  6. 6. 6 Do help others first. Highlight them, encourage them and in return they will be there for you. DO
  7. 7. 7 Rant or be a Debbie Downer. Negative posts garner initial attention but it fades quickly. DON’T
  8. 8. Understand that social is your best self. You can mix pleasure and work but there’s a balance to maintain.8 DO
  9. 9. 9 Schedule some time for it. 20 minutes a day if you can. DO
  10. 10. Talk about what you are an expert in or want to be an expert in. DO

  12. 12. Use video/photos with posts - they get seen more often. 12 DO
  13. 13. Google Yourself with private browsing or another machine. Evaluate it and fix it if necessary. 13 DO

  17. 17. Facebook is like a walled 17 But groups can be highly active and may be secret to you. You need to discover them and earn trust within them.
  18. 18. Twitter - easy to access people you might want to meet or know or follow (hint, hint – reporters), use for conversations in public, #hashtags help organize 18
  19. 19. LinkedIn - your professional life. Pulse and posts make it easier to blog. Lots of conversations and groups on food. 19
  20. 20. Pinterest – Share the good school lunches. Tons of talk about food without a lot of experts. 20

  24. 24. What DID we learn today 01 02 03 Your digital profiles are integral parts of your real life – they are available 24/7 and should represent you in the best possible way. Dos and Don’t are all around us. The platinum rule can govern almost any interaction. You will screw up – admit and move on. This digital legacy will live on forever. What do you want the internet to say about you after you are gone? 24
