Silent Features Of Developing A China Pakistan Economic...
Silent features of CPEC:
The idea of developing a china Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC) was visualized by the Chinese premier Li Keqiang during his visit to Pakistan in
May 2013, found a proper shape in the present visit of the president Xi.The proposed economic corridor will connect the north–western Chinese
province of Xijiang through the network of roads measuring around 3000 km (Xinhua Net). The economic corridor will link China's underdeveloped far
western region to Pakistan 's Gawader deep–sea port on the Arabian sea via Pok through a massive and complex networks of roads, railways, business

Argumentative Essay On Artificial Intelligence
Argumentative Essay In discussions of Artificial Intelligence, one controversial issue has been that A.I could at one point start control themselves
and go against the owner. On the one hand, some people argue that A.I could be helpful in many other ways like with technology and in certain
fields. On the other hand, some people oppose it because they can take away a lot of jobs just by having these things. Others believe that A.I is a
good thing because it can be used in certain types of fields. My own view is that Artificial Intelligence is a bad thing because of all things that can
go wrong and because of the jobs it can take away. Defining Artificial Intelligence (A.I). Artificial Intelligence is the study and design of
intelligence agents (Science Daily). Artificial Intelligence should be something helpful to us and not be something that can go against us. In an
Article Elon Musk says that there are 3 rules for A.I and what should be done. A.I shouldn't be for cyberbullying and tell people to do certain things
that are not supposed to be done. Also, it shouldn't give out personal information of whoever the provider is. With having these A.I robots they
will know so much information and probably secret information that maybe the government doesn't want out. Elon Musk states "A.I should not
be weaponized, and any A.I must have an impregnable off switch" (The New York Times). He's right what if something were to happen and they
can't shut them off and what if they have so much of everybody's personal information that gets released. Having A.I in the future will make it
harder to get jobs. With A.I there will be so many A.I machines replacing humans so a lot of people will lose their jobs. In an article "Is AI the end
of jobs, or a new beginning" by Vivek Wadhwa she writes about how the A.I that's out right now like Amazons Alexa or Apples Siri can do much
stuff like order your food, make schedules for you but it's nothing like a human. A.I will take millions of jobs and according to Wadhwa "We can
deny this is happening, be angry or simply ignore it. But if we do, we will be the losers" (The Washington Post). Wadhwa is saying people haven't
accepted that fact the in the future there will be A.I and once they

The General Term Of Journalism
In our contemporary society, we consume massive amount of public affairs every day, all around the world, without being a personal witness of them.
We are able to receive this important information through the news media, which includes print–based media such as newspapers, magazines, books,
and audio visual such as films, television, and lastly, Internet. Their main purpose is to deliver news to the general public. A legitimate news story
aims to do all of the following–inform, educate, and entertain its audience. Thus, it should be mainly concerned with high level of conflict and be
relevant to its readers. Only very recently though, the news became increasingly focused solely on infotainment, losing the usefulness of a newspaper.

There were a lot of interesting articles on The Huffington Post, under a section named The Death of Newspapers. The headlines of the included
newspaper articles caught my attention–they were called "Here's How The Way We Read Newspapers Has Changed", "Bad News for Newspapers",
and "Twitter Is the 21st Century Newspaper". Based on their titles, it can be assured that technology has shaped the journalism industry in the 21st
Century.
Technology has become a very common device to own and utilize nowadays, whether it is a public/private computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It
became very affordable and approachable as well, and has had the most influence on the 21st Century, or better described as the Digital Age. The use
of media technologies has influenced in different fields in life from communication to education. It became a key tool in learning and it has also had a
great impact on contemporary journalism, and how our society access to news organizations.
Our modern society no longer receive news through broadsheet newspapers; nowadays, they can access news at anytime throughout the day by using
smartphone apps, podcasts, television, and even popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. For this reason, they are constantly

International News Coverage On Indian English Print Media...
International News Coverage in Indian English Print Media Dailies A Qualitative Content Analysis of The Times of India, The Hindu and The
Indian Express Introduction India is home to one of the largest, most diverse print media sectors in the world. With a whopping 82237 newspapers
registered as of 2012, out of which a staggering 11,478 are in English, the Indian media seems to be thriving and feeding an incredible number of
people information every single day. Despite these overwhelmingly positive numbers, a lot of concerns have risen regarding the actual content of
newspapers. Arguments of commercialization and paid journalism (which are rampant) aside, there has been some discontent regarding the lack of
coverage of International Issues in the Indian Media, particularly Indian Newspapers. To put things into perspective, one can look no further than the
Syrian Crisis that is still raging just yonder and look first at the general ignorance of the average Indian – how many are actually aware of one of the
greatest crimes against humanity that is currently underway? With over 170,000 civilians recorded dead, as per the Syrian Observatory for Human
Rights, one would expect significant concern fuelled by the media providing significant coverage of gruelling events. However, as illustrated in an
article on News Analysis website News Laundry, that is not the case. "...What happens in Syria concerns us directly. If your only source of news was

Introduction:
The Associated Press (AP) is an American news agency that was established in 1846 by five daily newspapers from New York City. They
established the cooperation in order to deliver news about the Mexican War faster than the U.S. Post Office could. The known founder was Moses
Yale Beach and the first CEO, named Alexander Jones, came to power in 1848. Today the company is run by Tom Curley who has been the active
CEO since 2003. Curley is stationed in the AP headquarters located in New York City. The AP is, just like it always has been, a not

From the establishments of the company and forward it has been these people who have been traveling all over the world, risking their lives in order
to gather the breaking news that AP is so famous for. These men and woman are the reason that AP has been able to be the first to deliver the breaking
news from many of the most important historical events happening to mankind. From the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the assassination of Abraham
Lincoln to the death of Pope John Paul II and the fall of the shah of Iran the Associated Press's reporters has been there to break the news before anyone
else. The Associated Press has won 49 Pulitzer Prizes in both writing and photography which gives another great example of what an amazing strength
their reporters are to the company. The trustworthiness among these reporters and photographers are once again proven.
When discussing human capital there is another branch that is contributing to the strengths of the company and that are the people that deal with the
corporate part of the company. Even if the reporters and photographers are doing an amazing job creating a brand image for the company it could not
be one without the people running it. One example is the people in the Research and Development department who are always ahead of their time
creating new and innovative ideas for the company. One example of this is the Stylebook a guidebook for journalists, reporters, and photographers all

Fake Media In The Media
Since the late 20th–century mass media has been growing at exponential rates. The accessibility of technology gives media a way to enter our daily
lives. We are constantly flooded with all kinds of information from the Internet and TV. The ease of access makes people vulnerable to misinformation,
the average person will believe most things they read online. The news plays a big role in providing crucial information to the masses. Fake news has
become a very hot topic within our modern society because of technology. There are global agendas and political movements being forced on society

