The Church here at Deerfoot has made a
donation of $5000 to the
Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ to
help with the Disaster Relief Fund for
the Bahamas.
Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ is helping several churches in the Bahamas
including the Marsh Harbour Church of Christ, which was severely damaged dur-
ing the storm.
Video sent to CBS12 News shows all the destruction inside and outside of the
church, as well as water marks showing that the water rose to approximately eight
feet.
Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ is also helping other churches in South Abaco,
Freeport and Eight Mile Rock.
"Various congregations have sent (and are continuing to send) financial support
to Palm Beach Lakes to supply whatever those four congregations need," preacher
David Sproule said. "For the church in Marsh Harbour, we are not sending relief
supplies yet, as they are not able to be received and their safety is not guaranteed.
But, we are actually helping members of the Marsh Harbour church to have the
money to get off the island. Some have gone to Nassau and some have come to
Florida. We are trying to help them get back on their feet, as most of them left with
only the clothes they were wearing."
Last weekend, the church bought over $30,000 worth of generators, chainsaws,
cleaning supplies, medical supplies, tents, tarps, blankets, water, food, batteries,
toiletries, baby supplies and other items that were taken to Tropical Shipping
Monday morning, according to Sproule. Those items will be delivered to the
Church of Christ in Freeport, who will distribute the supplies to their members and
other congregations.

Thank You
Dear Church Family,
Thank you so much for the prayers, cards and
visits during my father’s illness and subsequent
death. My entire family was deeply touched by
all the kindness shown. We are very thankful to
be part of such a loving congregation. Please
continue to keep us in your prayers as we go
through this transition.
