M/s Western India Forgings Pvt Ltd, Pune: This group is engaged in manufacturing of diversified open die, closed die and
ring rolled forgings in three plants located in Pune & Sanaswadi with an annual group turnover of over Rs. 350 Crores. This
group has ten Pneumatic & hydraulic close die forging Hammers ranging from 1T till 16T, one each 2500T& 4000T, 4500T
Press Lines and 3 meter Ring Rolling Machine along with 1T, 3T, 5T pneumatic hammer and 1600 T ZDAS, for open die
forging. WIF is mainly engaged in manufacturing of forgings for Oil Field Industry, Earth Moving Equipment, Gear Industry,
Wind energy & Automotive Industries.
Key Achievements:
 Steered the company through a very stringent overseas customer audit for Quality and Systems and
Instrumental in re-instating AVL status within two years of joining.
 Established Die Design and QA departments at Sanaswadi plant from scratch.
 Instrumental in getting plant approved from several reputed domestic & overseas customers e.g.GE (oil & gas),
Baker Huges, Fisher Sanmar, Wipro Infrastructure, Victaulic, Dana, Mahindra Sona, Automech, Autocomp,

 Successfully raised production from less than 50 tons to 600 tons per month within a year and raised the sales
figures from Rs.50 Lacs in May 2008 to almost 600 lacks in Sep 2009.
 Exceeded production levels in good times & used recessionary period of automotive industry in utilizing all
available resources to develop parts for non-automotive customers in earthmoving and power sector e,g TENGL,
BEML & PGCIL.
Key Achievements:
 Introduced the company to major OEM’s and secured sustained business. Revived and productionised the Sick
Forging Unit. Increased production from 50Tons/m to 600 Tons/m within a year.
 Revived 8000T Press line Erection and commissioning project and submitted samples of crank shaft and Front
Axle beam to Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland respectively. Developed highly talented and professional
technical team. Secured business worth about Rs.6 Cr. p.m. from domestic OEM’s.
 Steered the team to get ISO/TS 16949 certification within six months. Resolved balancing issue in M&M Crank
shaft to earn schedule of 5000 nos.p.m. Changed company status from a Deferred Supplier to a Preferred

 Got plant approved by Railways and presented proposal for Stiffer Cam Shafts forgings out of closed die
manufacturing process yielding 40% savings.
 Introduced control cooling and developed micro alloy crank shafts for Greaves Cotton Aurangabad, tube yokes
and flange yokes for Dana Spicer.
 Instrumental in getting plant approved by world No-1, Thyssen Krupp of Germany and accomplished the
stepping stone towards joint venture for crank shaft manufacturing.