"Some fake news providers seek to advance candidates they favor. The Romanian man who ran endingthefed.com, for example, claims that he started
the site mainly to help Donald Trump's campaign" (Allcott). This misinformation had greater effects post–election; claims began to spread about
Russian hackers supposedly having involvement in the election. A simple lie on a news article can have disastrous repercussions. People need to be
extra mindful when it comes to obtaining information from the news and media.
One of the primary factors for the rise in fake news is the ease of access to information. In a study done by the Knight Foundation their data reports,
"Two–thirds of Facebook users access news on the social platform, and with 67 percent of U.S. adults active on Facebook, that translates to 44
percent of the overall U.S. population which accesses news on the social platform" (Gottfried). The news is heavily implemented on social media
platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Social media provides an outlet for news agencies to curate and target their content towards readers on a
personal basis. Technologies like browser cookies and user tracking give news agencies a way to profile their readers and provide content that can
easily be misinforming. It has become very easy for anyone to set up a website and gain money for their content. Bloggers are now monetizing their

Secondly, to stabilize the demands and supply relationship of farmers and local business, HSBC should help them to establish a long term and

production and stimulate the yielding supply to local enterprises.
4.1.2 Individual lending
China's domestic banks, generally, prefer to provide lending to good–sized enterprises than to small enterprises or personal customers. Furthermore,
under Chinese laws, smaller companies and farmers have no property to access financial support. Zhao (2010) observes that, compared to developed
east part of China, where farmers can obtain lending by valuable and large agricultural tools such as tractors, poor western rural areas are more
difficult for farmers to access financial support. Before foreign banks develop rural financial market, people usually access financing support from
relatives or friends. To resolve this problem, HSBC needs to

Argumentative Essay About Fake News
Fake news is something that has been around since news itself began. More recently though the frequency of fake news has been trending upward.
This is due to multiple different reasons. These include the rise in social media and also simple advancements in technology. In today's society, just
about anyone capable of using the internet is capable of posting an article. On the flipside, just about anyone capable of using the internet are
exposing themselves to fake news. Another reason for the large spread of fake news is that people are simply just not educated on the how to
determine what's trust worthy and what is not. Some people are so oblivious that when fronted something real and factual their minds will still deny
the evidence in front of them in a phenomenon known as the backfire effect. Fake news is a part of today's society, and the only way to avoid it is
through the knowledge of how to determine what is actually credible. In a "Finders guide to Facts" the author speaks on the post truth era. In reality, we
have always been in this era as facts and lies have always been difficult to decipher. The author Steve Inskeep refers to now as the post trust era. One
of the biggest issues in fake news is the American peoples lack of trust in the government, and if they are really telling us everything. This makes sense
because there is little doubt that the government is hiding some kind of valuable information from us. People not having trust is one of the first steps

most of the regional or global media houses establishements have limited media effects due to unavailable or broadcasting via satellite systems which
are most of the time very expensive and commercial oriented hence only few people can afford to subscribe for the services.
There is no one–size–fits–all policy when it comes to identifying an effective communication strategy in diplomacy, whether it is in its narrow sense of
official negotiation or understood as public diplomacy.
In order to improve its global image and cultivate an international environment that would facilitate China's continuous rise in the world, the Chinese

Yoshitomo Imura Ethical Issues
A specific case of a user applying the technology in a less than ethical and certainly illegal fashion occurred in Japan recently. It was heavily covered
by the Xinhua News Agency when Yoshitomo Imura, a 27 college employee living near Tokyo, was found to have five plastic guns in his home that
were created through three–dimensional printing. Two of these guns were capable of firing lethal bullets (Xinhua News Agency). The case of
Yoshitomo Imura in particular violated thefirearm laws established in Japan, and it may only be a short matter of time before the United States and

A step that can be taken to begin to safeguard people against the more malicious users of the technology is to require three–dimensional printers to be
registered in a database for law enforcement to use. This could give law enforcement agencies a place to start looking when three–dimensionally
printed weaponry, drugs, and other paraphernalia surface. A law like this would also give similar power to those seeking to limit the power of copyright
infringing printers, including those who would use the technology to print money. An alternative to this law is to have the download, modification, and
utilization of computer–assisted design files monitored. For example, if a user prints two or three three–dimensionally printed guns, that user may only
be trying to obtain a cheap, reliable way to protect their home. However, if a user were to print a dozen of those guns, they are more likely seeking to
traffic firearms, and a red flag could be sent to law enforcement to further investigate and potentially prevent a violent, untraceable crime. The downside
to this is apparent though. New files for download could be created daily. It would be extremely difficult to catch every

information which enhances knowledge. It is the right of a human being to know what is happening around him/her. Throughout time, the journalism
industry has gone through several changes. At the beginning, there were only weekly magazines providing readers with information and knowledge

Hypothesis
For my project, I have come with the hypothesis that "If news agencies provide multimedia news accurately containing all information within the
shortest possible time on the web people will watch it."
Methodology of research
For my project I carried out survey to gather primary data. The survey is a combination of stratified random sample and cluster sample. This is
because there are readers and viewers of news of all ages in this country, so random sampling would be convenient for this purpose and cluster
sampling would help me to gather information from different professions top get a diversified idea about the population. This survey has been carried
in all parts of the city as it may not be viable to go outside the city due to time constraint. For data analysis, I have used tools like graphical
presentation, frequency, percentage, cross tabs, t–test, z–test, chi–square analysis, ANOVA, regression, etc. The size of the survey questionnaire
consists of 19 questions. I believe that the questionnaire contains sufficient number of questions to get me enough information to do my research. I
have conducted survey on 120 populations.

Effective Methods to Reduce the Spread of HIV
Intervention: Prevention and protection is the most cost effective method to reduce the spread of HIV. In mid–1990s Cambodia's prevention efforts
have centered generally on encouraging the condom use among men when participating in business sex and swaying men to diminish their business
sex activity. In 1999, the Cambodian government launched a 100% condom usage campaign among the brothel sex workers that was modeled from
Thailand's successful program. Education was one of the best measures employed by the Cambodian government in preventing the HIV transmission.
95% of the Cambodian women know about HIV/AIDS according to the Cambodian Demographic & Health Survey 2000 (Department of Planning and
Health Information, 2003). This progress was achieved by extensive awareness and education camps throughout the Cambodian provinces. The
awareness programs were associated with the government and non–profit organizations. Another effective method for prevention and control is through
Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT). In the process of learning individual HIV status, the VCT approach incorporates the pretest and posttest
counseling and gives critical prevention measures and messages (Department of Planning and Health Information, 2003). Cambodia is a nation of
13.4 million individuals with 80% of the population living in provincial ranges. In 2007, for every capita GDP item was $597, positioned third least

The Importance of Globalization

As we know, the Internet has a great contribution to globalisation. At the same time, globalisation shows its impact on economy and culture. Held and
McGrew rightly defined globalsation is "[...] a widening, deepening and speeding up of worldwide interconnectedness in all aspects of contemporary
social life, from the cultural to the criminal, the financial to the spiritual (Held and McGrew 1999 P.2)". On the other hand, businessjournalism is facing

Unfortunately, journalists used the fake press release in this case and finally caused a drop of the stocks of that company (Roush 2006). Some
journalists claimed that they want to keep in touch with public relations of big companies and avoid asking critical questions. Some journalists even do
not really understand what is happening in the market, so they easily believe in what the big companies told them (Robinson 2008).
Some scholars argued that these mistakes occurred when journalists are urge to be the first one producing the news on the sites and seldom analyze and
stand back (Murphy 2013). Especially when they work under a great pressure environment with a great amount of competitors. However, it shows that
journalists are incapable to give consideration to investigation, deliberation and multiplicity of information under a pressure of being speedy in news
production (Redden and Witschge 2010). Also, readers expect journalists to take their responsibilities and avoid violating social orders. This is because
their working attitude is affecting the benefits of the whole society (McQuail 1992).

