Proofreading
This step will
take time to do
because this
needs to be
done slowly
with the most
care. This is
where the they
will go over the
magazine to
check for
mistakes this
might be
spelling errors,
Photoshop
issues or maybe
layout problems
on the page.

Deadlines I have set
deadlines for
when my
magazine should
be completely
finished and
distributed. If we
don’t get the
magazine done by
this time then it
show other
company's that
we are not well
planed and that
we should not be
one of the big
magazines of we
cant keep to are
deadlines.
The table here
shows the final
week of working
on the magazine.
3. Post-Production Skills
• In order to create my front cover I needed to be able to use Adobe
Photoshop this is because software as all the relevant tools that I
need to edit my photos and to create my front cover and double
page spread. An example of one of the key tools that I will need is the
magic wand tool, this is good because it allows me to select large
areas of my images and delete them this is mainly good for the back
ground of the images. Another tool that is good to use is the gradient
tool this allow me to blend two colours together this is good because
it means that when picking two colours to go in my background they
will work well together and it gives it a better affect than just instead
of putting two colours together with out the tool.
4. Safe working Practices
Software risk assessment
Resizing the image
When resizing the image of my chosen artist I need to make sure that when I am editing it it will
stay the same quality as when I took it. For example when changing the size of the image it can
become pixilated. This will not be good for the magazine because if the magazine does not have a
good image on the front no one will buy it. So in order to keep the image a good quality you need to
hold shift when resizing it this way it doesn't become pixilated.
Eyedropper tool
By using the eyedropper tool, it allows me to find a colour of an image or other colour on the
screen. This is good because it will allow me too keep the same colours all the way through my
magazine as when I click on a colour when using the tool it will give the all the details of the colour
so I will be able to find it again stead of having too look for the color over and over when I forget.
This is good because I will always have the same colours through out my magazine this will give it a
professional look.
5. Proof reading and sub editing
• I needed to make sure that all my text on my DPS makes scene and all
the words are spelt correctly. I do this by proof reading this is an
important step to do because it will mean that I will not have any silly
mistakes that would not be in any proper magazines. So by doing this
I make sure that my magazine will be on the same level.
• After proof reading I also did some sub-editing as this way I can refine
all the little Photoshop issues and to make sure that all my facts and
information linto my magazine and are not out of place.
6. House styles
Colour scheme
The colours on this magazine (Noise Gate) will be red, black and white. This will link with
the genre of the magazine is it is rock and indie based and this types of music will tend to
be dark and the white will make it more pleasing to the audience. Also the colours are
gender neutral and this will mean the the magazine will open up to all genders.
Font style
The font style of my cover lines will be Bradley Hand Bold this is because this style of
writing is curly and smart this will make it easy to read and people will find this writing
appealing to look at and want by the magazine.
Social media
Riff will be in synergy with media because then it will be able to become more well know
and then it should lead to more readers and consumers, as well as publicity.
9. Conclusion
• In LO4 I first looked at when I had to have my magazine done by this was
important to do as I needed to make sure that I didn’t fall behind on my
work and that the magazine work be released in time this way it makes the
magazine look like it is competing against some of the other top
magazines. After I went onto looking at the skills that I had learnt and the
tools that I used in Photoshop this was good because it showed me all the
new skills that I had learn and what some of the tool do and where I used
them. Also I had to make sure that in everything I did, myself and the
people around me where safe so I had to look into all the possible things
that could go wrong and how I would respond or prevent them from
happening. Next I went onto showing the colours and the font of what I put
in my magazine this was good because it allowed me to have another look
at what I put in and to make sure that all the ideas matched with what I put
in my magazine. …..
