•My product is a football magazine called ‘Offside
Official’ with the slogan ‘Keeping You Ahead of
                        The Game.’

•I
will aim at the 16-25 age group and target both
genders (though mostly males) within North East
England. This gives me my USP.

      •My
magazine will be distributed locally and
include exclusive interviews as well as the latest
           news in the football world.
•TheNorthern Echo has many values as a long
running and successful newspaper that was
              founded in 1870.

•My idea is impartial as well as practical and
                  imaginative.
•The genre on my magazine is football.

•The leading sport magazines are: ‘Match!’, ‘Autosport’
                    and ‘World Soccer.’
•Gender: Both genders but predominantly males

                   •Age: 16 – 25

            •Socioeconomics: B, C1, C2

               •Tribe: Sports Junkies

•Educational status: Full / part time education
•Gender: Female

        •Age: Under 16’s and 25+

          •Socioeconomics: A, D

                 •Tribe: None

•Educational status: No longer in education
•Target Audience is a fairly broad age range.

•Many readers will be students who are unlikely to have
                a lot of disposable income.

              •Only one tribe (Sports Junkies)

•My target audience is predominantly males but I don’t
            want to eliminate female readers.

•People who are in different socio economic groups and
people who are still in education expect different
things and find different things appealing to those who
             are in full time employment.
•The articles included are suitable for every age group
                     within my target audience.

•The magazine will be distributed free of charge.

•I have tried to appeal to as many sports junkies as
possible by being neutral and impartial.

•I haven’t used colours / language that is directly
                   related to a specific gender.

•I have used a small amount of mild taboo language as
              well as more formal language.
Mock up 1
 Positive Negative

•Photography works well. •Font needs to be clearer.
•Strong layout. •Colour scheme is
                                         questionable.
•Professional colour scheme.

                      Mock up 2
Positive Negative

•Good photography. •Colour scheme is dazzling.
                                •Uninteresting layout.
                                 •Not enough content.
                                     •Only one article
•It
enabled me to find out background information
about my content.

•Iwas able to find out information about the
career of the people who I have written articles
about.

•Primary research helped me because I was able
to find out this information first hand.

•My genre research helped me because I found out
which were the best selling magazines and what
they included.
•Mild taboo and comical language
            •Reasonably limited vocabulary

           •Short sentences and paragraphs

•Fairly long article length whilst avoiding being
                      monotonous.
               •Descriptive article style

•Outdoor, active images of male footballers in
                     natural action
                    •3 even columns

•Active layout with slightly more text than images

                  •Type written font.
Once I have used professional
programmes to complete my magazine,
I think that it will be equally as
professional looking as the best selling
   magazines on the market today.

•Handed to people in each town or city within the
                     North East

               •In local news agents
•I would like to compete with the biggest selling
          football magazines on the market.

•I aim to make Offside Official a popular and well
known magazine in the local area.

                  •Profits for you and I!
•I
decided to include interviews to give my
magazine an element of exclusivity and to ensure
my magazine gives true and reliable information.

•Ihave included mini articles within main articles
to make my magazine individual and to make the
reader feel that there is plenty of content.
•Firstly, I conducted thorough genre research.

•I spotted a gap in the market and focussed on a
                         USP.

                       •I targeted an audience.

•I carried out a focus group
Yes, because I have met both my target
audience’s needs as well as The
Northern Echo’s by remaining impartial
as well as practical and imaginative
              throughout.