Under a popularisation of the Internet, it seems that business journalism are facing a great competition in the news industry as the market entries

Overview of the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di
The Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di Introduction: The Qin Dynasty, under its first ruler, Qin Shi Huang di, would unite China as a single entity for the
first time. His rule, which lasted from 221BC to 210BC, would bring together various warring factions under a single imperial authority. In doing so,
this imperial authority would also attribute to itself an incredible degree of divine importance as perhaps is best demonstrated by the tomb constructed
in his honor. The Qin Dynasty is remarkable for the ego and ambition of its emperor. Qin Shi Huang di may be demonstrated as a man of unparalleled
conceit, with the extent of artifact evidence notable at his burial site standing in direct competition with that of any pharaoh or European king. That
Qin was the first ruler to unify the parameters of what is now modern China, it may not be seen as so unreasonable that much of the artwork notable
from his time was that which was built in tribute to him. Indeed, the beginnings of the Great Wall of China would come about in this time, and would
be as much a testament to the remarkable vanity of Qin's ambitions as to the strategic justification for the erection of the enormous structure. However,
the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di, contrary to the security–induced Great Wall, remains shrouded in mystery even to the present day. The plans behind its
construction, the incredible detail and the sheer cruelty of what is implied by its many chambers give continued life to archeological speculation.

The First Real Newspaper, Relation, And Politics
The first real newspaper, Relation, was printed in 1605 in Strasbourg. The first French paper was published in 1632. The first regularly published
English newspaper appeared in London in 1622. They were owner–operated, and were largely autonomous, although risky because talking about
royalty and politics was illegal.
Most early newspapers were short–lived. Printing and paper were expensive and relatively few people could read. Journalism was also a risky business,
as those in power did not welcome criticism or scrutiny.
The late 18th century saw an important shift in European societies, namely the formation of a group known as 'the public'. Urban life had to develop
sufficiently for strangers to be regularly thrown into contact with one another. Common interests began to be widely shared among people otherwise
not linked by family, religion, or other established categories of social life. A rising bourgeois class came out from under exclusive royal control,
bringing with them leisure time, education, and financial means. It signalled a power shift, both financial and political.
In 1729 Benjamin Franklin, then owner–editor of the Pennsylvania Gazzette, pioneered the idea of paid newspaper advertising. He also put in place a
policy of editorial impartiality, clearly articulated in an editorial column in the Pennsylvania Gazette in 1731, voicing sentiments familiar to journalists
of the digital area: "If all Printers were determin'd not to print any thing till they were

1.1.1.Definition of diplomatic relations "Diplomatic" comes from the Latin word "diploma" which means charter. In the broad sense, diplomatic can
be interpreted as legitimate and legal use of a state in conducting foreign policy. In order to establish the relationship between countries, states usually
send their diplomats to work in each other's country (Herde, 2000). The benefit of diplomatic relations is to support the process of democratization,
sustained economic stability, social cohesion, tolerance of differences, and to encourage respect, protection of human rights within countries (Herde,
2000). 1.1.2.Background and history of the diplomatic relations between Indonesia and New Zealand In carrying out its foreign relations, Indonesia
adheres to the principle of "free and active" foreign policy. "Free" means that Indonesia is not bound by any ideology or by politics of foreign
countries or by super power countries. While "active" means that Indonesia actively participated in public order and world peace, with respect for
sovereignty of other countries. One of the main purposes of Indonesia

Known as Kepler 452b , the new planet is the smallest exoplanet yet discovered within this necessary habitable zone of a G2 star, which is our own Sun

Corporate Interests and Their Impact on News Coverage
Hypothesis
There is no denying that news media is big business. The complete coverage of stories and investigative reports are certainly at risk with the rise of
media as a business, rather than strictly a service to the public. Over the past few years, there have been a number of cases where television stations
or news publications have killed news stories or forced reporters to slant stories due to pressure from advertisers or those in power at the news. This
paper will attempt to examine the relationship between social responsibility and news editors, and apply ethical theories to explain what should and can
be done. Should editors have the power to kill or slant stories, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Carol Guensburg examines the ethical dilemmas of news reporting that involve the media agency's owner in the December 1998 issue of American
Journalism Review (p. 10). In "When the story is about the owner," she determines that it is up to the individual journalists and news operations to
continue reporting important stories, regardless of the impact they may have on corporate or advertising interests (Guensburg, p. 11).
American Journalism Review's October 1998 article by Jane Kirtley, "Second–guessing news judgment," looks at the issue of FCC regulations of news
coverage (p. 86). She notes that having the governmental agency get involved in news coverage would likely lead to the consequence that
"broadcasters will be discouraged from covering controversial issues at all" (Kirtley, p. 86).
In addition to these and many other articles referencing corporate interests in the media, an organization called Project Censored does annual research
to "explore and publicize stories of national importance on issues that have been overlooked or under–reported by the mainstream news media"
(Jensen, p. 14).

The relationship between social responsibility and news editors must have a very delicate balance. As stated, news is a business that depends on high

What's the story?

Student name: Heidi Yuanhong Huang
Introduction:
Factual information gathered by news organizations would be presented to the public in the forms of stories rather than merely a set of facts. Stories
are more likely to appeal to the audience, as they more digestible and relatable than an array of facts. At the same time, the story format is more likely
to influence the audience, which to some extent gives power to the writers or the news organizations that are in charge of the process of transforming a
set of factual information into a news story. However, the audience of news is the demand that news suppliers have to answer to and they are exposed
to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another thing that happens behind the scene of the news we read, see or listen to is the screening of information and materials. Journalists receive a
tremendous amount of information daily from different sources, which they then have to decide which ones are newsworthy.
We tell stories for different reasons and it is logical to assume that journalists do so as well. (Schudson, 2011) Decisions are made consciously or not by
the news writers when establishing the relationships among the factual information they have gathered and confirmed. There are a number of factors
affecting the decisions: organizational ones, commercial ones, political ones and so on.
Journalists often find themselves under a lot of pressure facing deadlines, they are also asked to write to answer the requirements from their editors, in
terms of timing, themes, content, etc. They write competitively within and outside of the news agencies they work for, which gives them the tendency
of writing to please the audience, in terms of content and format.
Journalists do not need to be taught to write in the story format and switch to a grieving tone when it is a tragic story. The story format helps readers to
understand information and is more likely to provoke emotions that lead to engagement. Journalists in different news organizations are the ones
crafting the moral of the stories. It is also essential that news

