Rock was now simply one established genre
among many competing for the younger
demographic. Rappers replaced rock stars
as icons of youth rebellion: although
Eminem was white, most of the other
major performers were African American,
including Public Enemy, N.W.A, Notorious
B.I.G., and Tupac Shakur. Country music,
including Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, and
the Dixie Chicks, courted suburban youth
with a slicked-up twang. A new breed of
boy bands like N'Sync and the Backstreet
Boys, revived the teenybopper for the MTV
era. Dance beats appealed to a subculture
of ravers, whose consumption of the party
drug Ecstasy terrified parents who had
grown up experimenting with marijuana to
the sounds of rock. The new age of our
generation are interested in different and
upbeat sounds.
New affluent workers
 This class group is sociable, has lots of cultural interests and
is in the middle of all the class groups in terms of wealth.
According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of
people in this group:
 Are young- mainly between the ages of 14-30 years old.
 Come from a working class background- have sustainable jobs and a
good income in order to meet the middle of all class groups in terms of
wealth.
 Own their own home- as they have a sustainable income and can afford
to have things that they want from the money they earn.

My demographics is
mainly towards
females who are
between the ages of
13- 25.
Their fashion trends
are anything and
everything. From
rock chicks to pretty
in pink, to girls with
multi-coloured hair,
to girls with natural
coloured hair.
Many girls follow the
style of what's in
magazine is and the
media but my
magazine promotes
every girls style
through a mixed
media magazine.
My demographic buy typical
things any teenager would love
to have and want.
From technology and the latest
gadgets to the new style of
fashion or their own fashion on
the high-street, to going out to
buy food (healthy and
unhealthy), and buying tickets
to the cinema, to shows and to
concerts.
My demographic is for
active and energetic
people, who enjoy
sports, and enjoy doing
hobbies such as physical
and interactive hobbies
like swimming, going to
concerts, socialising
with friends like going
shopping and going to
the cinema, as well as
going out for leisure
days like going to
theme parks, cooking,
art, reading, etc.
Creative and interesting
people are my main aim
for my demographic,
for people who are
their own person.
