The Effects of Personal Attachment Style on Romantic Relationship Satisfaction
Our earliest relationships in life can be deeply formative in shaping our development. Created by
John Bowlby, attachment theory relates the importance of attachment in regards to personal
development. According to Bowlby, attachment is the leading factor in our ability to form and
maintain relationships as adults (Levy 2012, pg. 157). As human beings, we need to feel as if we
belong (Cherry, 2016). We find this belongingness in our relationships and attachments. However,
we differ in our ability to form such relationships. Some people may find creating relationships with
people to be a fairly simple while others find relationships to be difficult or even anxiety producing.
Though we each feel a need to belong, we differ in this ability. Some people struggle in relationships
and other find anything relating to relationships to be simple. These differences in how we maintain
and create relationships may be due to our early life experiences. Research on attachment theory
suggests that our early–life relationships may be responsible, at least in part, for these differences in
adult relationships (Fraley, 2010). Data proves that these different attachment styles have different
effects on how an individual deals with relationships. Previous research has dialed in on different
attachment styles and their effect on how one views their self–worth. However, research has failed
to investigate relationship

Company Changes Over Time And It Is Easy For A Business Plan
A company changes over time and it is easy for a business plan to become out–of–date. In this case,
you must amend your business plan. You must make the necessary alterations so that the new plan
takes into account the new variables and addresses them to keep the business on track. Keep in
mind, that you cannot see the future, so building a perfect business plan at the beginning is
practically impossible. Don't get frustrated when some things do not go as planned. Instead, alter
your plan to take into account the changes. Daniel C. Finley, a former advisor and president of a
business development consulting and coaching service agrees that your business plan must evolve
over time, however he cautions you not to "over–adjust it." He writes, ... Show more content on

Goals allow you to gage the progress of your business. It prevents anyone from getting
overwhelmed. It shows them how much they have accomplished rather than how much there is left
to do. This leads to a more positive work environment and increased employee happiness.
An important aspect to the success of a business, that often goes unnoticed, is the happiness of its
employees. If an employee is miserable doing the work they are given, then the willingness of this
employee to go the extra mile for the sake of the company is extremely limited. The employees who
are miserable with what they do for a living are the ones who care solely about the paycheck at the
end of the week rather than the result of their work and its impact on the business. Employees
should be happy in the workplace. It should be filled with positive energy because when an
employee is positive and motivated, they tend to be more productive. Daniel Sgroi, in the Journal of
Labor Economics, writes:
In three different styles of experiment, randomly selected individuals are made happier either
through the use of a short (10 minute) comedy clip or through the provision of drinks and snacks.
We check that these methods make the subjects happier (they do) and then go on to show that these
individuals have approximately 12% greater productivity than a control group. (Finley, Daniel C)

Lack Of Explicit Team Norms
"There 's No I in TEAM." – Proverb
Have you ever heard the saying, 'A chain is only as strong as its weakest link '? This analogy also
applies to the performance of virtual teams. Team Johnny Bravo started out with good intentions,
but struggled to find balance working within a Leaderless, Modular design structure. A lack of
explicit team norms will impact communication and production efforts. This paper will discuss four
operating norms, concerns with a lack of norms, actions to overcome those concerns and norm
recommendations for Team Johnny Bravo.
Norms
"You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." –
Unknown
According to Mocha (2007), working anywhere and everywhere is a concept of globalization.
Although work is pushing around the world, remote team members need to exhibit a common and
acceptable set of behaviors referred to as norms.
In his research Settle–Murphy (2012), found that established norms within successful virtual teams,
dictated how the group functioned. It is important to note, norms and rules are not one in the same,
but they work together to form a team 's identity. an important function of a successful team. Often,
the earlier these norms can be established, the better. While rules play a part in establishing norms,
norms can also be unspoken where rules are not. Team Johnny Bravo established communication
and task norms. Below are four of those norms that operate within the team:

Sexism In The Workplace Essay
Women in the Workplace: A Literature Review
Introduction
Our society is constantly working to become one that is completely acceptable of all people, no
matter where they come from or who they are. However, as our society becomes more socially and
politically aware of the discrimination that can be unfairly bestowed upon people, are the
workplaces of America following suit in that level of awareness? Unfortunately, many studies prove
that the American workplace is not one that is equally accepting, especially when it comes to gender.
While we have truly come so far in the past century with the acceptance of women in the workplace,
it seems as if we haven't come far enough. There is still evidence of sexism in the workplace and a

231). While women have come a long way from the days that they were expected, and frankly only
allowed, to just take care of the home, sexism in the workplace is not something that should be
tolerated whatsoever. After years of advocating for women's rights in the workplace, why is this still
happening? A study done by Vala and Verniers (2018) found that the reason why sexist remarks are
made in the workplace could be due to that fact that naturally people think that if women are
spending their time at work, their families and home must consequently be suffering (p. 1).
Surprisingly, belief in these myths, and furthermore sexist remarks, are more like to come from the
"decision makers," (Song Hing & Starmarski, 2015, p. 1). Therefore, the initiative to completely
abolish the ill treatment of women in the workplace must start with those higher up in the companies
(Song Hing & Starmarski, 2015, p. 13). Song Hing and Starmarski (2015) concluded that "...if
organization structures, processes, and practices clearly communicate the importance of gender
equality then the discriminatory behavior of sexist organizational decision makers should be
constrained," (p.

Viable Curriculum Response
Is VCAL a viable curriculum response for non–academic learners?
Given the broadness of the question, I shall limit the discourse of this paper to reviewing VCAL as
an intervention measure for getting the non–academic students who are at risk of leaving to
complete their Year 12, and
an alternate pathway to increase their employability, via the acquisition of knowledge and skills for
the workplace – a key approach to achieving lifelong learning (Chapman, Gaff, Toomey, & Aspin,
2005).

The damage and trauma sustained by some students in the mainstream education may prove to be
too severe that by the time they get to VCAL, they are almost unreachable. The batters of failures
and rejections... and disengagements, year after year, result in low academic achievement, conflict
with teachers and poor attendance (VAGO, 2012). We can blame it on poor attitudes; but I think this
may well be just a self–preservation mechanism to protect themselves from further ridicule and
shame. In such severe cases, an early intervention program at the middle school may prove more
effective, as addressed in the Future Directions policy (DCPD,

little time on the powerplay, Sambrook scored nine times, all at even strength, and added 18 assists

while the numbers appear pedestrian, it's the small things that make Vala a draft–worthy prospect.

Race In Lord Of The Flies
The Lord of the Rings by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is a book widely known for its rich language,
detailed imagery, and profound story that expands over three volumes and six books. The book is
scattered with deep characters ranging in back stories and eventual character development. Motifs,
key parts throughout the story, include lightness and darkness, eyes, jewelry, and sword. JRR
Tolkien even creates his own language for the solemn race of elves in the lengthy three volume
novel. A part of this length may be attributed to the unusual placement of many full–form songs and
poems within the book, as a break between the usual story. These poems and songs have ranges of
playfulness and thoughtfulness. With uses of made up Hobbit words and beautiful ... Show more

Sheltered in the utopian–like Shire, they live a life of comfort, peace, and joy, with lots of heavy
eating, smoking, and drinking. The hobbits are almost childlike in their blissful ignorance to the
problems outside of their home. With a few exceptions within the Took family specifically, they
seem to value the comfortable status–quo over adventure and ambition. Their poems and songs
corroborate this value, largely made up of drinking songs and silly descriptions of clumsy monsters.
One drinking song, performed by Frodo, Pippin, and Sam, shows the ignorant optimism and
isolation that defines the entire race. The lines, "Rain may fall and wind may blow,/ And many miles
be still to go,/ But under a tall tree I will lie,/ And let the clouds go sailing by." (Tolkien 1, 101), are
parallel to the general Hobbit's attitude to the problems that lie outside the Shire, and eventually
within it at the end of the third volume. However, the lines also hint at the strong resilience and
optimism all four Hobbits display throughout the entire story. The characters constantly look back at
the Shire and reminisce about the peaceful lifestyle, safety and comfort that is so valued there.
Whenever the Ringwraiths pursue the four companions throughout the Shire, an optimistic
travelling, drinking, or even bath song is close by to remind the Hobbits of what they are fighting
for: the safety and preservation of their home and the people in it.

