical supply system
shall not be over-looked as
improper design can cause rapid,
ineffective hearbeat, or even
death within minutes

4. 2.3 SEWERAGE AND SANITARY SYSTEM
Sewerage and sanitary system is a underground pipes network that
carrying sewage or waste products from bathroom, sinks and other plumbing
components to undergo a series of water treatment of filtration, treatment
and discharges.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
FLOOR TRAP
It is a floor drain
contains water seal that
remove foul gases and
waste products.
VENT COWL
MANHOLE
STACKED PIPE
It is used to filter and
remove the smell of sewer.
It can be found fitting into
stacked pipe
It is a designated sewer
opening that located on
the pavement and street to
allow people to enter to
sewerage below.
Plumbing waste fixtures
use to prevent sewer
gases and leakage into the
house.
SEWERAGE AND SANITARY
BY-LAWS:
LAW OF MALAYSIA ACT 133:
No pipe used for carrying off
of rain water from any roof
shall be used for the purpose
of carrying off soil or drainage
from any privy or water
closet or any slage water.
SECTION 57:
No water pipe, stack pipe or
downspout conveying surface
water from any premises
shall be used or be permitted
to serve or act as a
ventilating shaft to any drain
and sewer.

5. Rainwater is known as the surface water that run from the rooftop
through piping into sewerage system. Surface water can be collected in the
water tank for further usage.
2.4 RAINWATER/ SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
GUTTER
It is where the rainwater
flow into it under steep
roofing and flow into
several downpipes.
RAINWATER DOWNPIPE
PERIMETER DRAIN
It is used to channel
collected rainwater from
the gutter into drain sump.
It is to collect the
rainwater that flow into
drain sump. It is to avoid
rainwater from downpipe
to flow into pavement or
road side for safety
purposes.
RAINWATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM
BY LAWS:
BY-LAWS 115::
Any roof of the building shall be
constructed as to drain
effectively to suitable and
sufficient channels, gutter,
ghutes or through should be
provided accordance with the
requirements of these by laws
for receiving and conveying all
water which may fall on and off
the roof
