The song that we will be usingforourmusicvideoisRadioactive byindie rockband,Imagine
Dragons.Our videoportraysa female whoisinherlate teensbeingbullied.Itwill be alinear
narrative throughoutthe video. Howeverthere will alsobe some minorabstractand performance
elements throughoutthe video.
Firstly,the openingof the videois28secondslongand will includevariousclipstoallow the
audience toestablishabackstoryof the mainprotagonistina short amountof time.These clipswill
alsobrieflyintroduce ustothe mainantagonistsandshow partsof herpast that were alsohappyas
well asthe bullying.Theseclipswill crosscutto and fromthe presentdayto her memoriesof
differentevents.As the musicspeedsupsowill the editingtomatchthe change inpace of the
music.
Furthermore,afterthissequence hasconcludedwe will use acontinuityeditasthe girl opensher
eyestoreveal thatit isthe nextday. Withinthe nextverse we will use avarietyof shots,suchas long
shotsand panningshots,toestablishherbedroomsetting.Inadditiontothiswe will alsosee herlip
synchingtothe musicto addan elementof performance withinthe video.Asshe isdoingthiswe
will see hergetting readyforschool/college andthenhave atrackingshotfrom herroom to the
learningenvironment.
Moreover, duringthe chorusthere will be atracking shotfollowingthe girl walkingdownacorridor
withinthe school settingwiththe antagonistandother people staring.There willbe amixture of
differentshotssuchas close ups,mediumshotsandlongshots,withinthisscene depictingdifferent
people withinthe corridor.There willthenalsobe anextreme close upof the protagonistsface and
thena tracking shotawayfrom the girl to reveal thateveryone besidesherisgone andthe settingis
ina dreamlike state/mindsequence.Thisdreamsequence will signal the startof the transitionfrom
a shy girl whois bulliedtosomeone more confident. Withinthissettingthere willbe shotsof her
rippinguppast memories.
In addition,afterthe choruscomestoa conclusionthere isacut to herin herroom crying.This
revealstothe audience heremotionsthatare evokedwhenshe isdownthe corridor/mind.Itwill
include amixture of close ups,mediumshotsandlongshots.Eachshot will allow the audience to
see herfacial expressionandbodylanguage asshe goesthroughthe processof developinginto
someone more confident.
Additionally,duringthe lastscene she would’vebeenbuildingupangerandfrustrationaswell as

herlife toxic.Itwill signal the cleansinganddeclutteringof hermind.Fastpacededitingwill be used
inthisscene to allowthe audience tophysicallysee the anger.Italsoremovesherfromthe wallsshe
has builtupoverthe years.
Furthermore,asthe musicdecreasesinpace the character will be revealedinanew light.Herdress
code would’ve changedtomake herappearmore confidentand strong.Thisispresentedinascene
where she walksbackintothe school to face her bullies. Howeverwhenshe firstwalksintothe
school there will be cutsto heroldself asshe beginstodoubtherself. Whenthe choruspeaksshe
will be permanentlyherselftosymbolise herfull transition.
Lastly,there will be cutsto the people inthe hallwayrecognisingthe transitionintoamore
confidentperson.There will alsobe use of eye-line matchtoa person whowould’ve beenshown
throughoutthe videohoweverwould’veseemedmore insignificantuntilyourealisethatshe will
ultimatelymake friendswiththe maincharacter.Thissignalsafull developmentof the main
character.
