3. THE RESEARCH DESIGN
It refers to how to carry out the research process. You
have to make important decisions on the following
aspects:
•Type of study.
•Selection of setting and participants.
•Instruments and procedures to collect data.
It is a good idea to include a preliminary schedule
showing the main stages you will follow to carry out
your research.
4. RESEARCH DESIGN
• Reflect on the types of research you have studied
previously and select the most suitable one for
your research project (case study, action research,
etc). For further reading, please go to the links
posted in the virtual room.
• Write a complete description of the setting where
you are going to carry out the research. Include the
most relevant information.
5. RESEARCH DESIGN
Write a complete description of the participants. Some
studies allow you to take into account the whole
population, but others, demand to look for a sample.
Select the instruments /procedures to collect data which
must be coherent with the approach you have chosen to
conduct your research. Include the final drafts of the
instruments .
Determine the main research activities or stages to be
developed within the research process and establish
preliminary dates.
7. EVALUATION CRITERIA

Cohesion and coherence of the
written paper. Include previous
sections: statement of the problem,
Objectives, research question(s),
literature review, etc.
