for the product, Reasons/features that created excitement in the first place, Major problems encountered that caused the delay in launching the product,

3. Major problems encountered that caused the delay in launching the product.
Due to its radical innovation of complexity in product development process, manufacturing of the Dreamliner was heavily outsourced to firms all
around the world with components being built in France, Japan, Italy, Australia, Finland amongst others. Suppliers scattered around the world each was
focused primarily on their own outcomes – they had to deliver what was required on time and within their own budget constraints. Often, one supplier
was forced to wait for another to provide a component. These components were shipped and flown back to Boeing for final assembly. This approach
delegated responsibility, development cost and some risk. The complexity involved in project managing such a vast network led to confusion and delays.

improve the performance of a product. Boeing has traditionally used aluminum for their airplanes, but changed their 787 to carbon fiber, aluminum, and
titanium. This allowed for increased humidity and maintained pressure within the cabin; which also would reduce maintenance and replacement costs

Their goals were not to just cater to one group of flyers like average consumer or business men, but to include all in a new design to accompany those
needs. Their first major milestone was the capability to make the flight to Asia, non–stop and have a cabin to keep the passengers happy and not
exhausted after the flight. To achieve this, Boeing needed to increase their cabin to accommodate more people to about 200 to 300 people so they

When the quality throughput of the component is less than 95%, the demand is increased. Quality measures are in place to alert the supplier when the
throughput is less than 95% as desired but additional demands with reduced quality requirements keep the supplier from delivering. Original plans
called for specific manufactured items for each component yet the supplier elected to use a less expensive alternative which isn't meeting quality
requirements.
To help mitigate the supplier risks, determine the supplier's attitude to safety, quality, and environmental aspects to delivering components. Another

of Boeing is in need of change in their system. Boeing has become more involved as a company sending engineers to examine products for planes
and jets. In my opinion Boeing as a company is showing Quality control "minimizing errors by managing each stage of production" which calls for