Digital Citizenship Within The Business Realm
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP WITHIN THE BUSINESS REALM Over a lifetime, things change, and
the world adapts to a new way of thinking. In the world of 2014, the world has been revolutionized
by the digital realm. All day long men and women of all ages are constantly interconnected through
the worldwide web. With that in mind, the digital world has become even more prevalent in today's
society as there is evidence nearly everywhere in sight. Look one way and see a man checking his
Facebook page keeping in touch with his old college friends. Look another way and see a 10 year
carrying a $500 4 inch iPhone texting his other friends and posting a status on twitter for his whole
class to see. Look yet another way, and find a jumbo–tron playing a video of a man committing a
crime just a mere ten minutes ago for millions of people to see to hopefully catch the man. The
whole world has taken on this culture of interconnectivity. With a new digital culture, comes a
changing of rights and responsibilities. According to Isman and Gungoren (2014), today's citizens
who want to be successful require "extensive skills, knowledge, Internet and technology access and
schools must guide the students to be a digital citizens." Every person on this planet now uses the
Internet and with each movement they make on the web, leaves a specific digital footprint. Every
single step you take anywhere digitally, can be seen down the line by anyone who wants to see. This

Persuasive Poetry Essay
A large portion of the poems come from the elven race. The poems of the ancient race create a sense
of longing and acceptance of fate, develop motifs of light, water, and stars, and show racial values of
history and the journey across the sea. A sweeping theme among elven poetry is the sense of longing
and acceptance of destiny. Whenever the fellowship is about to leave the elvish land Lothlorien,
Galadriel sings of her desire to cross the sea to return to the land of the Valar. Her song, both a
lament for her land of Lorien and a love song for the land across the sea, echoes a distinctive
conflict among elves between staying in the land of Middle–Earth where they have built lives, fallen
in love, and fought for good, and going on the last journey of their lives to their homeland across the
sea (Tolkien, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Tolkien also attempts to show that everyone and everything has its time, and once one
feels that he or she has completed his or her fate within this world, he or she can prepare themselves
to move on. Whenever Galadriel sends messages to the Fellowship once the Fellowship reach the
land of Rohan, Galadriel warns Legolas, a fellow elf, to "Beware of the Sea!/If thou hearest the cry
of the gull on the shore,/Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more" (Tolkien, Two Towers 112).
Legolas later acknowledges that his longing to cross the sea developed when he sings of the beauty
of the coast and the sea, and laments that the sea began to call to him as Galadriel predicted
(Tolkien, Return 156). The singing of the poem about the beauty of the sea indirectly draws the
reader's attention to Legolas' desires and his racial destiny to cross the sea, exemplifying the racial
theme of longing. Motifs are also prevalent as symbols for elven racial

Executives today operating in large corporations know just how tough it is to get away from

entrepreneur and political organizer Jeremy Heimans said, " Social media helps all institutions

A countless number of businesses are learning that through social networking they can resolve

example they chose a worker in the internal networking site display a demonstration operating a

The Hobbit, And The Lord Of The Rings
The interaction of fate and free will in the primary world is a very complex, intertwined
phenomenon. However, in Tolkien's works The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings,
there is a recognizable pattern that is set. More specifically this pattern regarding fate is established
cosmologically through his story of creation (the "Ainulindale"), and the precedent is set for how
individual choice affects the events that follow. This pattern will be used to establish how Tolkien
views the effect of determination on determinism throughout his other works. According the story of
the "Ainulindale", the Valar Melkor attempted to go against the harmony of the song of Illuvatar.1
To this end he left to Middle Earth upon its creation to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feanor chose freely to pursue the Silmarils, just as easily as he could have chosen to destroy the
Silmarils. This calls into question the cosmology in The Silmarillion, because Feanor essentially
went against the will of the gods on Middle Earth at the time, and forsook his happy life for greed
over a physical object. He was allowed to make this choice however, and not even the gods stepped
in the way to change his decision.6 Ultimately it was irrelevant, however, due to the oath he invoked
he was fated never to obtain the Silmarils, in fact they were eventually lost to everyone and caused
more death and chaos than the beauty they were intended to be.7 One such event that was spurred
on by the chase for the Silmarils was the murder of Thingol by the dwarves. This led to animosity
that was prevalent in The Hobbit, which was thousands of years later.8 The acquisition of the Ring
by Bilbo is another matter of ambiguity when it comes to fate and free will, however it was stated
explicitly that the Ring had agency and it's primary goal was to return to it's master.9 The fact that
the Ring exerted a type of free will in it's choices of bearers is an extraordinary feat, but ultimately it
serves the will of Sauron, so even

The Representation of the Female in William Blake
If William Blake was, as Northrop Frye described him in his prominent book
Fearful Symmetry, "a mystic enraptured with incommunicable visions, standing apart, a lonely and
isolated figure, out of touch with his own age and without influence on the following one" (3), time
has proved to be the visionary's most celebrated ally, making him one of the most frequently written
about poets of the English language. William Blake has become, in a sense, an institution.
"Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and
Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human Existence," wrote Blake in The
Marriage of Heaven and Hell. Perhaps his most famous line, ... Show more content on

In his essay "Blake: Sex, Society, and Ideology," David Aers follows Fox's thread that Blake's
attitude toward the Female shifts, but explains that "the case is far more complicated than a matter
of authorial incoherence or change of mind" (33). Aers offers a psychologically–based exploration
of Blake's treatment of the Female and the conventional views of women in the society of which he
was a part and concludes that Blake could not escape the popular male supremacist tradition. In
opposition to this approach, Mary Lynn Johnson, in her essay
"Feminist Approaches to Teaching" argues that "in a century when no one . . . fully escaped the
fourfold grip of father, priest, king, and God, Blake stands out as one of the few writers who
understood the pervasiveness of this patriarchal power alignment and resisted its influence" (58).
Another critic who discusses the shift in Blake's treatment of the Female is Brenda Webster, whose
article "Blake, Women, and Sexuality" considers Blake's shift in his treatment of the Female a result
of his "increasingly negative attitude toward sexuality"
(209). Webster explores Blake's fear of the "Female Will," and how it affects his images of women.
Dealing with the subject of the shift in the treatment of the Female, yet from a different angle, in his
article "William Blake's

The third advantage of Google Glass is the number of great apps it has. Some of the really helpful
apps are World Lens; Golf Sight; Lynx Fit, and Google Now. World Lens consists of major
languages in the world that enables the Glass to translate any language. [9] Google Glass is able to

tourists who are not familiar with a particular language in a new country. Since Google Glass is

trouble communicating with the locals there. I understand that our smart phone could do the same
thing. However, I have used some translation apps on my iphone and they are not the best in the
world.

