3. Question from last lesson
Explain the difference between proactive and reactive
change
To be proactive is to initiate change rather than
simply to react to events.
To be reactive is to wait for a change to occur
and then respond to it.
4. The dynamic nature of schools
Think about our own school and identify the following:
• What changes within your school day?
• How do these changes occur?
• How are you notified of changes?
• Where do these changes stem from?
• What drives how this school operates?
• Why does this school offer an extra or co-curricular
program?
• Who has an interest in how this school runs?
• In relation to the question above, which of the following
two categories do these people fall under? Place them under
the appropriate category in the table.
People with an everyday, hands-on input People with a vested interest
5. • In relation to the question above, why are all these
stakeholders important?
• What would happen if the school decided to have a longer
lunch break to accommodate an assembly? Where does this
direction come from?
• What would happen if the school was to lose a whole day of
classes and have a fundraising walkathon? Where does this
direction come from?
• What is the difference between the above two scenario
