1.
2. Summary of ideas
• My two magazines genres will both be rock and indie based. This
would be like Kerrang and Q as these both have a rock and indie
style to them. The dimensions of my magazine will be 8x11. The
colours of my magazine will be suited to the age rage which will be
from 20 to 30 these colours might include red, black, white and
blue as these are more popular colours in this age range and as the
genres rock and indie are more male based the colours will have to
adapted to this, as I will need it to attract the most amount of
viewers. The house styles will be simply structured to look like most
popular magazines at the moment as it will attract more people.
• The price of my magazines will be 3.75 as this is close to all other
magazines like Q and Kerrang this means that is will not be to
expensive for buyers.

Tune in as one
Yearly
I think that this will
keep things interesting
as people will never
know what they
magazine will produce
each year.
Magazine Name: Tune
Mind Map magazine 3
6. Two chosen magazines
I have have gone with magazines 1 and 2.
I have chosen these because I didn’t think that that my third one was
up to as good of a standard this is because I think that the name
“Tune” is too simple and common I don’t think that it will bring more
readers in. Also I put the target audience as 25-35 and I will find it
harder to do a magazine where the age range is not close to my own
age and the other two where similar in ages and started at lower age.
I also think that on my other two magazine, the colours will stand out
more and be more likely to attract wider group of people to come
and by my magazine.
Finally magazine 3 says that it will release an issue once every year and
I don’t think that this is a good idea as it will not make as big of a
profit and when publishing if it goes wrong the whole company would
fall apart.
9. Mood Board Conclusion
• The reason for creating a mood board is to give me inspiration for my
magazine. For example by looking at different magazines it will help me to
know what is popular when it comes to creating my own magazine.
• Also it allows my experiment with different colour ideas to see what I will
like. However I will have to look into the colours that I have to see if the
target age range that I have chosen will like these colours
• Finally the use of the musical instruments is to give me ideas about what I
will use for my masthead and also to give me ideas for names of my
magazines.
10. House styles
Colour scheme
The colours on this magazine (riff) will be navy, black and white this will mean
that the magazine will be dark. This will link with the genre of the magazine is
it is rock and indie based and this types of music will tend to be dark and the
white will make it more pleasing to the audience.
Font style
The font style of my cover lines will be Brush Script Std this is because this
style of writing is curly and rustic this will suit the rock theme that goes with
my magazine. Also when it is big it will draw readers as the writing is different
from most other fonts.
Social media
Riff will be in synergy with media because then it will be able to become
more well know and then it should lead to more readers and consumers, as
well as publicity.
11. House styles
Colour scheme
The colours on this magazine (Noise Gate) will be red, black and white. This
will link with the genre of the magazine is it is rock and indie based and this
types of music will tend to be dark and the white will make it more pleasing
to the audience. Also the colours are gender neutral and this will mean the
the magazine will open up to all genders.
Font style
The font style of my cover lines will be Bradley Hand Bold this is because this
style of writing is curly and smart this will make it easy to read and people will
find this writing appealing to look at and want by the magazine.
Social media
Riff will be in synergy with media because then it will be able to become
more well know and then it should lead to more readers and consumers, as
well as publicity.
12. Font Style
The reason I have chosen riff as one of my magazine titles is as it will relate to music. The
word riff is defined as a short repeated phrase in popular music. This will tend to be the beat
of the song that gets caught in your head. This will make the viewer want to buy my magazine
because it will remind them of a song that they liked that got stuck in their head.
I have chosen noise gate as my other title is because it will make the au audience wonder
what and where the name noise gate. The word noise is a machine when playing on any
type of guitar it will change the sound of the guitar.

13. Final font choice
I have chosen these as my final headers because I think that my target audience will be
mostly attracted to these. Also the both have the right style, as they suite the style of
music that I have chosen to base the magazine. Further more these names have been
inspired by different music terminology this is so viewers will know straight away what
the magazine is going to be about.
18. Hand Drawn Drafts Conclusion
• The reason that I have done the hand drawn drafts is so that I can look into further
detail in too what my magazines are going to look like these might not be the
finale ones but they will give me a stronger idea of what people will like and what
they will wan to buy. Both of my hand draw drafts are inspired by Q magazine and
Karrang this is because both these magazines are very popular and this means
that I should take some ideas that they have used to make sure that my magazine
will be up to the same standard as these high flying magazines.
Riff Noise Gate
23. Graphic Layout Conclusion
• The reason that I have made a graphic layout of my magazines is to make sure that
they will look presentable to viewers, because if they are not people will not want
to buy the issue. Furthermore it will give me a visual tick lick so when I am
designing the magazines I will know that I have include everything in the cove
page.
• Finally it allows me to get suggestions from people to see what they would like to
change on everyday magazines, and to make sure that I do not make the Same
error.

24. Production Process
• Date of Publication-
Setting up a date for publication is the is the first thing that is needed to do. All this is, is the date at which you will
publish your magazine to the public. Once this date has been decided every one can get stared with different jobs.
• Managing the Schedule-
This is an important step that need to be done properly. In order to produce your magazine successfully, you will have
to have a successful schedule. If this goes wrong know one will know when they have to have their jobs done by and
the date of publication will not be met.
• Editorial and budgetary decision
This step is where an editing team put together and discuss the stories that will be covered in the next issue of the
magazine. After this is decided how much money they will put into each story that they are casting.
• Content Acquisition
This is where the company will decide where each bit of content will go this may be font page back page. Also they will
chose weather or not to drop or to keep all the articles to go in the magazine
• Sub Editing
This will be where the back ground images and main images and style of writing will be chosen and read to be put into
the magazine.
• Page Layout
This is one of the finally stages and will bring together all the ideas and desertions that people have make to make it
look like the finally product.
• Proofreading
This is step in in place to make sure there are no spelling mistakes and that all the colours and writing make it easy to
read.
• File Emailed to the Printer
This email will go to the printer to be finally printed and so people will be able to go and buy these copies in stores
• Distribution
All the magazines will go off into different trucks and vans to go to the stores where thy can be brought and so the
company can make money for all the work that they have put into this magazine.
25. Conclusion
• From this presentation it has help me with finding out and designing lots
of thing for my magazine such as the colours of the magazine the layout
that the magazine will have and the production process of how large
magazine company's magazine their magazine. So over all I can look into
further depth of my magazine now that I have done all of these steps. I
will next look into what I will put into my magazine and all my design ideas
