*The above is a compilation of personal and professional projects that represent my
thorough understanding of automotive design, engineering, and fabrication. All of
the above projects were designed from 2002 to 2016.
4. Directed the design and fabrication of following bolt-on 3rd Gen Camaro components:
torque arm, adj. lower control arms, pan-hard bar relocation mount, adj. pan-hard bar,
sub-frame stiffeners, transmission mounts, 2 point and 3 point strut tower stiffeners.
5. • 1st Gen Mustang, Mustang II IFS, Redesign
• 1st Gen Mustang PRO-G IRS, Redesign
• 1st Gen Nova PRO-G IRS, New Product
• Ford Coyote Front Drive kit, New Product
• Ford Coyote Mid Length Headers, New Product
• 4-Link Kits, Converted 6 kits from Johns to
Currie rear ends
Projects that I completed:
6. Used 3D Faro Edge to scan existing components and create 3D Solidworks models of power
steering pump, rack & pinion, starter motor and motor mounts, engine blocks, transmissions,
bell housings.
10. 315HP Methanol Powered Chevy Ecotec. Modifications include: Drilled motorplate, rotated
motor 5 degrees CCW, fabricated left & right side motor mounts, custom K&N airbox,
replumed fuel system, relocated accu-sump, hood modification, driveline modifications.
11. Accumulated 30 feature wins, 100 heat race wins, 25 fast times on both pavement and dirt
short tracks across the Midwest. Family run racing operation. All custom designed,
engineered, and fabricated parts and components. Preformed all races set up on these cars.
13. Before Photo
This 1600cc air cooled VW Engine didn’t run, transmission didn’t shift. It
was in need of a complete overhaul.
*Note: the photo is from the original sellers eBay Ad. Please excuse poor quality
16. Fabricated ¼” gauge aluminum diamond plate panels, headlight brackets, raised roll
cage hoops, dropped gas tank, added oil cooler & mounting brackets and remote filter
mounts. Fabricated seat brackets, added crosstube for 4 point seat belts, added Lexan
windshield, and rewired entire buggy.
Design/FabricationWork
17. The new headers routed slightly differently than the old ones, so I had to notch
out a section to make clearance for the header tube. I started by making a
cardboard cut out template. Then I cut out a patch out of sheet metal, bent it to
shape and welded it in to seal up the tube. The tube was ground, primed and
painted.
Design/FabricationWork
18. Designed and fabricated center console, added gauges, switches, starter button,
engine-turned panels, and concealed wiring. Added single handed cutting brake
for decreased turning radius.
Design/FabricationWork
19. Fabricated and welded sheet metal patches for sections of the lower rear
frame rails that had some water/ rust damage. Designed and fabricated a
pair of headlight mounting tabs. Mounted and wired KC headlights.
FabricationWork
20. Designed and fabricated lower shock mounts onto trailing arms. Removed OEM
torsion bar and stock trailing arms. Replaced with heavy duty tubular 4130 chrome
moly trailing arms.
Design/FabricationWork
22. Design/FabricationWork
Fabricated custom trailer ramps from angle iron. Welded hinges to trailer. Cut fenders off and
moved them 1.5” outwards on each side. Also installed 1.5” wheel spacers. This allowed the Sand
Rail to fit on trailer with the 15” wide paddle tires and eliminated the need to swap to narrower
tires.
27. Upgraded the OEM Cavalier
brakes to Corvette C-6 brakes
and Corvette Brake Calipers
Designed a quick solution for the
original shifter cables that would pop
off the trans lever during the race.
Later, I replaced them with aviation
grade push/ pull shifter cables that
were equipped with steel rod ends to
permanently fix this problem
29. Experience creating wiring harnesses. Specifically, helped to troubleshoot the installation of
Motec PDM System and keypad on MXG Dash Logger in a Porsche Cayman. Also have specific
experience setting up an AIM EVO3 and a AIM Solo DL.
31. Design consists of pump motor, two heating elements, switches, led lights,
quick disconnect couplings, and flapper valve. Created instructions and
diagrams. Over a dozen sold and zero returns.
33. Installed a total of 4 lift kits:
TwoTera Flex 3.0” Short Arm Kits, also
corrected rear spring on axle rubbing issue.
Replaced front Drive Shaft, modified bumper
Tera Flex 1.5” Leveling Kit
6.0” LongArm Iron Rock Lift on XJ Cherokee
35. I designed and fabricated this
custom trunk to create storage
and provide a viewing deck with
which to stand on.
This is my working prototype.
¼” Gauge Diamond Plate
36. Here are the trunk fabrication templates
Hinges allow the trunk to fold so it fits
between roll cage. There is no other trunk
currently on the market that is as large as
this one, and strong enough to support the
weight of two full size adults
37. Materials Used:
4ft x 8ft sheet of ¼” Aluminum Diamond Plate
Transfer punches, Clecos clamps, drills
8 ft. length of Heavy Duty Piano Hinge
¼” Rivets with steel shank and back up washers
Grinded all edges with a full radius, so they wouldn’t slice the soft top.
39. I designed, engineered and fabricated the above door removal tool. I bent the threaded rod
and used an eyelet bolt with correct thread size to screw into the existing OEM mounting
hole. It works great!
Removing passenger side
door used to take 3
people, 1/2 can of PB
Blaster and 1-1/2 hours.
The problem was rusty
hinge pins and bushings
inserts.
43. DesignedAllegion Swing DoorTest Stand using Solidworks. Responsible for
procurement, inspection, assembly and installation of weldment. Test stand allowed
for 6 slide and 2 swing gearboxes to be simultaneously life tested.
45. Converted an old midget frame into Racing Simulator.
*Note:The red one was the prototype version that I fabricated and welded myself. It
was the predecessor to the final white/blue simulator
