Content/disciplinary aspects
With this Learning Unit, the aim is to stimulate the development of a civic consciousness not
limited to the national sphere, thus guiding it towards an european citizenship.
A path is proposed in line with the European institutions' instructions on education and building
European citizenship, so that the school becomes actively involved in the process of growth needed
to fully integrate the person into the present society, in a continuous and rapid transformation.
To do this, we will begin by illustrating the geo-political aspects of Europe, with its division into
States and macro-regions, which are to compose the current framework of the European Union. We
will then mark the crucial historical stages of the European integration process. A special
consideration will be given to the economic aspect of this integration, with the study of the
significance of the monetary area and, in particular, of the euro-zone. Finally, the institutional and
administrative dynamics of the European Union will be deepened.
Language aspects
Being this a Learning Unit that adopts the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)
methodology, lessons will take place, of course, in English, that is the vehicle foreign language
through which non-linguistic contents will be taught and learned.
As the class basically starts from an A1 CEFR level, a somewhat elementary syntax will be used
which uses the basic grammatical structures of the English language. What will be emphasized, step
by step, will be the key-words of each lesson, so that at the end of the Learning Unit a specific
glossary will be compiled on the topics discussed.
Learning Unit Times
In the classroom: about 7 hours.
In autonomy: there are no pre-set times; they will depend on the different rhythms of learning.
Materials, tools, resources and technologies
LIM or PC with projector; Internet connection; textbooks; printer.
Methodological Approach: warm-up, participated lesson, frontal lesson, teamwork, individual
reflection, deepening, dispensation measures and compensatory instruments for special educational
needs.

Aspetti contenutistici/disciplinari
monetaria e, in particolare, dell’euro-zona.
termine dell’UdA un glossario specifico relativo all’argomento trattato.
Tempi dell’UDA
In classe: 7 ore circa.
In autonomia: non ci sono tempi prefissati; essi dipenderanno dai diversi ritmi d’apprendimento.
Materiali, strumenti, risorse e tecnologie
Approccio metodologico: warm-up, lezione partecipata, lezione frontale, lavoro di gruppo,
riflessione individuale, misure dispensative e strumenti compensativi per i BES.
