Comparison of my double page spread with a
1. I will look at the similarities and
differences. They are both targeted at
young girls and the genre is pop!!
2.
3.
4. Both have a main full picture of featured artist on right hand side of
the double page spread. Taking up the majority of the room. They
both have iconic famous pop singers so the audience will be really
interested.
On the left hand side at the top both have the singers name in black
and italics and is big however, not as big as the main title cover
line. They also both end in...
Underneath the artists name both have a main title which is big and
bold so stands out straight away. Both Arial Black as is a well known
font and stand out really well. Both say ‘ Superstar Rising’ This
grabs the readers attention as mentions superstar. I took inspiration
from this double page spread as in my opinion is really appealing
and professional. It is obvious that it is the main cover line as is the
biggest.
5. Both have a brief introduction of what is in the article.
Both start article with a drop capital
Both articles are interviews on the artists so questions and
answers
Both have a small image of the artist at a different time.
Both have a page number at the bottom in the right hand corner
so the reader know where they are.
6. My cover has a background and effects. I did this to make it seem
more exciting and appealing and magical so the target audience can
associate. My background on my cover and contents are white so
wanted something different and the background blends in really
nicely, matching the image and not making the left side of the
double page spread seem empty or un finished. Also my main image
did not cover the whole of the page so would be too much white.
However, the main image of Jessie J covers the whole of the page
one leaving a minority of white so that looks fine and still
professional and you can tell it has been finished.
The colours of both double page spreads are mainly black and pink
or orange. They both go and stand out, adding colour to make it
seem more interesting for the readers.
I used pink as thought it would relate to my audience more as girls
love pink.
7. The last major difference I have is my double page spread has
two noticeable pull out quotes. I wanted to include them when
people read articles they usually notice and read them first.
They are always quotes which will want you to read on. So, I
used quotes I though were the most important and interesting
and the ones that would sell the article.