Le Morte Darthur, Gandalf And Merlin
In a 1967 essay, J. R. R. Tolkien said he saw Gandalf as an angelic being, given the form of an old
man to limit his powers on earth. He would never say the same of Merlin. While Tolkien drew much
inspiration from Arthurian legend, especially Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte Darthur, Gandalf and
Merlin are very different characters. Merlin is a man, one whose role in much of Arthurian legend is
as a loyal servant of the Kings of Camelot, willing to do anything to help them. He also rarely
performs serious acts of magic. Gandalf, on the other hand, is a warrior mage, an immortal being
sent to protect the people of Middle Earth. He displays a powerful use of magic as well, and unlike

King Uther, whom Merlin serves, falls in love with Igraine, the wife of a neighboring duke, but the
duke refuses to allow Uther to have her, and Igraine is too loyal a woman to willingly commit

be like the duke her husband, Ulfias will be like Sir Brastias . . . and I will be like Sir Jordanus" (Le
Morte, 5). Merlin had disguised the men so well that they took on the appearance of other people,
enough that Igraine believed Uthor was her husband. Merlin's greatest feats usually involve
shapeshifting and disguise, as well as perhaps prophecy. After Merlin comes to Arthur in the guise
of a child, and then an old man, to tell him about his parentage, he says, "But I ever ought to be
heavy, for I shall die a shameful death, to be put in the earth quick, and ye shall die a worshipful
death" (Le Morte, 23). This foreshadows Merlin's death at the hands of his protégé Nineve, and
Arthur's death at the end of the book, and illustrates that Merlin has some knowledge of the events
in the future. He demonstrates this once again after subduing Sir Pellinore, when he tells Arthur,
"And he shall tell you the name of your own son begotten of your sister that shall be the destruction
of all this realm" (Le Morte, 29). Through his powers of foresight, Merlin can pinpoint what will
bring about the end of Camelot. Gandalf, although immortal and powerful, rarely shows these
powers of foresight. The future in Lord of the Rings is something that cannot be known, only fought

Victim Blaming Sociology
The phenomenon of victim blaming is a multifaceted topic with far–reaching consequences. The
tendency to blame innocent victims stems from a need to cope with threats to our concept of reality.
People generally prefer to consider the world to be 'just' – a concept that indicates that people get
what they deserve. This 'just world view' is very integral to the worldview of most people, so when
it is threatened, individuals employ defensive strategies to reestablish a sense of justice in the world
(Hafer, 2000). Blaming the victim in some capacity for misfortunes that befall them is a convenient
way to reestablish a just world–view. Such misattribution of blame institutes the possibility that
victims of crimes or disease will be mistreated and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is more likely that a person will engage in victim blaming when the victim in question is an in–
group member in some capacity. When a person whom is perceived as belonging to one's in–group
is victimized, one's perception of the just–world is more likely to be threatened (Correia & Vala,
2003). This is because observers wish to believe themselves as invincible to the same types of
misfortune as those who are victimized, and the more similarities between the observer and the
victim, the more the observer may question this perception of invincibility (Goldenberg & Forgas,
2012).
Mood Induction When an individual engages in victim blaming practices, they are attempting to
alleviate psychological discomfort. It is reasonable to suggest, then, that pre–existing states of mood
may influence the likelihood of blaming the victim. Mood as resource theory indicates that a
positive mood acts as a resource, which individuals may draw upon when presented with situations
that threaten their world–view (Raghunathan & Trope, 2002). Because of this, a person in a positive
mood is less likely to engage in victim blaming, while a person in a negative mood is more likely to
engage in victim blaming.

him and his men died, leaving Beren to wander the land alone, barring only the ring of Finrod
afterwards. Fighting, war and wandering with father and crew is all that Beren new, but with the lost
of his closest kin he was set adrift.
The Call of Adventure is the second step within the Hero Cycle and Beren's call is quite the
invitation. Wandering aimlessly into the forest Dungortheb, Beren falls entranced to the fairey like,
elven princess Luthien, daughter of an elven king and a maia, or demigod. WIth her beauty greatest
of all things, Beren was love struck and called for the dancing maiden, naming her Tinuviel as he
called for her. She turned to him and it was instant love, though a secret one. She, an immortal, and
him, mortal, meant their love could not last and be of error, as well as her royal father not being
pleased. This is the closest we get to the Refusal of the Call, being one of few divergences with the
Cycle and the story. This is due to the fact that Beren never hesitates to follow any ungodly task to
win Luthien's hand in marriage, and is quite literally stated that he felt no hesitation. The fact that
their love could not be, and keeping it secret, was the only hesitation displayed throughout the

Describing Blake's Mythology In The Four Zoas
According to the definitions provided by Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, the lexeme "myth"
is considered to be "a story from ancient times, especially one that was told to explain natural events
or to describe the early history of a people" or "something that many people believe but that does
not exist or is false."
In this way, the ancient mythologies were considered to be figments of the collective mind of people
who were trying to explain themselves the world mechanisms calling upon their imagination. Thus,
for them, mythology was the key in explaining the existence of the world they lived in.
Going further in time, the emergence of Christianity and the development of science have modified
people's old perception about the way in which the world functions as a complex system. As a
consequence, history advanced and mythology was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describing Blake's mythology, we can rely on the concept of multi–myths that represent the fact that
different views are put forward by individual speakers. This is obvious in The Four Zoas in which
the characters give contradictory perspectives of the death of Albion. The myth is retold, thus,
recreated and this act can reflect Blake's view of the myth–making process, being also an act that
ensures the transition of mythical stories from one generation to generation.
Such beliefs are mirrored in Milton and in The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: "I was in a Printing
House in Hell & saw the method in which / knowledge is transmitted from generation to
generation."(MHH 15:40)
According to Richard M. Dorson, the act of retelling stories is a relatively modern view of
mythography: "that myths contain folktale elements and reflect the styles of individual storytellers is
a large step forward in comparative mythological study". (Dorson, 1973:

"Video communications give employees a way to interact with clients and colleagues from
anywhere using the mobile devices of businesses that utilize video communication."(Nicholas,
2016) According to Artero (2010), "The future of the television industry involves not only
traditional transmission via the airwaves, cable or even mobile telephone but also through the new
channel open for video in recent years." Computer Technology is developing at rapidly. As a result,
online videos are becoming a modern way for customers to communicate. Today customers are very
keen to get the information but they want to get quickly, they do not want to spend much time for
searching on the web page. It is also difficult for customers to read the whole page until the end or
click through other relevant pages for information. On the other hand, once they start watching a
video clip, customer are likely to view it to the end than they are to read a whole page, which gives a
better possibility to engage them and thereby gets the message across, describes in PC
World(Poor,2009). The study, released in Mashable, Meg (2013) reports that one in three million

Security Requirements For Mobile Operating Systems
4.3 Security Requirements for Mobile Operating Systems.
It is necessary to establish what type of security requirements need an Operating System on the
modern mobile phones, considering the risk existing for the final users. According to different
specialists (Ahmad et al. 2013), the minimum requirements could be:
4.3.1 Application Sandboxing. It is a part of the memory used to control and limit the access to the
file systems from applications and external code. It is used as preventative measure, which works by
checking the permissions assigned to each application when it was created to determine the source
of every application.(Ahmad et al. 2013).
A sandbox is a part of memory completely isolated from the rest of the system, especially from
sensitive files like Kernel files. It is accessible only from applications that requested access after
being installed and executed for the first time. A sandbox can be permanent when the resource
change continues after the applications finish execution, or temporary when the changes are
discarded after finish the sandbox use. (Schreuders, McGill, and Payne. 2013)
When an "application A" need to work with another "application B" which already have a sandbox
environment created (therefore without access to other system resources), "application B" will
exchange its resources located in the sandbox area with "application A" without interaction with
other resources. (Schreuders, McGill, and Payne. 2013)

