2. FRONT COVER
I tried to copy the layout of one of vibes magazine as you can see my artist is
pulling the same pose as the artist in vibe I chose this pose because it emphasizes
that this is a rap magazine because it makes the artist look like a mean character. I
also tried to go for a big chunky masthead this is so that my magazine would stand
out on a shelf .also I used vibes colour scheme I chose to use this colour scheme
because it is bold clear and stands out well. I tried to position my strap lines in the
same way that vibe does because there’s stand out really well so I tried to mimic
this with the font and colours. I tried to convey my artist as a rapper who is
confident and doesn’t care what people think of him and that he is out there to
make music.

My contents was a mix between Q magazine and another students magazine from a
couple of years ago the overall style and layout of the text is took from Q magazine I
used this because it is simple easy on the eye and effective just like my original pitch
said. However the style of the pictures and strap line was took from another students
work from a couple of years ago there work looked really effective especially the
placement of the pictures so I used that idea but tweaked it to my style of magazine
(rap) I also added a big strapline to the bottom picture I did this because it stands out
and draws people in this is a convention that I used I didn’t find another magazine
that this I think it paid off though.

4. DOUBLE PAGE
SPREAD
For my contents I tried to copy the
conventions of vibe I really like how
the double page spread is set out.
The big picture which is interesting to
look at and the pull quote which gives
you an insight and makes you want to
read ahead so that is what I went for
in terms of the article I tried to copy
the columns look but just make it look
a bit more colourful and interesting so
I added red to the sub headings. Also
my big bold title has been used in
vibe before but just not in the
example.
