2. This is the image that I used for
the front cover, which I designed
using Photoshop.

3. My magazine is beginning to look
like a rock music magazine, using
the layer style function; I modified
the words and the image by
adding different effects such as
inner shadows. Using the website
DaFont.com I created the
masthead for my magazine.

4. Using Photoshop and its tools I
was able to achieve the front
cover of my magazine. I followed
the conventions of Kerrang
magazine.

5. To create my contents page, I
had to use one small main image
and 2 other small images; I stared
of with this image. I used the
Photoshop tools to create a white
background and crop the image.

6. The A4 page is starting to look like
a contents page, I have divided
the bottom half of the page by
using the shape tool, to create a
column effect.

7. This is the final result of creating
my contents page, I have used
yellow to make the contents
page stand out, I used this idea
as Kerrang do something similar.

8. Designing my double page was a
bit difficult as I had too many ideas
I decided to do something simple. I
used this image of the models as it
was taken from a certain angle
and looked interesting.

9. I used the Photoshop tools to
create the page and also
DaFont.com for the headings of the
double page spread. Also I
decided to make a review box on
the right, to add to the double
page, to make it look appealing.

10. This is the finished draft of my
double page spread, using the
tools and the layer styles on
Photoshop I was able to design a
bright and appealing double page
spread. For the DPS I didn’t follow
the conventions of Kerrang
magazine, using other genre music
magazine I was able to create
something unconventional.

11. I decided to use my scout hut for
my photo shoot. Using a white cloth
as the background, it was easy to
edit the photos on Photoshop.

These are the images from the first photo shoot that I done using my friends as the models. I didn’t have much of
an idea of what I wanted. Using glitter I wanted to have colourful images, to create a girly rock magazine, in
doing so I failed, as the glitter wasn’t visible in the photos. Even though the images weren’t right for my main
image, I decided to use them as smaller image on in the magazine. The costumes weren’t right for the style of the
magazine. I re-did the photo shoot using my other friends.

13. Having a clear idea of what I wanted I did another photo shoot. Looking at Rock Sound Magazine and
Kerrang front cover, I got an idea. I used different emotions that stereotypically associated with rock,
such as aggression. This time I used horror make up in some of the photos, and props such as rope and a
guitar to create a rocky photo shoot. I think these photos came out really well.