Assessment Of Bod, Cod As Organic Pollution Indicator...
ASSESSMENT OF BOD, COD AS ORGANIC POLLUTION INDICATOR LEVELS OF
VARHALA LAKE ABSTRACT Lakes are of great importance both from the natural and economic
point of view. Lake water is a source of drinking and domestic water supply for people living in and
around the area. The present study was conducted to assess the organic pollution indicators like
BOD, COD and DO. The sampling of water was based on human and aquatic activities around the
lake. Water from five sampling stations of Varhala Lake was monitored for seasonal variations from
May 2011 to April 2012. The BOD was positively correlated with COD of 0.609, as both are the
products of oxidation. The correlation between DO and BOD, gave a negative relationship of 0.517
between two variables. Keywords: Water quality monitoring; pollution indicators; Varhala Lake
INTRODUCTION Most of our water resources are gradually becoming polluted due to the addition
of foreign materials from the surroundings. Rapid urbanization and industrialization has put a lot of
pressure on the existing water bodies (Waziri et al., 2009; Sawant and Telave, 2009). Anthropogenic
development and changes around lakes affects their ecosystems (Mouri, G et al 2011). Lakes have a
complex and fragile ecosystem, as they do not have a self–cleaning ability and therefore readily
accumulate pollutants (Abida et al 2008; J.C Akan et al 2012). Continuous water quality monitoring
is essential for efficient management of lakes and for control of pollution. It is

Relationship Satisfaction Is An Important Part Of Romantic...
Relationship satisfaction is an important part of romantic relationships. A lack of satisfaction can
lead to consequences in other areas of life and eventually, the destruction of the relationship. For
example, job performance is heavily influenced by romantic relationship satisfaction. In a study by
Greenhaus and Beutell (1985), they argued that poor satisfaction leads to poor job performance and
vice versa. They stated this was to because these two spheres are "interdependent." Satisfaction can
also influence quality of health. Conflict in a marital relationship is associated with higher heart
rates and blood pressure (Broadwell & Light, 1999; Ewart, Taylor, Kaemer & Agras, 1991; Flor,
Breitenstein, Birbaumer & Furst 1995; Frankish & Linden, 1996; Kiecolt–Glaser, 1993; Mayne,
O'Leary, McCrady, Contrada & Labouvie, 1997; Morell & Apple, 1990; Shwartz, Slater & Birchler,
1994; Thomsen & Gilbert, 1998). It is also strongly associated with depression and depressed
syndromes (Beach, Fincham & Katz, 1998; Fincham & Beach, 1999). This relationship between
marital conflict and depression seems to be bidirectional meaning depression is not only a result of
conflict but also is caused by the conflict (Beach, et. al., 1998; Fincham & Beach, 1999). Because a
lack of relationship satisfaction can negatively affect so many important areas of life, it is important
to understand what influences the level of satisfaction held in romantic relationships. One factor that

William Blake Poet
William Blake is one of the most renowned poets in the history of English literature. Born to the
owners of a hosiery shop on Broad Street in the center of London in 1757, William Blake developed
into a toddler of extraordinary imagination. While only a young boy (around the age of four), he
spoke to his parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and hell
throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a close eye on him during
tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake began to stencil out the visions from his
imagination, and as an eleven year old, he enlisted in Pars' Drawing School to learn the art of
printing and plaster casting. Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James
Basire, and as a fourteen–year–old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster Abbey,
which led to a lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration. While working with
Basire, Blake befriended contemporary apprentice James Parker. Parker and Blake would later
become partners in a jointly owned print shop on Broad Street, right next door to the Blake hosiery
shop and household, a partnership that only lasted one year (1784–85). One must recall the
historical context of Blake's development from a young artist to a poet in his mid–twenties. In 1775,
America began a revolution of independence from England, igniting tense controversy in London,
and the young artist witnessed an angry

William Blake 's ' Urizen, And Jerusalem : The Emanation...
William Blake's writing promotes the concept of the human being accessing what Blake sees as the
very purpose of life, the poetic genius. Blake, in his writings, All Religions Are One, The Book of
Urizen, and Jerusalem: The Emanation of the Great Albion explores both actions of accessing and
separating from the poetic genius. Blake contrasts the concept of poetic genius with divisions, such
as time and space, created from the human beings separating from it, effectively, keeping them from
eternity. Therefore, Blake's writings value the human being's ability to access the poetic genius to
the highest importance believing it will allow humans to move towards eternity.
Blake first outlines his concept of the poetic genius in his writing, All Religions Are One
demonstrating his belief "That the Poetic Genius is the true man" [Principal 1st:1–2] reflecting the
idea the poetic genius needs to be utilized to fully realize the goal of the becoming a fully divine
human being. Furthermore, Blake interprets "that the body or outward form of Man is derived from
the Poetic Genius" [Principal 1st: 2–5] reflecting the concept of the body being at one with the soul;
the soul being the poetic genius. Therefore, the body wouldn't exist without the accessing of the
poetic genius' imagination conveying a sense of unity between the body and soul. Moreover, Blake
conveys a division between the two would cause a deviation from the truth reflect through the
limitations of the five senses. Blake

Tolkien's The Silmarillion is rife with battles between good and evil, these diametric ideals are what
make this fantasy mockup of the bible a compelling and interesting book. The relationships between

Aule, one of the Valar, opposes Iluvatar by attempting to create life, same as Melkor. Unlike Melkor,
Aule is humble and begs forgiveness, willing to destroy his creation to regain to good graces of
Iluvatar. As described in Ainulindalë Aule's are an imitation of Ilúvatar's, Tolkien makes it clear that
only Ilúvatar can create true life, perhaps best described here as beings with souls. (Fry, 2015) The
Dwarves exist only as projections of their maker until Ilúvatar gives them independent thought, in
this action he both forgives Aule for his defiance and adopts the dwarves as his own. Ilúvatar's
accepting and tolerating the making of the Dwarves closes the short–term binary opposition of the
two creators, so both Aule and his creations are once again, a singular structure which stands with
what is considered good. Iluvatar, however, does not allow the dwarves to interfere with his vision
for whom the first born should be so the Dwarves are put to sleep under mountains until after the
Elves awaken. The start of the third book, the Quenta Silmarillion, begins with a strife between
Tulkas and Melkor. Tulkas is described as a wrathful, angry being in the same sentence he is
mentioned laughing. Both his laughter and wrath caused Melkor to flee, taking clouds and darkness
with him. As easy as it is to imagine a

