2. My front cover was improved greatly as the task went on to ensure that my product was one of professional and
good quality. The first image is the rough layout I started with to make sure that the colour coding on my
magazine was good and also to make sure that other features would fit properly along with all the main
conventional features seen. As the stages have gone on you can see the use of photography and editing to make a
much more attractive front cover for potential consumers. I didn’t feel the background looked professional and
although it was important to keep a good colour scheme I also felt it was important to create a darker scenery to
portray a message about the band. I also had the ensure that I filled the page up but again in a professional
manner that would add quality. Adding other features and anchorage text to ensure interest in the magazine was
key to any success the product may have. The Anarchy name was made specifically for a continuous good use of
typography that is also seen features on my double page spread.
3. It was important that I followed the colour code set on my front cover as this is conventional but also to
keep the audience interested in the ideas already set on the front. I used a variety of images on my
contents that stick to the indie scene. It was again important on my contents page that I followed a rough
layout that would keep the page looking neat and tidy in the end. I then started to gradually add the
features and the images that I took in my photo shoot to match. Due to research, I found that it was
important that social networking and other included social technology was included to further interest
the young audience that I am aiming my magazine at. These were added at the near end of finishing my
product along with some edited features that make the magazine look more entertaining and less bland.
4. I felt that my double page spread allowed me a much bigger opportunity to be a bit more quirky and
present a story in ways that were not shown on my front cover and contents page. I started this off my
making my own background my hand by putting together newspaper headlines and articles. I wanted to
present the band as being one that was always in the papers and being talked about. I also wanted to
showing this with my photography, mise-en-scene and editing. I wanted the band to show seriousness
when doing my photo shoot and I felt the clothing worn was able to show the originality of the band and
a clear picture of the indie genre they fit in. The editing allowed me to play around with pictures in order
to fit both the background and the stereotyped thoughts about the band already. I didn’t want my
double page spread to be just a simple Q & A of the band but after looking at style models I thought that
a professional magazine was much more likely to link a story in with the interview that had been be
conducted.