Simone De Beauvoir Research Paper
In the last twenty years women have gained greater equality in many areas. Women are now accepted in politics and the corporate world. Men, for
thousands of years, filled the role of the protector and care provider, but as civilization developed, men never made room for women. In most
cases of power and leadership of large groups of people males held the most important of positions. Simone De Beauvoir wrote about the same issue
in the nineteen fifties that many people are still discussing today. Women had their place, they were to take care of the children, and they are to be
married and having children as soon as possible. For millennia that was the place of women. Recently however, women have gained freedoms and
respect in a world of men. There are women working next to men as Chief Executive Officers (CEO's) and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The job that most women are pressured to have is motherhood. Only recently has it became socially acceptable for husbands to stay home and take
care of the children. Due to the fact that women were not allowed to participate in the affairs of men like work, school, and politics, they have been
pigeonholed into the stay at home category. In fact, according to Beauvoir "a man would feel that he was lowering himself by helping with tasks
hitherto assigned to women" (Beauvoir). Contemporary Women's Issues Database is active in educating the world ongender inequality. They believe
that, "gender feminists believe that the husband–wife relationship is inherently oppressive to women and that the traditional family propagates this
'oppression'... gender feminists envision a brave new world in which reproduction is socially–constructed, rather than biologically–determined"
(Contemporary Women's Issues Database). Women have broken that hold in the last five years and are pushing forward. There are still gains that need

Many scientists and space enthusiasts awaiting news about a second Earth were answered when NASA announced the results its phoenix–like

Is Journalism An Integral Aspect For The Human Race?
Journalism has become an integral aspect for the human race in the last 100 years. It has allowed the average citizen to be more informed with their
community and have a better means to influence their government. As time progressed, it only made sense that a more refined development of news
coverage was developed. Unfortunately, in order to be prosperous, a news organization needs to have views and may try to sensationalize a story. This
may lead to false assumptions and disorder and such acts are immoral for a Journalist.
For the purpose of this paper "sensationalism" can be defined as, "Subject matter, language, or style producing or designed to produce startling or
thrilling impressions or to excite and please vulgar taste" (Dictionary.com). This event has effected all facets of civilized culture, but why are humans
so susceptible to sensationalism? Do we find joy in finding something wrong with the world? Do we need to find something wrong with situations,
even if we have to exaggerate them until we can assume something will go wrong? In most cases people will not be so easily riled up, but as a
business, news companies have fine–tuned the psychology of their viewers in order to drive them to want to watch more. But why are news agencies
so intent on getting views in this matter? What is the responsibility of the viewer? What are the negative effects of sensationalism? To better discern
these questions, a better understanding of why sensationalism may be so appealing

A Report on the Chinese Media
China Media Media creates identities and presents them to the public who is merely a bunch of receptors within the society. These people can be
molded in whatever ideology or mindset and thus are open to different opinions. In other words, the majority of the people don't have much
knowledge beyond the scope of the media. Not everyone goes on the journey of finding out what the real truth is or what is happening in their
government. Thus, for these people, the media is the first hand and only resource to inform them about the present condition and the future predictions
about their country. Thus we see that media not only sends out ideological messages to the public but media systems actually make and exacerbate
the ideological frameworks present in a society. It has been seen that with continuous exposure, media tends to have an influence on identity, beliefs
and personal value.. Even though values, identity and beliefs are controlled by other factors like schools, teachers, friends and family, media does play
a significant role in setting values. The content of a media in a country can give rise to a value or a feeling which can then adapt to the cultural
environment in that region. Due to this reason, social comparisons are created that lead to ideological change in a community and a nation in the long
wrong. It should be noted that economic theory influences political ideologies and these ideologies are then portrayed through the media. Whenever a

media users participate in and discover news, as well as the impact of social media on discussion of news events. Anderson and Caumont found
that social media users are very likely to share news stories, discuss the events, and even share their own coverage of a news event. They also found
that users often spend more time on a news site if they arrived there directly, rather than through a social media site. Finally, the authors state that
social media can stifle one's willingness to share their own opinion and discuss a news event. The authors obtained these conclusions by utilizing
data from the Pew Research Center. This source is useful to my research topic as it sheds light on the ability of social media to encourage discussion of

Effects of News Media

Information and news media have radically changed the way our society both consumes, and views the news today. It used to be that we would reach
for our morning paper, or turn on the evening news after a long days' worth of work to catch up with the events going on around us. I can recall a time
when I would sit down with my father to watch the evening news. Those days have since evolved into something not many could have predicted.
News and information is now available to us whenever we please, accessible via a smartphone, tablet, computer, even all–day news channels keeping
us up to the minute current with events. As such, the media networks have an obligation to its consumers to report accurate, and unbiased stories. With
that said, many news organizations exist for the sole purpose of shaping and serving specific political ideals. With the explosion of electronic media
outlets, the ways in which we consume news, and how news is generated, is ever evolving.
Information media is all around us. Everywhere we go. Look at your phone. Glance at the computer screen. Peruse the magazines while standing in the

Bias in the Media Essay
Everyday millions of Americans plop down in front of their TVs to get their daily intake of news and current events of what happened that day. Sadly,
most of the news and facts they are getting have been altered somehow by someone at the news corporation or by the reporters themselves. In the
numerous news sources that cover world evens daily there are certain viewpoints that are thrust into the public's face. This highly opinionated and

Bias in reporter's stories can be created a couple different ways. One of those possibilities is that information is fabricated to reflect a news corporation's
viewpoint as well as the bias they normally present. The second is the fact that "a journalist can include in their story quotations from advocated of
particular perspective"(David Baron 4). By quoting these people in their stories journalist and reporters all the advocates to "present their
perspectives, make assertions and allegations, draw conclusions, and argue for particular actions"(Baron 4). The public is also able to diagnose the
root causes of media bias in two forms. The first is, "bias is a lack of dispassion and impartiality that colors the decision of whether or not to publish a
story"(Baron 6). Secondly, they see bias as "an intent to persuade" (Baron 6).
Media bias could have a variety of sources. Bias could reflect the preferences or worldview of the owner and reporters of any news corporation. In the
US, major news organizations are owned by corporations and in some cases are run by the government. The American Society of News Editors

Employer:
Your boss pays your salary. In return, they expect to say how you will do your job. This can lead to ethical problems for journalists.
If you work for a government–owned news organization, then your government will be your employer. This could make it very difficult for you to