Characterism And Symbolism In The Story Of Ahalya
Ahalya is not a character but a symbol. When a symbol is analyzed then it becomes a character. A
character unfolds to reveal its hidden reality. One of the best examples of this is the story of Ahalya.
In the story of Ahalya, every character represents a symbol. Ahalya is the symbol of beauty. Indra is
the symbol of indulgence. Gautama is the symbol of ego and Rama is the symbol of renunciation
and spirit. ` Beauty is not only visual but also a realization. It could be superficial but also has a
finer and deeper meaning. When the essence of beauty is not realized, both beauty and its
observation are incomplete. Beauty creates as well as destroys delusion. Indra created delusion in
Ahalya while Rama destroyed it. In the rise and fall of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But stigma remained. The mere touch of Indra led Ahalya's downfall and her emancipation was
instantly realized by the touch of Rama. Was it so easy and simple? Ahalya, the daughter of Brahma,
grew up with the sound of Om and was not an ordinary woman. She was well versed in the Vedas
thanks to her father. As the wife of Gautama, she was a respected Vedic woman due to his high
status. However, with the touch of lustful Indra, she slid on the path of sin. As it is not easy for a
woman like Ahalya to commit sin, it is essential to analyze the downfall and also the transcendence
of Ahalya from psychological and sociological perspectives. Many complicated, psychological,
sociological and economic reasons drive a person towards committing a sin. Hence Ahalya's carnal
desire cannot be the cause of her downfall. Many years of penance is needed for salvation.
Likewise, to commit a sin, long–lasting deprivation, pain, psychological trauma, revolt, depression
and the resulting conflict play major roles. Committing a sin needs no less diligence than obtaining
salvation. So, why is there contempt for sin? Many Vedic scholars have analyzed the symbolism of
Ahalya, Indra, and Gautama. Sometimes Ahalya is assumed to be the dawn and Indra is the cloud.
By smearing the dark cloud on the forehead of dawn, Indra has become the illicit lover of Ahalya.
But many scholars have depicted Ahalya as the virgin soil which is yet to be toiled. By bestowing

large group of paintings known as "Large Colour Prints". In Pity, a woman lying on the ground
appears to be deceased, while two figures riding horses fly above her with a young baby in hand.
This painting was completed in 1795, but the painting relates more to the characteristics of
renaissance style drawing. Sense the woman figure lying down does not appear in Macbeth's simile
on Pity, the woman figure lying down creates difficulties for commentators who draw conclusions
on Shakespeare's text in their interpretations of Blake's painting. By exploring the influences of
Blake's own visual and verbal imagination of which he acquires from ... Show more content on

The women figure lying on the ground looks as if she is dead. She lies there gazing up into nowhere
with a solid glare. Instead of the angel figure giving life to the figure lying down; it seems as if the
angel figure is taking the life of a baby from her, as she is now dead and the angels are taking care of
the baby. The angel figure from the horse reaches her arms out to grasp the baby. All of the figures
have the same hair color, blonde with slight curls. Along with the curls we notice that the front angel
figure's hair is being blown straight up; this will later be explained.
There are four figures and two horses in this painting. Each of the horses are centered and facing
horizontally with very few vertical lines. The majority of the painting is smooth flowing without
jagged, sharp or straight lines. In Pity there is darkness surrounding the characters, forcing the
figures to stand out with great measure in the light. The colors in the background do not convey
meaning to the picture. The background is dark and solemn, resembling blank space. The figures in
Pity seem to carry the meaning, as opposed to the background. Because there is darkness
surrounding the figures, there does not seem to be a source of the light, yet light does outline each
figure. It seems that Blake did this to focus on the figures and not the background. In this painting
the horses are painted grey. Grey is more of a monotone color resembling peace. The figure riding

An Essay On What Makes A Coach Great By John Wooden
What Makes a Coach Great
"A good coach can change a game. A great coach can change a life." These words by John Wooden
really emphasize what I feel would make a great coach. A coaches job might be to win games, but
more importantly they have an opportunity to change the lives of their players. If the coaches only
help with success on the court, and not in life, they will not make a great role model. Coaches have a
responsibility to develop their players into well rounded individuals. They can do this in a variety of
ways. Great coaches not only have to know the sport they are teaching, they must be trustworthy,
promote teamwork, and teach players life long lessons.
A great coach is going to have knowledge about the sport that they are coaching. Most coaches have
developed a passion for the sport they coach because they played the game themselves. They have
immersed themselves in the game by not just playing the game, but also by watching the game,
reading about the game, following various players over time, etc. This passion becomes the fuel to
teach others in hopes that someday they too develop a love for the game, and possibly even one day
share their own passion with others. The coach needs to know how to not only play the sport ,but
also make game plans for the team they are coaching. They must know their players strengths and
weaknesses in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows them to see what other interests they have in common, and can also show them their
differences in a positive way. All of these are team building exercises to make a team become one.
Promoting teamwork will help teammates push each other to do their very best they can do in the
sport and possibly even in life. When teamwork is created, the positive outcomes can be beneficial
to the team and the coach. These outcomes can be winning the game, improving one's weaknesses,
and their confidence in their

The Effects Of Personal Attachment Style On Romantic...

