2. What are institution's
• Institution's are magazine publishers who are responsible for
releasing these magazines to the general public. Many seem to be
genre specific.
3. EMAP
• EMAP is an magazine publisher that became Acential and shifted to
digital publishing. EMAP published many home ec magazines and
DIY magazines. It formally published gaming magazines like
Nintendo official magazine and Computers and Video Games. It
currently hasn’t made an music magazine.
4. BBC
• The BBC is best known for its tv broadcasting over the past century
but it has gone into magazine publishing as well. It covered things
like general news, science and history and unlike EMAP, it also went
into music. It also has a music magazine for children called top of
the pops, which focuses on pop singers.
An example of BBCs history
magazines.
5. IPC
• The IPC now known as Time inc UK publishes Lifestyle magazines,
Luxury magazines and Specialist magazines. It formally published
Comics and Kids Magazines. Right now it doesn’t publish any music.
As you can see. None of these are music.
6. Time Inc
• Time inc is a publishing house which publishes all things rap. It
publishes magazines such as Vibe and XXL. This is perfect as Time
Inc works in the genre I want my magazine to be in, meaning I can
publish my magazine.
Time Inc publishes
these magazines
7. Which is suitable
• Overall, the BBC seem to be more bigger and more financially stable
out of these 4 institutions. However, Time Inc works in my genre of
choice, Hip Hop so I think Time Inc is the most suitable.