Misleading Mass Media Mass media is the sources that any individual can get the news from. These sources can be many types and forms. The type I
am considering in this paper is the visual media that is received through news channel. Today, in the light of globalization and modern technology, the
world became smaller place considering how fast the news information can be delivered from almost everywhere. Almost every country has media or
news organizations that has TV channels with a number of reporters who are distributed to many place all over the world. These reporters gather most
of valuable news regarding any event and report them to keep the audience with the most current updated information. Important to realize, the news
channels are very common news source for most of the audience all around the world and especially in the United States. However, "Almost
three–quarters of Americans, (71%) watch local TV news and almost two–thirds, (65%) watch network news over the course of a month. And more
than one–third (38%) of Americans watch news on cable television (Olmstead). According to these statistics, the effect of the news channels cannot
be denied. Since the news channels play a role part in daily life of the audience, a number of issues can be caused by the effect of the news channels
that would make the news misleading rather than truthful. "The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press has been tracking views of press

saying that some of this truly does happen in the nursing homes throughout the United States. In Japan, on the other hand, most of the abuse comes
from the children of the elderly. "In one case, a public servant quit his job to care for his mother in her 80s and adapted his home to meet her needs,
including the installation of a lift. But without support from other family members, the strain took its toll on the man, who began abusing his mother,
giving her water only once a day. The abuse on the mother only got worse when her son died, leaving the care to her daughter–in–law, who refused to
let the woman take a bath, and escalated the abuse when the woman became too weak to walk. Then the daughter–in–law refused to feed the woman
because she said it would help the mother pass on to her next life quicker" (Green).

Argument Against Racial Profiling
Racial profiling occurs when law enforcement officials stop someone because of their race. These can be traffic stops, body searches, or full out
arrests. While there are cases where the person stopped is guilty of a crime, many times the person is innocent of any wrongdoing. Racial profiling is
becoming a large problem in developed countries, and it is contributed to by the rise in xenophobia and islamophobia following the September 11th
terrorist attacks. The xenophobic majorities are only encouraged when upset minority groups respond with protests or rioting, which often occur.
In countries such as France and the Netherlands, where there are large populations of immigrants, young people of foreign background often report that

Argumentative Essay On Social Media
The internet was invented roughly about 30 years ago by the World Wide Web. However, the first social media came out circa 20 years ago. The name
of it was Six Degrees and it was created by Andrew Weinreich in the 1900's. Six degrees users had the capabilities of uploading a profile, making
friends, and sending messages with family and friends. Nevertheless on 2004, Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg, a 19–year–old who created
the biggest social media that changed the world. Till this day, Facebook probably has up to 2 billion users and still counting. Nonetheless, most people
seen on Facebook ranges from their teens to mid–40s, that have the capability of spreading information across the globe setting a chain reaction that

foremost is a matter of keeping individuals properly informed. This may very well not be the case. Popular television news, as most of the population
can agree, has become a polarizing, dramatic and opinionated trainwreck. With that truth achknowledged, aside the large number of events on the

The Kite Runner By Marjane Satrapi
Women in a patriarchal society are oppressed into subordination. Even as global societies grow more progressive, there are still parts of the world
where women are stripped of their basic human rights, forcing women to fight for equality. Marjane Satrapi, author of Persepolis, depicts the political
turmoil in Iran by including the degrading rights of women. In places where Islamic extremism exists, the strict fundamentalism affect the rights and
societal views of women (Bobic et al., 4–8). Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner, tells the story of a Pashtun boy and the consequences of
extremism in Afghanistan, such as racism and sexism. Both Hosseini and Satrapi use the historical backdrop of their work to develop the theme of
feminism. Both novels include women developing their own personal views of feminism within their patriarchal society. In Persepolis, by Marjane
Satrapi, the protagonist is influenced by the women around her; they help shape her beliefs and individuality as a woman in Iran. When Islamic
extremists begin imposing their strict interpretation of the Qur'an to the civilians, the newly implemented Islamic law forces women to dress in
traditional attire. In Iran, Marjane Satrapi states that it is "obligatory to wear the veil at school" (3). Satrapi reveals the submission of women in a
male–dominated society, where wearing a veil signifies modesty and piety in the Islamic culture. To Satrapi and other feminists, it is considered
dehumanizing, and those

  • 2. Argumentative Essay On Artificial Intelligence Argumentative Essay In discussions of Artificial Intelligence, one controversial issue has been that A.I could at one point start control themselves and go against the owner. On the one hand, some people argue that A.I could be helpful in many other ways like with technology and in certain fields. On the other hand, some people oppose it because they can take away a lot of jobs just by having these things. Others believe that A.I is a good thing because it can be used in certain types of fields. My own view is that Artificial Intelligence is a bad thing because of all things that can go wrong and because of the jobs it can take away. Defining Artificial Intelligence (A.I). Artificial Intelligence is the study and design of intelligence agents (Science Daily). Artificial Intelligence should be something helpful to us and not be something that can go against us. In an Article Elon Musk says that there are 3 rules for A.I and what should be done. A.I shouldn't be for cyberbullying and tell people to do certain things that are not supposed to be done. Also, it shouldn't give out personal information of whoever the provider is. With having these A.I robots they will know so much information and probably secret information that maybe the government doesn't want out. Elon Musk states "A.I should not be weaponized, and any A.I must have an impregnable off switch" (The New York Times). He's right what if something were to happen and they can't shut them off and what if they have so much of everybody's personal information that gets released. Having A.I in the future will make it harder to get jobs. With A.I there will be so many A.I machines replacing humans so a lot of people will lose their jobs. In an article "Is AI the end of jobs, or a new beginning" by Vivek Wadhwa she writes about how the A.I that's out right now like Amazons Alexa or Apples Siri can do much stuff like order your food, make schedules for you but it's nothing like a human. A.I will take millions of jobs and according to Wadhwa "We can deny this is happening, be angry or simply ignore it. But if we do, we will be the losers" (The Washington Post). Wadhwa is saying people haven't accepted that fact the in the future there will be A.I and once they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The General Term Of Journalism In our contemporary society, we consume massive amount of public affairs every day, all around the world, without being a personal witness of them. We are able to receive this important information through the news media, which includes print–based media such as newspapers, magazines, books, and audio visual such as films, television, and lastly, Internet. Their main purpose is to deliver news to the general public. A legitimate news story aims to do all of the following–inform, educate, and entertain its audience. Thus, it should be mainly concerned with high level of conflict and be relevant to its readers. Only very recently though, the news became increasingly focused solely on infotainment, losing the usefulness of a newspaper. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This cannot be done by a couple of journalists–this whole process is managed by the journalism staff, and each staff has different roles. Reporters There were a lot of interesting articles on The Huffington Post, under a section named The Death of Newspapers. The headlines of the included newspaper articles caught my attention–they were called "Here's How The Way We Read Newspapers Has Changed", "Bad News for Newspapers", and "Twitter Is the 21st Century Newspaper". Based on their titles, it can be assured that technology has shaped the journalism industry in the 21st Century. Technology has become a very common device to own and utilize nowadays, whether it is a public/private computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It became very affordable and approachable as well, and has had the most influence on the 21st Century, or better described as the Digital Age. The use of media technologies has influenced in different fields in life from communication to education. • 4. International News Coverage On Indian English Print Media... International News Coverage in Indian English Print Media Dailies A Qualitative Content Analysis of The Times of India, The Hindu and The Indian Express Introduction India is home to one of the largest, most diverse print media sectors in the world. With a whopping 82237 newspapers registered as of 2012, out of which a staggering 11,478 are in English, the Indian media seems to be thriving and feeding an incredible number of people information every single day. Despite these overwhelmingly positive numbers, a lot of concerns have risen regarding the actual content of newspapers. Arguments of commercialization and paid journalism (which are rampant) aside, there has been some discontent regarding the lack of coverage of International Issues in the Indian Media, particularly Indian Newspapers. To put things into perspective, one can look no further than the Syrian Crisis that is still raging just yonder and look first at the general ignorance of the average Indian – how many are actually aware of one of the greatest crimes against humanity that is currently underway? With over 170,000 civilians recorded dead, as per the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, one would expect significant concern fuelled by the media providing significant coverage of gruelling events. However, as illustrated in an article on News Analysis website News Laundry, that is not the case. "...What happens in Syria concerns us directly. These men and woman are the reason that AP has been able to be the first to deliver the breaking news from many of the most important historical events happening to mankind. From the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln to the death of Pope John Paul II and the fall of the shah of Iran the Associated Press's reporters has been there to break the news before anyone else. The Associated Press has won 49 Pulitzer Prizes in both writing and photography which gives another great example of what an amazing strength their reporters are to the company. The trustworthiness among these reporters and photographers are once again proven. When discussing human capital there is another branch that is contributing to the strengths of the company and that are the people that deal with the corporate part of the company. Even if the reporters and photographers are doing an amazing job creating a brand image for the company it could not be one without the people running it. One example is the people in the Research and Development department who are always ahead of their time creating new and innovative ideas for the company. One example of this is the Stylebook a guidebook for journalists, reporters, and photographers all over the world.