  • 1. The Effects Of Personal Attachment Style On Romantic... The Effects of Personal Attachment Style on Romantic Relationship Satisfaction Our earliest relationships in life can be deeply formative in shaping our development. Created by John Bowlby, attachment theory relates the importance of attachment in regards to personal development. According to Bowlby, attachment is the leading factor in our ability to form and maintain relationships as adults (Levy 2012, pg. 157). As human beings, we need to feel as if we belong (Cherry, 2016). We find this belongingness in our relationships and attachments. However, we differ in our ability to form such relationships. Some people may find creating relationships with people to be a fairly simple while others find relationships to be difficult or even anxiety producing. Though we each feel a need to belong, we differ in this ability. Some people struggle in relationships and other find anything relating to relationships to be simple. These differences in how we maintain and create relationships may be due to our early life experiences. Research on attachment theory suggests that our early–life relationships may be responsible, at least in part, for these differences in adult relationships (Fraley, 2010). Data proves that these different attachment styles have different effects on how an individual deals with relationships. Previous research has dialed in on different attachment styles and their effect on how one views their self–worth. However, research has failed to investigate relationship ... In this case, you must amend your business plan. You must make the necessary alterations so that the new plan takes into account the new variables and addresses them to keep the business on track. Keep in mind, that you cannot see the future, so building a perfect business plan at the beginning is practically impossible. Don't get frustrated when some things do not go as planned. Instead, alter your plan to take into account the changes. Daniel C. Finley, a former advisor and president of a business development consulting and coaching service agrees that your business plan must evolve over time, however he cautions you not to "over–adjust it." He writes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Goals allow you to gage the progress of your business. It prevents anyone from getting overwhelmed. It shows them how much they have accomplished rather than how much there is left to do. This leads to a more positive work environment and increased employee happiness. An important aspect to the success of a business, that often goes unnoticed, is the happiness of its employees. If an employee is miserable doing the work they are given, then the willingness of this employee to go the extra mile for the sake of the company is extremely limited. The employees who are miserable with what they do for a living are the ones who care solely about the paycheck at the end of the week rather than the result of their work and its impact on the business. Employees should be happy in the workplace. It should be filled with positive energy because when an employee is positive and motivated, they tend to be more productive. Daniel Sgroi, in the Journal of Labor Economics, writes: In three different styles of experiment, randomly selected individuals are made happier either through the use of a short (10 minute) comedy clip or through the provision of drinks and snacks. We check that these methods make the subjects happier (they do) and then go on to show that these individuals have approximately 12% greater productivity than a control group. (Finley, Daniel C) ... This analogy also applies to the performance of virtual teams. Team Johnny Bravo started out with good intentions, but struggled to find balance working within a Leaderless, Modular design structure. A lack of explicit team norms will impact communication and production efforts. This paper will discuss four operating norms, concerns with a lack of norms, actions to overcome those concerns and norm recommendations for Team Johnny Bravo. Norms "You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." – Unknown According to Mocha (2007), working anywhere and everywhere is a concept of globalization. Although work is pushing around the world, remote team members need to exhibit a common and acceptable set of behaviors referred to as norms. In his research Settle–Murphy (2012), found that established norms within successful virtual teams, dictated how the group functioned. It is important to note, norms and rules are not one in the same, but they work together to form a team 's identity. an important function of a successful team. Sexism In The Workplace Essay Women in the Workplace: A Literature Review Introduction Our society is constantly working to become one that is completely acceptable of all people, no matter where they come from or who they are. However, as our society becomes more socially and politically aware of the discrimination that can be unfairly bestowed upon people, are the workplaces of America following suit in that level of awareness? Unfortunately, many studies prove that the American workplace is not one that is equally accepting, especially when it comes to gender. While we have truly come so far in the past century with the acceptance of women in the workplace, it seems as if we haven't come far enough. There is still evidence of sexism in the workplace and a gender wage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 231). While women have come a long way from the days that they were expected, and frankly only allowed, to just take care of the home, sexism in the workplace is not something that should be tolerated whatsoever. After years of advocating for women's rights in the workplace, why is this still happening? A study done by Vala and Verniers (2018) found that the reason why sexist remarks are made in the workplace could be due to that fact that naturally people think that if women are spending their time at work, their families and home must consequently be suffering (p. 1). Surprisingly, belief in these myths, and furthermore sexist remarks, are more like to come from the "decision makers," (Song Hing & Starmarski, 2015, p. 1). Therefore, the initiative to completely abolish the ill treatment of women in the workplace must start with those higher up in the companies (Song Hing & Starmarski, 2015, p. 13). Song Hing and Starmarski (2015) concluded that "...if organization structures, processes, and practices clearly communicate the importance of gender equality then the discriminatory behavior of sexist organizational decision makers should be constrained," (p. ... Race In Lord Of The Flies The Lord of the Rings by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is a book widely known for its rich language, detailed imagery, and profound story that expands over three volumes and six books. The book is scattered with deep characters ranging in back stories and eventual character development. Motifs, key parts throughout the story, include lightness and darkness, eyes, jewelry, and sword. JRR Tolkien even creates his own language for the solemn race of elves in the lengthy three volume novel. A part of this length may be attributed to the unusual placement of many full–form songs and poems within the book, as a break between the usual story. These poems and songs have ranges of playfulness and thoughtfulness. With uses of made up Hobbit words and beautiful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sheltered in the utopian–like Shire, they live a life of comfort, peace, and joy, with lots of heavy eating, smoking, and drinking. The hobbits are almost childlike in their blissful ignorance to the problems outside of their home. With a few exceptions within the Took family specifically, they seem to value the comfortable status–quo over adventure and ambition. Their poems and songs corroborate this value, largely made up of drinking songs and silly descriptions of clumsy monsters. One drinking song, performed by Frodo, Pippin, and Sam, shows the ignorant optimism and isolation that defines the entire race. The lines, "Rain may fall and wind may blow,/ And many miles be still to go,/ But under a tall tree I will lie,/ And let the clouds go sailing by." (Tolkien 1, 101), are parallel to the general Hobbit's attitude to the problems that lie outside the Shire, and eventually within it at the end of the third volume. However, the lines also hint at the strong resilience and optimism all four Hobbits display throughout the entire story. The characters constantly look back at the Shire and reminisce about the peaceful lifestyle, safety and comfort that is so valued there. Whenever the Ringwraiths pursue the four companions throughout the Shire, an optimistic travelling, drinking, or even bath song is close by to remind the Hobbits of what they are fighting for: the safety and preservation of their home and the people in it. ... • 29. Digital Citizenship Within The Business Realm DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP WITHIN THE BUSINESS REALM Over a lifetime, things change, and the world adapts to a new way of thinking. In the world of 2014, the world has been revolutionized by the digital realm. All day long men and women of all ages are constantly interconnected through the worldwide web. With that in mind, the digital world has become even more prevalent in today's society as there is evidence nearly everywhere in sight. Look one way and see a man checking his Facebook page keeping in touch with his old college friends. Look another way and see a 10 year carrying a $500 4 inch iPhone texting his other friends and posting a status on twitter for his whole class to see. Look yet another way, and find a jumbo–tron playing a video of a man committing a crime just a mere ten minutes ago for millions of people to see to hopefully catch the man. The whole world has taken on this culture of interconnectivity. With a new digital culture, comes a changing of rights and responsibilities. According to Isman and Gungoren (2014), today's citizens who want to be successful require "extensive skills, knowledge, Internet and technology access and schools must guide the students to be a digital citizens." Every person on this planet now uses the Internet and with each movement they make on the web, leaves a specific digital footprint. Every single step you take anywhere digitally, can be seen down the line by anyone who wants to see. This is where the idea of digital ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The poems of the ancient race create a sense of longing and acceptance of fate, develop motifs of light, water, and stars, and show racial values of history and the journey across the sea. A sweeping theme among elven poetry is the sense of longing and acceptance of destiny. Whenever the fellowship is about to leave the elvish land Lothlorien, Galadriel sings of her desire to cross the sea to return to the land of the Valar. Her song, both a lament for her land of Lorien and a love song for the land across the sea, echoes a distinctive conflict among elves between staying in the land of Middle–Earth where they have built lives, fallen in love, and fought for good, and going on the last journey of their lives to their homeland across the sea (Tolkien, ... However, Tolkien also attempts to show that everyone and everything has its time, and once one feels that he or she has completed his or her fate within this world, he or she can prepare themselves to move on. Whenever Galadriel sends messages to the Fellowship once the Fellowship reach the land of Rohan, Galadriel warns Legolas, a fellow elf, to "Beware of the Sea!