UsingPremiere Pro
I useda plethoraof differenteffectsinorderto
editmyvideo.Thisparticularpiece of software I
have onlyusedonce before fora brief amountof
time,therefore Ionlyknew the basicssuchas
cuttinga clipor changingthe volume of the sound
on the song.
While workingonthisvideoIwasintroducedto
variousdifferenteditingstylesandeffectsto
enhance the video.Forexample,inthe print
screento the leftwe addeda transparentvideo
effecttomake the coloursin the realityscenes
and the dreamsequencesjuxtaposed.Youcansee
the settings of the effectusedon these frames to
create the filter.We haduseda similareffectin
the preliminarytaskhowever,we didn’talter
themto the extentwe didinthe firstdraft. We
chose blackand white toresemble oldfilms.This
isbecause the memoriesshe isseeingare
memoriesof herpastrelationshipswiththe
bullies.
In addition,we alsointroducedmore advanced
cuts. We workedwithsimple cutssuchas the
cross cut howeverinthe montage scene there is
fastpaced editingof two differentscenescreating
a cross cut, as can be seeninthe screenshotto
the left.We were therefore able tomake the
videofootage workincohesionwiththe beatsin
the music. Thismeansthe editingpace andthe
beatof the songwere cooperatingtogetherto
make the videoseemmore professionalandhave
the style andlookof a real musicvideo.
Lastly,we alsouseda range of transitioneffects
throughoutthe video.Forexample crossdissolve.
We usedthese whenthe tempoof the music
became slower.Itmade the cutsbetweenscenes
smootherandlesssharpmeaningitfitwell with
the music. Thisallowedfora change inpace of the
editingwithoutitbeingglaringlyobvious,itbrings
more subtletytothe editingstyle. Youcansee the
final full firstdraftedittothe leftonthe last
image.