"Some fake news providers seek to advance candidates they favor. The Romanian man who ran endingthefed.com, for example, claims that he started the site mainly to help Donald Trump's campaign" (Allcott). This misinformation had greater effects post–election; claims began to spread about Russian hackers supposedly having involvement in the election. A simple lie on a news article can have disastrous repercussions. People need to be extra mindful when it comes to obtaining information from the news and media. One of the primary factors for the rise in fake news is the ease of access to information. In a study done by the Knight Foundation their data reports, "Two–thirds of Facebook users access news on the social platform, and with 67 percent of U.S. adults active on Facebook, that translates to 44 percent of the overall U.S. population which accesses news on the social platform" (Gottfried). • 11. Argumentative Essay About Fake News Fake news is something that has been around since news itself began. More recently though the frequency of fake news has been trending upward. This is due to multiple different reasons. These include the rise in social media and also simple advancements in technology. In today's society, just about anyone capable of using the internet is capable of posting an article. On the flipside, just about anyone capable of using the internet are exposing themselves to fake news. Another reason for the large spread of fake news is that people are simply just not educated on the how to determine what's trust worthy and what is not. Some people are so oblivious that when fronted something real and factual their minds will still deny the evidence in front of them in a phenomenon known as the backfire effect. Fake news is a part of today's society, and the only way to avoid it is through the knowledge of how to determine what is actually credible. In a "Finders guide to Facts" the author speaks on the post truth era. In reality, we have always been in this era as facts and lies have always been difficult to decipher. The author Steve Inskeep refers to now as the post trust era. One of the biggest issues in fake news is the American peoples lack of trust in the government, and if they are really telling us everything. A step that can be taken to begin to safeguard people against the more malicious users of the technology is to require three–dimensional printers to be registered in a database for law enforcement to use. This could give law enforcement agencies a place to start looking when three–dimensionally printed weaponry, drugs, and other paraphernalia surface. A law like this would also give similar power to those seeking to limit the power of copyright infringing printers, including those who would use the technology to print money. An alternative to this law is to have the download, modification, and utilization of computer–assisted design files monitored. For example, if a user prints two or three three–dimensionally printed guns, that user may only be trying to obtain a cheap, reliable way to protect their home. However, if a user were to print a dozen of those guns, they are more likely seeking to traffic firearms, and a red flag could be sent to law enforcement to further investigate and potentially prevent a violent, untraceable crime. • 17. Effective Methods to Reduce the Spread of HIV Intervention: Prevention and protection is the most cost effective method to reduce the spread of HIV. In mid–1990s Cambodia's prevention efforts have centered generally on encouraging the condom use among men when participating in business sex and swaying men to diminish their business sex activity. In 1999, the Cambodian government launched a 100% condom usage campaign among the brothel sex workers that was modeled from Thailand's successful program. Education was one of the best measures employed by the Cambodian government in preventing the HIV transmission. 95% of the Cambodian women know about HIV/AIDS according to the Cambodian Demographic & Health Survey 2000 (Department of Planning and Health Information, 2003). This progress was achieved by extensive awareness and education camps throughout the Cambodian provinces. The awareness programs were associated with the government and non–profit organizations. Another effective method for prevention and control is through Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT). In the process of learning individual HIV status, the VCT approach incorporates the pretest and posttest counseling and gives critical prevention measures and messages (Department of Planning and Health Information, 2003). • 19. Overview of the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di The Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di Introduction: The Qin Dynasty, under its first ruler, Qin Shi Huang di, would unite China as a single entity for the first time. His rule, which lasted from 221BC to 210BC, would bring together various warring factions under a single imperial authority. In doing so, this imperial authority would also attribute to itself an incredible degree of divine importance as perhaps is best demonstrated by the tomb constructed in his honor. The Qin Dynasty is remarkable for the ego and ambition of its emperor. Qin Shi Huang di may be demonstrated as a man of unparalleled conceit, with the extent of artifact evidence notable at his burial site standing in direct competition with that of any pharaoh or European king. That Qin was the first ruler to unify the parameters of what is now modern China, it may not be seen as so unreasonable that much of the artwork notable from his time was that which was built in tribute to him. Indeed, the beginnings of the Great Wall of China would come about in this time, and would be as much a testament to the remarkable vanity of Qin's ambitions as to the strategic justification for the erection of the enormous structure. However, the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di, contrary to the security–induced Great Wall, remains shrouded in mystery even to the present day. The plans behind its construction, the incredible detail and the sheer cruelty of what is implied by its many chambers give continued life to archeological speculation. ... The first regularly published English newspaper appeared in London in 1622. They were owner–operated, and were largely autonomous, although risky because talking about royalty and politics was illegal. Most early newspapers were short–lived. Printing and paper were expensive and relatively few people could read. Journalism was also a risky business, as those in power did not welcome criticism or scrutiny. The late 18th century saw an important shift in European societies, namely the formation of a group known as 'the public'. Urban life had to develop sufficiently for strangers to be regularly thrown into contact with one another. Common interests began to be widely shared among people otherwise not linked by family, religion, or other established categories of social life. A rising bourgeois class came out from under exclusive royal control, bringing with them leisure time, education, and financial means. It signalled a power shift, both financial and political. In 1729 Benjamin Franklin, then owner–editor of the Pennsylvania Gazzette, pioneered the idea of paid newspaper advertising. He also put in place a policy of editorial impartiality, clearly articulated in an editorial column in the Pennsylvania Gazette in 1731, voicing sentiments familiar to journalists of the digital area: "If all Printers were determin'd not to print any thing till they were ... In the broad sense, diplomatic can be interpreted as legitimate and legal use of a state in conducting foreign policy. In order to establish the relationship between countries, states usually send their diplomats to work in each other's country (Herde, 2000). The complete coverage of stories and investigative reports are certainly at risk with the rise of media as a business, rather than strictly a service to the public. Over the past few years, there have been a number of cases where television stations or news publications have killed news stories or forced reporters to slant stories due to pressure from advertisers or those in power at the news. Carol Guensburg examines the ethical dilemmas of news reporting that involve the media agency's owner in the December 1998 issue of American Journalism Review (p. 10). In "When the story is about the owner," she determines that it is up to the individual journalists and news operations to continue reporting important stories, regardless of the impact they may have on corporate or advertising interests (Guensburg, p. 11). American Journalism Review's October 1998 article by Jane Kirtley, "Second–guessing news judgment," looks at the issue of FCC regulations of news coverage (p. 86). She notes that having the governmental agency get involved in news coverage would likely lead to the consequence that "broadcasters will be discouraged from covering controversial issues at all" (Kirtley, p. 86). Stories are more likely to appeal to the audience, as they more digestible and relatable than an array of facts. At the same time, the story format is more likely to influence the audience, which to some extent gives power to the writers or the news organizations that are in charge of the process of transforming a set of factual information into a news story. Another thing that happens behind the scene of the news we read, see or listen to is the screening of information and materials. Journalists receive a tremendous amount of information daily from different sources, which they then have to decide which ones are newsworthy. We tell stories for different reasons and it is logical to assume that journalists do so as well. (Schudson, 2011) Decisions are made consciously or not by the news writers when establishing the relationships among the factual information they have gathered and confirmed. There are a number of factors affecting the decisions: organizational ones, commercial ones, political ones and so on. Journalists often find themselves under a lot of pressure facing deadlines, they are also asked to write to answer the requirements from their editors, in terms of timing, themes, content, etc. They write competitively within and outside of the news agencies they work for, which gives them the tendency of writing to please the audience, in terms of content and format. Journalists do not need to be taught to write in the story format and switch to a grieving tone when it is a tragic story. The story format helps readers to understand information and is more likely to provoke emotions that lead to engagement. Journalists in different news organizations are the ones crafting the moral of the stories. It is also essential that news