/If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore,/Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more" (Tolkien, Two Towers 112). Legolas later acknowledges that his longing to cross the sea developed when he sings of the beauty of the coast and the sea, and laments that the sea began to call to him as Galadriel predicted (Tolkien, Return 156). The singing of the poem about the beauty of the sea indirectly draws the reader's attention to Legolas' desires and his racial destiny to cross the sea, exemplifying the racial theme of longing. However, in Tolkien's works The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, there is a recognizable pattern that is set. More specifically this pattern regarding fate is established cosmologically through his story of creation (the "Ainulindale"), and the precedent is set for how individual choice affects the events that follow. This pattern will be used to establish how Tolkien views the effect of determination on determinism throughout his other works. According the story of the "Ainulindale", the Valar Melkor attempted to go against the harmony of the song of Illuvatar.1 To this end he left to Middle Earth upon its creation to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Feanor chose freely to pursue the Silmarils, just as easily as he could have chosen to destroy the Silmarils. This calls into question the cosmology in The Silmarillion, because Feanor essentially went against the will of the gods on Middle Earth at the time, and forsook his happy life for greed over a physical object. He was allowed to make this choice however, and not even the gods stepped in the way to change his decision.6 Ultimately it was irrelevant, however, due to the oath he invoked he was fated never to obtain the Silmarils, in fact they were eventually lost to everyone and caused more death and chaos than the beauty they were intended to be.7 One such event that was spurred on by the chase for the Silmarils was the murder of Thingol by the dwarves. This led to animosity that was prevalent in The Hobbit, which was thousands of years later.8 The acquisition of the Ring by Bilbo is another matter of ambiguity when it comes to fate and free will, however it was stated explicitly that the Ring had agency and it's primary goal was to return to it's master.9 The fact that the Ring exerted a type of free will in it's choices of bearers is an extraordinary feat, but ultimately it serves the will of Sauron, so even ... The Representation of the Female in William Blake If William Blake was, as Northrop Frye described him in his prominent book Fearful Symmetry, "a mystic enraptured with incommunicable visions, standing apart, a lonely and isolated figure, out of touch with his own age and without influence on the following one" (3), time has proved to be the visionary's most celebrated ally, making him one of the most frequently written about poets of the English language. William Blake has become, in a sense, an institution. "Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human Existence," wrote Blake in The Marriage of Heaven and Hell. Perhaps his most famous line, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his essay "Blake: Sex, Society, and Ideology," David Aers follows Fox's thread that Blake's attitude toward the Female shifts, but explains that "the case is far more complicated than a matter of authorial incoherence or change of mind" (33). Aers offers a psychologically–based exploration of Blake's treatment of the Female and the conventional views of women in the society of which he was a part and concludes that Blake could not escape the popular male supremacist tradition. In opposition to this approach, Mary Lynn Johnson, in her essay "Feminist Approaches to Teaching" argues that "in a century when no one . . . fully escaped the fourfold grip of father, priest, king, and God, Blake stands out as one of the few writers who understood the pervasiveness of this patriarchal power alignment and resisted its influence" (58). Another critic who discusses the shift in Blake's treatment of the Female is Brenda Webster, whose article "Blake, Women, and Sexuality" considers Blake's shift in his treatment of the Female a result of his "increasingly negative attitude toward sexuality" (209). Webster explores Blake's fear of the "Female Will," and how it affects his images of women. He would never say the same of Merlin. While Tolkien drew much inspiration from Arthurian legend, especially Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte Darthur, Gandalf and Merlin are very different characters. Merlin is a man, one whose role in much of Arthurian legend is as a loyal servant of the Kings of Camelot, willing to do anything to help them. He also rarely performs serious acts of magic. King Uther, whom Merlin serves, falls in love with Igraine, the wife of a neighboring duke, but the duke refuses to allow Uther to have her, and Igraine is too loyal a woman to willingly commit adultery. So, Merlin devises a plan, telling Uther, "this night ye shall lie with Igraine . . . and ye shall be like the duke her husband, Ulfias will be like Sir Brastias . . . and I will be like Sir Jordanus" (Le Morte, 5). Merlin had disguised the men so well that they took on the appearance of other people, enough that Igraine believed Uthor was her husband. Merlin's greatest feats usually involve shapeshifting and disguise, as well as perhaps prophecy. After Merlin comes to Arthur in the guise of a child, and then an old man, to tell him about his parentage, he says, "But I ever ought to be heavy, for I shall die a shameful death, to be put in the earth quick, and ye shall die a worshipful death" (Le Morte, 23). This foreshadows Merlin's death at the hands of his protégé Nineve, and Arthur's death at the end of the book, and illustrates that Merlin has some knowledge of the events in the future. He demonstrates this once again after subduing Sir Pellinore, when he tells Arthur, "And he shall tell you the name of your own son begotten of your sister that shall be the destruction of all this realm" (Le Morte, 29). • 57. Victim Blaming Sociology The phenomenon of victim blaming is a multifaceted topic with far–reaching consequences. The tendency to blame innocent victims stems from a need to cope with threats to our concept of reality. People generally prefer to consider the world to be 'just' – a concept that indicates that people get what they deserve. This 'just world view' is very integral to the worldview of most people, so when it is threatened, individuals employ defensive strategies to reestablish a sense of justice in the world (Hafer, 2000). Blaming the victim in some capacity for misfortunes that befall them is a convenient way to reestablish a just world–view. Such misattribution of blame institutes the possibility that victims of crimes or disease will be mistreated and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is more likely that a person will engage in victim blaming when the victim in question is an in– group member in some capacity. When a person whom is perceived as belonging to one's in–group is victimized, one's perception of the just–world is more likely to be threatened (Correia & Vala, 2003). This is because observers wish to believe themselves as invincible to the same types of misfortune as those who are victimized, and the more similarities between the observer and the victim, the more the observer may question this perception of invincibility (Goldenberg & Forgas, 2012). Mood Induction When an individual engages in victim blaming practices, they are attempting to alleviate psychological discomfort. It is reasonable to suggest, then, that pre–existing states of mood may influence the likelihood of blaming the victim. Mood as resource theory indicates that a positive mood acts as a resource, which individuals may draw upon when presented with situations that threaten their world–view (Raghunathan & Trope, 2002). Because of this, a person in a positive mood is less likely to engage in victim blaming, while a person in a negative mood is more likely to engage in victim blaming. Specific Aims/Research ... Attachment Style and Relationship Satisfaction: The Priming of Attachment Style and the Effects on Romantic Relationship Satisfaction Milynn C. Scheer Point Loma Nazarene University Introduction Our earliest relationships in life can be deeply formative in shaping our development. Previous research has dialed in on different ... It is a literary concept that illustrates the same pattern that almost all heros, from Beowulf to Harry Potter, follow. This cycle also connects genres, no matter how different, together in its most basic form. Sci–Fi, Fantasy, Mystery, etc. However, the genre most associated to the Hero Cycle is fantasy, partly due to the Hero Cycles' origins coming from fairy tale and old myths/epics of ancient days. Fighting, war and wandering with father and crew is all that Beren new, but with the lost of his closest kin he was set adrift. The Call of Adventure is the second step within the Hero Cycle and Beren's call is quite the invitation. Wandering aimlessly into the forest Dungortheb, Beren falls entranced to the fairey like, elven princess Luthien, daughter of an elven king and a maia, or demigod. Describing Blake's Mythology In The Four Zoas According to the definitions provided by Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, the lexeme "myth" is considered to be "a story from ancient times, especially one that was told to explain natural events or to describe the early history of a people" or "something that many people believe but that does not exist or is false." In this way, the ancient mythologies were considered to be figments of the collective mind of people who were trying to explain themselves the world mechanisms calling upon their imagination. Thus, for them, mythology was the key in explaining the existence of the world they lived in. ASSESSMENT OF BOD, COD AS ORGANIC POLLUTION INDICATOR LEVELS OF VARHALA LAKE ABSTRACT Lakes are of great importance both from the natural and economic point of view. Lake water is a source of drinking and domestic water supply for people living in and around the area. The present study was conducted to assess the organic pollution indicators like BOD, COD and DO. The sampling of water was based on human and aquatic activities around the lake. Water from five sampling stations of Varhala Lake was monitored for seasonal variations from May 2011 to April 2012. The BOD was positively correlated with