These people can be molded in whatever ideology or mindset and thus are open to different opinions. In other words, the majority of the people don't have much knowledge beyond the scope of the media. Not everyone goes on the journey of finding out what the real truth is or what is happening in their government. Thus, for these people, the media is the first hand and only resource to inform them about the present condition and the future predictions about their country. Thus we see that media not only sends out ideological messages to the public but media systems actually make and exacerbate the ideological frameworks present in a society. It has been seen that with continuous exposure, media tends to have an influence on identity, beliefs and personal value.. Think of the Edgar Allan Poe quote "believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see". This statement reigns more true today than ever before. In this world of fake news, it is the responsibility of the reader to separate truth from fiction. So why do people write fake news? Some articles seem to be written specifically out of boredom and for the entertainment of its readers. These articles should be specified as satire but are at times written as if they were legitimate news stories. These are generally far–fetched and can be disproven with a quick google search if that is even necessary. The next reason is a bit more ominous: to stir panic and push ... • 38. Media's Impact On The Effects Of News Media Effects of News Media Albert Perez HUM/186 07 August 2017 Allyson Wells Information and news media have radically changed the way our society both consumes, and views the news today. It used to be that we would reach for our morning paper, or turn on the evening news after a long days' worth of work to catch up with the events going on around us. I can recall a time when I would sit down with my father to watch the evening news. Those days have since evolved into something not many could have predicted. News and information is now available to us whenever we please, accessible via a smartphone, tablet, computer, even all–day news channels keeping us up to the minute current with events. As such, the media networks have an obligation to its consumers to report accurate, and unbiased stories. With that said, many news organizations exist for the sole purpose of shaping and serving specific political ideals. With the explosion of electronic media outlets, the ways in which we consume news, and how news is generated, is ever evolving. Information media is all around us. Everywhere we go. Look at your phone. Glance at the computer screen. Peruse the magazines while standing in the checkout line of your local supermarket. It does not take much searching to locate but has an everlasting impact on those who consume it. How you say? It all lies in how the information is presented to us. First, and foremost, news is a money–making industry. With that comes the next ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Bias in the Media Essay Everyday millions of Americans plop down in front of their TVs to get their daily intake of news and current events of what happened that day. Sadly, most of the news and facts they are getting have been altered somehow by someone at the news corporation or by the reporters themselves. In the numerous news sources that cover world evens daily there are certain viewpoints that are thrust into the public's face. This highly opinionated and biased news coverage has been present since there was news to report on. From WWII and onwards there has been a steady increase in the number of news corporations, which in turn has caused an increase in viewpoints on news coverage. Americans get this biased view of current world events because owners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bias in reporter's stories can be created a couple different ways. One of those possibilities is that information is fabricated to reflect a news corporation's viewpoint as well as the bias they normally present. The second is the fact that "a journalist can include in their story quotations from advocated of particular perspective"(David Baron 4). By quoting these people in their stories journalist and reporters all the advocates to "present their perspectives, make assertions and allegations, draw conclusions, and argue for particular actions"(Baron 4). The public is also able to diagnose the root causes of media bias in two forms. The first is, "bias is a lack of dispassion and impartiality that colors the decision of whether or not to publish a story"(Baron 6). Secondly, they see bias as "an intent to persuade" (Baron 6). Media bias could have a variety of sources. Bias could reflect the preferences or worldview of the owner and reporters of any news corporation. In the US, major news organizations are owned by corporations and in some cases are run by the government. The American Society of News Editors (ASNE) took a poll of the American public and discovered their opinions on biases "30 percent of adults see bias as not being open–minded and neutral about the facts. 29 percent say that it's having an agenda, and shaping the news report to ... External and Internal Pressure on Media Journalists Journalists are professional people, trying to work within a code of professional ethics. However, journalists cannot operate in a vacuum, doing what they think is right without pressures being put on them. Journalists face pressure from a variety of sources, all trying to make the journalist behave in a way which is not the way the journalist would choose. Employer: Your boss pays your salary. In return, they expect to say how you will do your job. This can lead to ethical problems for journalists. If you work for a government–owned news organization, then your government will be your employer. This could make it very difficult for you to report critically on things which the government is doing. Ministers will often put pressure on public service journalists to report things which are favorable to the government (even when they are not newsworthy) and not to report ... In the course of gathering the information, they may interview somebody who calls for the death penalty as the answer to increasing crime. The journalist may be tempted not to report these comments, and to leave the question of capital punishment out of the story. This would clearly be unethical. It is as bad to censor the news to suit your own views as it is to censor the news to please your family, or clan, or tribe. This is contrary to the most fundamental principle of free speech – that we may disagree with what somebody says, but that we must fight to defend their right to say it. • 41. Mass Media Is The Sources That Any Individual Can Get The... Misleading Mass Media Mass media is the sources that any individual can get the news from. These sources can be many types and forms. The type I am considering in this paper is the visual media that is received through news channel. Today, in the light of globalization and modern technology, the world became smaller place considering how fast the news information can be delivered from almost everywhere. Almost every country has media or news organizations that has TV channels with a number of reporters who are distributed to many place all over the world. These reporters gather most of valuable news regarding any event and report them to keep the audience with the most current updated information. Important to realize, the news channels are very common news source for most of the audience all around the world and especially in the United States. However, "Almost three–quarters of Americans, (71%) watch local TV news and almost two–thirds, (65%) watch network news over the course of a month. And more than one–third (38%) of Americans watch news on cable television (Olmstead). According to these statistics, the effect of the news channels cannot be denied. Since the news channels play a role part in daily life of the audience, a number of issues can be caused by the effect of the news channels that would make the news misleading rather than truthful. • 42. Essay on Elderly Abuse Before doing research on this topic, I would have said that the United States treats the elderly with passion and love, but I now know that I was wrong. The elderly people have been treated just as badly, if not worse then, in Japan. How could this be? The elderly are so innocent, loving, and have nothing but care for most people. How could anyone harm such a loving soul? These questions are more than likely going through many minds as I am writing this paper. In the United States most of the abuse has came from nursing homes, but in Japan more than likely the abuse is coming from the offspring of the elderly. Even though both governments' officials are trying to pass new laws to protect the elderly, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Abuse in nursing homes can take place in many shapes and forms including, but not limited to, verbal, physical, psychological, and abuse due to the use of restraints" (Fischer). These statements are not saying that every nursing home in the United States does not take care of its patients but it is saying that some of this truly does happen in the nursing homes throughout the United States. In Japan, on the other hand, most of the abuse comes from the children of the elderly. "In one case, a public servant quit his job to care for his mother in her 80s and adapted his home to meet her needs, including the installation of a lift. But without support from other family members, the strain took its toll on the man, who began abusing his mother, giving her water only once a day. The abuse on the mother only got worse when her son died, leaving the care to her daughter–in–law, who refused to let the woman take a bath, and escalated the abuse when the woman became too weak to walk. Then the daughter–in–law refused to feed the woman because she said it would help the mother pass on to her next life quicker" (Green). "The abuse has gone so far that the sons were responsible for the abuse in 32 percent of the cases, followed by daughters–in–law and spouses, each at 20 percent. About 64 percent of the cases involved mental abuse, including yelling or willful neglect, 52 percent involved denying meals or other forms of care and 50 percent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Argument Against Racial Profiling Racial profiling occurs when law enforcement officials stop someone because of their race. These can be traffic stops, body searches, or full out arrests. While there are cases where the person stopped is guilty of a crime, many times the person is innocent of any wrongdoing. Racial profiling is becoming a large problem in developed countries, and it is contributed to by the rise in xenophobia and islamophobia following the September 11th terrorist attacks. The xenophobic majorities are only encouraged when upset minority groups respond with protests or rioting, which often occur. In countries such as France and the Netherlands, where there are large populations of immigrants, young people of foreign background often report that they are stopped by police without apparent reason. Ismael Attalki, an 18 year–old business student in Rotterdam, felt that "[The police] just don't treat me with any respect...they should treat all people with respect, and not just the young people who are Dutch." • 44. Argumentative Essay On Social Media The internet was invented roughly about 30 years ago by the World Wide Web. However, the first social media came out circa 20 years ago. The name of it was Six Degrees and it was created by Andrew Weinreich in the 1900's. Six degrees users had the capabilities of uploading a profile, making friends, and sending messages with family and friends. Nevertheless on 2004, Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg, a 19–year–old who created the biggest social media that changed the world. Till this day, Facebook probably has up to 2 billion users and still counting. Nonetheless, most people seen on Facebook ranges from their teens to mid–40s, that have the capability of spreading information across the globe setting a chain reaction that created and spread fake news. Social medias' fake news is spread by a heap of people that are easily convinced by false statements. According to Gretel, "In the midst of a nationwide debate over the proliferation of fake news on social media sites – and, as one 2015 study by the Media Insight Project shows, at a time when nearly 9 in 10 Millennials regularly get news from Facebook – the numbers, at first glance, may point to a bleak, uninformed future." (n. pag.) Therefore, teens need to use social media to disintegrate some of the repercussions of real news. Teens need to understand fake news and be able to acknowledge if it is real or fake. • 45. Television News And Its Effects On Society When an individual would like to be informed of the vast social, political and economical events of the world they naturally turn to television news outlets or their favorite internet news source. We humans as seekers of knowledge and truth, would like to think the objective of news media first and foremost is a matter of keeping individuals properly informed. This may very well not be the case. Popular television news, as most of the population can agree, has become a polarizing, dramatic and opinionated trainwreck. With that truth achknowledged, aside the large number of events on the planet, major news networks should highly consider discontinuing their programs as a consequence of their toxis level of bias and their seemingly infinite perspective imperatives. News used to be an apparatus intended to inform people about current events, however its present status is begging to be proven wrong. On the off chance that you need to comprehend what 's happening outside of your every day life, you need to get the news from somewhere. This can go from word–of–mouth to newspapers; websites to television as well as communicating by worldwide news systems and multimillion–dollar, petro–funded networks such as Fox News, CNN and other corporate–owned news outlets. • 46. The Kite Runner By Marjane Satrapi Women in a patriarchal society are oppressed into subordination. Even as global societies grow more progressive, there are still parts of the world where women are stripped of their basic human rights, forcing women to fight for equality. Marjane Satrapi, author of Persepolis, depicts the political turmoil in Iran by including the degrading rights of women. In places where Islamic extremism exists, the strict fundamentalism affect the rights and societal views of women (Bobic et al., 4–8). Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner, tells the story of a Pashtun boy and the consequences of extremism in Afghanistan, such as racism and sexism. Both Hosseini and Satrapi use the historical backdrop of their work to develop the theme of feminism. Both novels include women developing their own personal views of feminism within their patriarchal society. In Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi, the protagonist is influenced by the women around her; they help shape her beliefs and individuality as a woman in Iran. When Islamic extremists begin imposing their strict interpretation of the Qur'an to the civilians, the newly implemented Islamic law forces women to dress in traditional attire. In Iran, Marjane Satrapi states that it is "obligatory to wear the veil at school" (3). Satrapi reveals the submission of women in a male–dominated society, where wearing a veil signifies modesty and piety in the Islamic culture.