COD of 0.609, as both are the products of oxidation. The correlation between DO and BOD, gave a negative relationship of 0.517 between two variables. Keywords: Water quality monitoring; pollution indicators; Varhala Lake INTRODUCTION Most of our water resources are gradually becoming polluted due to the addition of foreign materials from the surroundings. Rapid urbanization and industrialization has put a lot of pressure on the existing water bodies (Waziri et al., 2009; Sawant and Telave, 2009). Anthropogenic development and changes around lakes affects their ecosystems (Mouri, G et al 2011). Lakes have a complex and fragile ecosystem, as they do not have a self–cleaning ability and therefore readily accumulate pollutants (Abida et al 2008; J.C Akan et al 2012). A lack of satisfaction can lead to consequences in other areas of life and eventually, the destruction of the relationship. For example, job performance is heavily influenced by romantic relationship satisfaction. In a study by Greenhaus and Beutell (1985), they argued that poor satisfaction leads to poor job performance and vice versa. They stated this was to because these two spheres are "interdependent." Satisfaction can also influence quality of health. Conflict in a marital relationship is associated with higher heart rates and blood pressure (Broadwell & Light, 1999; Ewart, Taylor, Kaemer & Agras, 1991; Flor, Breitenstein, Birbaumer & Furst 1995; Frankish & Linden, 1996; Kiecolt–Glaser, 1993; Mayne, O'Leary, McCrady, Contrada & Labouvie, 1997; Morell & Apple, 1990; Shwartz, Slater & Birchler, 1994; Thomsen & Gilbert, 1998). It is also strongly associated with depression and depressed syndromes (Beach, Fincham & Katz, 1998; Fincham & Beach, 1999). This relationship between marital conflict and depression seems to be bidirectional meaning depression is not only a result of conflict but also is caused by the conflict (Beach, et. al., 1998; Fincham & Beach, 1999). • 97. William Blake Poet William Blake is one of the most renowned poets in the history of English literature. Born to the owners of a hosiery shop on Broad Street in the center of London in 1757, William Blake developed into a toddler of extraordinary imagination. While only a young boy (around the age of four), he spoke to his parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and hell throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a close eye on him during tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake began to stencil out the visions from his imagination, and as an eleven year old, he enlisted in Pars' Drawing School to learn the art of printing and plaster casting. Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James Basire, and as a fourteen–year–old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster Abbey, which led to a lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration. While working with Basire, Blake befriended contemporary apprentice James Parker. Parker and Blake would later become partners in a jointly owned print shop on Broad Street, right next door to the Blake hosiery shop and household, a partnership that only lasted one year (1784–85). One must recall the historical context of Blake's development from a young artist to a poet in his mid–twenties. In 1775, America began a revolution of independence from England, igniting tense controversy in London, and the young artist witnessed an angry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 101. William Blake 's ' Urizen, And Jerusalem : The Emanation... William Blake's writing promotes the concept of the human being accessing what Blake sees as the very purpose of life, the poetic genius. Blake, in his writings, All Religions Are One, The Book of Urizen, and Jerusalem: The Emanation of the Great Albion explores both actions of accessing and separating from the poetic genius. Blake contrasts the concept of poetic genius with divisions, such as time and space, created from the human beings separating from it, effectively, keeping them from eternity. Therefore, Blake's writings value the human being's ability to access the poetic genius to the highest importance believing it will allow humans to move towards eternity. Blake first outlines his concept of the poetic genius in his writing, All Religions Are One demonstrating his belief "That the Poetic Genius is the true man" [Principal 1st:1–2] reflecting the idea the poetic genius needs to be utilized to fully realize the goal of the becoming a fully divine human being. Furthermore, Blake interprets "that the body or outward form of Man is derived from the Poetic Genius" [Principal 1st: 2–5] reflecting the concept of the body being at one with the soul; the soul being the poetic genius. Therefore, the body wouldn't exist without the accessing of the poetic genius' imagination conveying a sense of unity between the body and soul. Moreover, Blake conveys a division between the two would cause a deviation from the truth reflect through the limitations of the five senses. Blake ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Along with the cacophony of voices of London's disenfranchised–the men, women and children, the chimney sweeper or the harlot who thronged London's streets and whose piteous cries became the object of Blake's concern, the two set of artistic manifestation portray a seamless blending between innocence, a gradual loss of innocence and finally a metamorphosis into a higher state of innocence. The myth put in accord with the idea that war as destroyer of art, suggesting the fact that it is also the destroyer of love. Tolkien was a literary scholar and payed abrupt attention to the appellation of places and people and the affect the supposed locution of the cultural groups within the novel. Aule, one of the Valar, opposes Iluvatar by attempting to create life, same as Melkor. Unlike Melkor, Aule is humble and begs forgiveness, willing to destroy his creation to regain to good graces of Iluvatar. As described in Ainulindalë Aule's are an imitation of Ilúvatar's, Tolkien makes it clear that only Ilúvatar can create true life, perhaps best described here as beings with souls. (Fry, 2015) The Dwarves exist only as projections of their maker until Ilúvatar gives them independent thought, in this action he both forgives Aule for his defiance and adopts the dwarves as his own. Ilúvatar's accepting and tolerating the making of the Dwarves closes the short–term binary opposition of the two creators, so both Aule and his creations are once again, a singular structure which stands with what is considered good. Iluvatar, however, does not allow the dwarves to interfere with his vision for whom the first born should be so the Dwarves are put to sleep under mountains until after the Elves awaken. The start of the third book, the Quenta Silmarillion, begins with a strife between Tulkas and Melkor. Tulkas is described as a wrathful, angry being in the same sentence he is mentioned laughing. A character unfolds to reveal its hidden reality. One of the best examples of this is the story of Ahalya. In the story of Ahalya, every character represents a symbol. Ahalya is the symbol of beauty. Indra is the symbol of indulgence. Gautama is the symbol of ego and Rama is the symbol of renunciation and spirit. ` Beauty is not only visual but also a realization. The mere touch of Indra led Ahalya's downfall and her emancipation was instantly realized by the touch of Rama. Was it so easy and simple? Ahalya, the daughter of Brahma, grew up with the sound of Om and was not an ordinary woman. She was well versed in the Vedas thanks to her father. As the wife of Gautama, she was a respected Vedic woman due to his high status. However, with the touch of lustful Indra, she slid on the path of sin. As it is not easy for a woman like Ahalya to commit sin, it is essential to analyze the downfall and also the transcendence of Ahalya from psychological and sociological perspectives. Many complicated, psychological, sociological and economic reasons drive a person towards committing a sin. Hence Ahalya's carnal desire cannot be the cause of her downfall. Many years of penance is needed for salvation. Likewise, to commit a sin, long–lasting deprivation, pain, psychological trauma, revolt, depression and the resulting conflict play major roles. Committing a sin needs no less diligence than obtaining salvation. So, why is there contempt for sin? Many Vedic scholars have analyzed the symbolism of Ahalya, Indra, and Gautama. By bestowing rain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Blake's colour print painting filled with watercolors and ink is known as Pity, it is one of a large group of paintings known as "Large Colour Prints". Instead of the angel figure giving life to the figure lying down; it seems as if the angel figure is taking the life of a baby from her, as she is now dead and the angels are taking care of the baby. The angel figure from the horse reaches her arms out to grasp the baby. All of the figures have the same hair color, blonde with slight curls. Along with the curls we notice that the front angel figure's hair is being blown straight up; this will later be explained. There are four figures and two horses in this painting. Each of the horses are centered and facing horizontally with very few vertical lines. The majority of the painting is smooth flowing without jagged, sharp or straight lines. In Pity there is darkness surrounding the characters, forcing the figures to stand out with great measure in the light. The colors in the background do not convey meaning to the picture. The background is dark and solemn, resembling blank space. The figures in Pity seem to carry the meaning, as opposed to the background. Because there is darkness surrounding the figures, there does not seem to be a source of the light, yet light does outline each figure. It seems that Blake did this to focus on the figures and not the background. In this painting the horses are painted grey. Grey is more of a monotone color resembling peace. These words by John Wooden really emphasize what I feel would make a great coach. A coaches job might be to win games, but more importantly they have an opportunity to change the lives of their players. If the coaches only help with success on the court, and not in life, they will not make a great role model. Coaches have a responsibility to develop their players into well rounded individuals. They can do this in a variety of ways. Great coaches not only have to know the sport they are teaching, they must be trustworthy, promote teamwork, and teach players life long lessons. A great coach is going to have knowledge about the sport that they are coaching. Most coaches have developed a passion for the sport they coach because they played the game themselves. They have immersed themselves in the game by not just playing the game, but also by watching the game, reading about the game, following various players over time, etc. This passion becomes the fuel to teach others in hopes that someday they too develop a love for the game, and possibly even one day share their own passion with others.
